“We are on a quest for the world’s finest egg roll. Both the roast pork egg roll and the shrimp egg roll are definitely finalists despite relatively little of the titular ingredient in either. They were both hot and crisp on the outside while the vegetables in the filling still had a little crunch to them. Beef chow fun was good. The house special lo mein, fried rice and wonton soup were filling but very bland.“

“Fast and good food. Very reasonable prices. Not quite a place for sit down but there are a few tables to sit and eat. It's generally for take out, either pick up or deliver. Parking lot is small. Getting in to lot is easier than getting out. Being it's location is at a corner which is often busy. Hard to turn left out of the lot due to the traffic pattern. Love the food there.

“I don’t understand the negative reviews. I live in The Pleasantdale section of WO and for 40 years I’ve tried every Chinese restaurant between WO and Verona.

Over the previous years all of my “go to” places have been stinking it up. Small portions, less flavor and egg rolls have become a joke.

Peking House has nailed it. Egg rolls are old school large, steamed dumplings are fantastic, general Tao chicken, egg foo young, and house special Lo mein packed with flavor and large portions.

Great food I’ll definitely order from here again.“

“Fast service, food was good. We ordered house fries rice, orange chicken, fries wontons, spring rolls, egg rolls, dumplings, house lo mein, etc. I pigged out (with the Family). Whenever the orange chicken is made with white meat, and the shrimp is deveined, you know the restaurant is 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. No photos, I was concentrating on eating.“

“The Only place I eat Chinese food is Lotus. They cook with love and I've never seen a cleaner Shop. They are very kind and after 20 years, they are the same from the first time we met. “I'm from Harlem NYC so one thing we know, is good chinese food. However, I don’t understand why this place has low ratings. I called yesterday to order a chicken and broccoli party platter, and it was ready in just 15 minutes. When I arrived, I noticed how clean and organized the restaurant was. The platter came in a large 8x11 pan, sealed with foil and piping hot, along with two big containers of white rice. It easily fed six hungry people, with food left over and the chicken and broccoli was absolutely delicious! It's a must try!“

Wontons in Chili Oil (7.5/10): sweet and savory. It's good but the sweetness surprised me.

Overall: good ingredients, traditional flavors and recipes, solid place would come back again. ALSO GOOD PRICES

Edit: so good I had to come back for more. Beef soup with pork ribs 8.7/10. The noodles are so firm and the broth is so hearty and warm. Got beef scallion pancakes and it had cucumbers and some beef in it wrapped in a flaky crust. 8.3/10. Amazing“

They got flavors by the end of the line & if it dont taste good to you 🤷 maybe you just dont like it thats fair. But like claiming its the restaurants fault is dumb, the visuals do need a face life & could be lil bit cleaner every now and then, but it only gets messy when its busy busy. “My husband & I haven’t ordered Chinese food in a couple yrs bc it just kept getting worse, no matter how many places we were recommended. Even our OG tried & true (in our town) plummeted downhill, so we just gave up on it…. until tonight, when he said “I’m really craving Chinese!” I decided to google the best places in Union county & Trio came up first. After I peeped a ton of reviews, I IMMEDIATELY knew that’s what dinner was gonna be. Just picked it up maybe 45 mins ago & when I tell you, both my husband & I kept sayimg “this is amazing!”

Went with the black pepper chicken, bc how could I not! So many reviews mentioned it. The chicken is sweet, sticky, spicy in the best black pepper way, crispy yet lightly fried (almost like tempura) & that sauce mixed with the pork fried rice (with delicious chunks of fried onion & roast pork!)…. YUMMMMM!!!!! I’ve never had it before but it will be a staple going forward.

The pork fried dumplings were the best we’ve ever had. Filled with meat & fried to perfection. The shrimp rolls are packed with perfectly cooked veggies & beautiful, plump, pink chunks of shrimp. My husband said “that’s the best shrimp roll I’ve ever had. Usually they just taste like one note, everything in them blends together & it’s all just mush, but these are insane!” I got the large duck sauce bc no store bought ever comes close. The roast pork lomein hit HARD. The pork is succulent & moist, rather than dry as a bone and cut into teeny pieces like it is at every single Chinese restaurant we’ve ever ordered from. Absolutely delicious.

For my 83 yo FIL, we got his usual- a small order of bone in spareribs & I can hear him downstairs (as I type this review) telling his elderly dog “these are great, coco!” 😆

Last, but not least, I grabbed a homemade iced tea for my husband (thank you so much for throwin it “on the house”) & he sipped it down with a smile on his face.

I’m old school so I called our order in & she was the most kind, jovial, sweet as pie human. I’ve lived in NJ for 27 yrs now, and can truly say that this is, without a doubt, the best Chinese food we’ve ever had. Cannot wait to go back & try a bunch more dishes. But that black pepper chicken and these shrimp rolls will be a definite yes every single time.“

“Absolutely a fantastic restaurant with amazing dishes! The place has a cozy and comfortable atmosphere and the food was to die for. I recommend the pork soup dumplings and the red bean sesame balls. The pork soup dumplings were flavorful, juicy, and full of soup. The red bean sesame balls were warm and crunchy, with the red bean paste inside soft and tasted like heaven. All the other options we ordered were delicious as well, like the chicken leg noodle soup, the fried noodles, the mango pomelo sago, and the clear shrimp dumplings.“

Not crispy as from can see in pic. Was this really beef also? Walnuts were plain as well.Steamed Spinach Dumplings were a bit dry . Hunan Dumplings Spinach and beef dumplings topped with spicy peanut sauce. Spicy. I got not spicy but were very good. Would I try again. Yes think I would.“
