“A Maplewood Gem: Bill & Harry's Chinese Restaurant
As a longtime Maplewood resident, I've been enjoying Bill & Harry's since childhood, and it never disappoints. This family-owned restaurant has been serving authentic Chinese cuisine for years, maintaining excellent quality and warm hospitality.
The owners' dedication is evident in every visit. Their genuine kindness creates a welcoming atmosphere that keeps locals coming back. It's a joy to see my own children now sharing my enthusiasm for Bill & Harry's.
The menu offers delicious, generously portioned dishes that always hit the spot.
Bill & Harry's isn't just a restaurant; it's a cherished part of Maplewood's community. For anyone craving delicious Chinese fare in a friendly setting, I highly recommend giving Bill & Harry's a try. It's a local tradition that stands the test of time.“

“So the food is actually excellent. I’d love to give them five stars except 1. I have no idea what I was charged so much for (I ordered Chicken Egg Foo Young w/FF, Spring Roll, and small Egg Drop Soup; $24) 2. There’s a few different prices on the menu for the same items and 3. I can be wrong because it’s the first time I tried Egg Foo Young ever but I don’t see or taste any chicken in my Chicken Egg Foo Young. The food really is amazing though. I’ll definitely order from them again because it’s really hard for me to find a Chinese food place I really like. Asia Garden is so far the top Chinese food place for me. Hunan Wok can easily take 2nd place.“

“Lucky Foo in Kearny, NJ: The Real Deal Chinese Experience
If you're looking for that authentic, no-frills Chinese spot, Lucky Foo is for you.
If you're expecting some fancy American-style service, you might be in for a shock. But trust me, that's part of the charm. It's just one person cooking and one serving, and their mission? Get that homemade food to you, no matter how long it takes. Don't come here if you're in a rush - this is slow food at its finest. I learned about this style of service living in Hawaii, so it felt familiar to me.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the food. It's clean, packed with homestyle flavor, and will leave you feeling satisfied. That noodle soup? Pure magic. When I'm craving authentic, homemade noodle soup, this is the spot I head to. It's not an everyday thing, but when that specific craving hits, Lucky Foo delivers.
The vibe inside is something else. It's quiet - like, eerily quiet - and filled with what looked like college-age Asian students. No background music, no chitchat, just people focused on their bowls or phones. It's an experience, I'm telling you.
Don't expect any fancy menus - it's all up on the wall. And heads up, it's cash only. But honestly? The food is so good, you won't even care.
If you're after authentic Chinese cuisine without any of the fuss, Lucky Foo is your spot. It might not be for everyone, but for those who get it? It's a little slice of homestyle heaven right here in Kearny.“

“You need to be prepared to stack up your ingredients for this delicious noodle spot. You can start with a soup, dumplings and then grab a bowl to put all your ingredients in. Then the cook makes the noodles right in front of you.
Vegetarian options: If you don't mind that the meat is cooked on the same grill stove, there's plenty of options that are non meat.“

“I recently tried the Chicken Lo Mein with Pork Fried Rice at Lin's, and it was fantastic! The Lo Mein noodles were perfectly cooked, with tender chicken and a great blend of vegetables. The Pork Fried Rice was flavorful, with just the right amount of seasoning and tender pork pieces. Both dishes were fresh, tasty, and incredibly satisfying. If you're craving delicious Chinese comfort food, I highly recommend giving these dishes a try at Lin's!“

“i am here to specifically point out that their SOUP DUMPLINGS are WONDERFUL! I only have ever had soup dumplings as good as these in flushing, queens, (nyc), where there is a dense asian population. I came in expecting not too great dumplings and left overly satisfied and pleasantly surprised. really good soup dumplings for a place in nj.“

“Here's a great review for you guys. I'm not one to EVER reheat Chinese food the next day...or ever. My husband ordered from here for him and the kids while I was at work this past weekend. Not only did I reheat it after work and it was delicious, but I ate it for lunch the next day, too, and still really good. I think this was the first time I reheated Chinese food in about twenty yrs lol. Will order again, thanks.“

“I rarely eat Chinese food and I choose this restaurant when I have to eat. When I tasted the food, I was surprised by the taste, which gave me a new understanding of this cuisine. Quick pick up and very kind service. Pricing is very reasonable for the amount of food that you get.“

“This is absolutely the best Chinese take out spot. I drive from Oakland NJ to Nutley to get this Chinese food. They have the best flavor, quality, and consistency!, You get exactly what you are expecting, every time. There are so many places that try to be more authentic or try to be more fancy and they fail miserably because of it. New Man Hing keeps it standard like a Chinese take out restaurant should, and the results are the same great food EVERY TIME. Added bonus is everyone is very nice and pleasant too.
Kid-friendliness: Even though it’s a quick in and out, they are always very sweet to my son.“

“Happened to come across this place by surprise and at the last minute. Was looking for something light - a la a moo shu pork. I wasn't sure what to expect - but have to say it was really, really good. It is the first time I remember eating the whole portion. It was a great balance of vegetables, protein and seasoning. The only down side, using egg roll skin as the pancake is a bit of a cop out. A true Mandarin pancake would have earned it 5 stars.“

“Best Chinese food in Cassiac! The owners were super sweet and the food was delicious. Went here 3 times last week to try different dishes, and the eggrolls are the best thing on their menu. Will visit soon again when I'm back in Cassiac, and can't wait to go back!“

“Their veggies and meat were extremely fresh. The broccoli was not overcooked and had an amazing crunch to it. Very fresh! The rice is very different from other Chinese restaurants, and is probably the one thing I would change. The rice was good but had better fried rice at other locations; the pork, carrot and pea pieces were very fresh in the rice. The food was very tasty, however, if I may recommend something to the restaurant, please use less sodium. Although the food was very tasty, I think using less salt would have made it taste even better. ?I would HIGHLY recommend the fried chicken wings. They kept their crunchy texture after sitting for 15-20 minutes in the bag. They were so crunchy and the wings were pretty well sized unlike other Chinese restaurants. Other restaurants give you very small wings with barely any meat or taste soggy.Get the chicken wings! ?“

“I really appreciate them having a gluten-free menu and lots of options, not just a salad. I tried their gluten free general tsos shrimp and shaved marinated brocoli shoots as an appetizer. It was generally good but shrimp was a bit overcooked. I will come back to taste their other dishes.“

“This review is long overdue from me, as my family and I have been ordering from here for over 10 years. It is by far the best takeout Chinese food I’ve ever had, and undoubtedly the best in Union County. Also, can’t not mention that it comes at a great price too.“

“I’ve been ordering Chinese takeout back to living in Brooklyn for 20+ years. In almost all Chinese restaurant reviews, people always complain about delivery and how many shrimp they got. Just order pick up and don’t go to pricy places if u want to avoid being disappointed. I’ve bought from Madison Wok for 15 years now and never had a late order when ordering pick up here (usually 15 mins). The food tastes exactly as my local restaurant when I was a kid, so I can’t complain. For the price, consider how little you are paying for the amount of work and manpower going into it •• esp since it’s done so fast. Dao nearby has slightly less oil and flavor for a lot more money. I wanted to like it but just poor value since your deliver or pick up order price needs to support the wait staff. No American style Chinese food is healthy for you so stop thinking you’re doing something good by paying someone extra to do less oil, msg, etc. in summary, this is an old school place that gives you the standards for the least amount of money you’ll pay in this zip code. Not something to eat everyday, but when you need your fix for this kind of stuff. I recommend the pork dumplings, fried wings, curry chicken, wonton soup and any fried rice, plus the chow fun and generals chicken. My 3 kids never complain and no one has ever been sick. Sometimes I’m not crazy about the amount of meat but remember that I’m not paying $15 or $20 for a pint here, and the low prices are supporting a skeleton crew.“

“This was my first time ordering from this restaurant because it's hard to find good Chinese food. I ordered an orange chicken combo very spicy. The flavor of the food is excellent, the pork fried rice was on point and freshly made, the orange chicken was a bit mushy more on the softer side. If they can fry the chicken a little bit crunchy it would be perfect. The eggroll I'm not a fan of but it was okay. I enjoyed the food, and that will be my new goto restaurant from now on.“

“First it was a rainy day. They were busy. Young lady let's us know it was an 30 min wait. I was not rushed to order. She was very pleasant and patient. I ordered shrimp Egg Foo Young and beef Egg Foo young. The beef was so tender and the shrimp are nice big ones. And the brown gravy was delicious. If I could give 10 stats I would. Even with the wait time.“

“Food is 10/10 this place never fails. They are a cash only establishment but you can order online with card. They are closed on Mondays but it doesn’t matter the customer service and food makes up for it. Best Chinese spot I’ve probably ever had.“

“I'm from NY and been living in NC for 11yrs. I visited NJ for a few days and decided to order chinese. I ordered chicken and broccoli pork fried rice, rib tips and rice and chicken wings. The price was reasonable and the food was DELICIOUS. I asked for my wings to be crispy and they weren't but they were still good and they forgot my egg roll. Other than that I recommend this place“

“Great place for dim sum. They have a wide variety of classics (like egg tart, chicken feet, fried pork buns, etc) and non-classics (like clams, shrimp, crab, mango sago, etc). Their prices range from $4.50 for a small dim sum to $12 for “chef” dim sum.
The service is fast. We came during brunch hours on a Sunday and even though there was a lot of people, we were instantly seated. And as soon as we got a table, the dim sum carts swung by right away. The servers can be a bit aggressive in insisting you take certain dishes (by placing them on the table before you’ve agreed to them), but as long as you say no they’ll take them away.
The inside is your typical Chinese dim sum restaurants with round tables and many dim sum carts running around.
The bathroom is clean and large with multiple stalls. It looks relatively new.
We parked in the lot outside and had no trouble finding parking.
There doesn’t seem to be good reception for AT&T here so we had some trouble navigating away after eating here.
Prices:
- Small 小点 - $4.50
- Medium 中点 - $5.25
- Large 大点 - $5.75
- Special 特点 - $6.50
- Top 顶点 - $7.25
- Super 超点 - $8.95
- Chef 厨点 - $12
Parking: We parked in the lot outside and had no trouble finding parking.“

They gave me one it’s super amazing. That’s why I went today. Guy who working front it’s not helping. But he can mange the job. And he try to help. Today my lunch was pot cooking rice. We can choose two meats. I got beef and chicken. It’s coming with side of soya sauce. And I asked that chili oil again, it was delicious. Before that for appetizer I bought hot buttered prawns dish. “We often order from Verona Chinese Kitchen, delivery only. Deliveries are prompt. I really like their Sesame Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and Chicken with Cashew Nuts. My husband enjoys their Beef with Snowpeas, and Shrimp Toast. We sometimes order their soups, especially the Hot and Sour soup and Wonton soup, but ask for modifications as my husband has certain tolerances. They are very accommodating, everything arrives as ordered. The service is friendly, professional, and our orders are read back for clear communication, which is much appreciated as I am hard of hearing.“

“It's great-tasting, well-made Chinese food. By well-made I mean you're NOT going to receive food that's drowned in grease, or all mushy like it's been sitting in a steam table for hours. They have a great selection of different styles. All the standard stuff, plus Szechuan and Cantonese specialties. The prices are reasonable. Staff is very nice. I love that when I order delivery, the driver is from the restaurant, not some internet service.I used to think I'd never find good Chinese food in this area, until I tried Hop Hing. Now I wouldn't go anywhere else.“

“It was a baby shower hosted by the parents of the first time mother. The menu chosen by the father was selecting 90 percent of the delicious dim sum on themenu. We had every dish commonly enjoyed by families.
There were 30 tables with many young children all enjoying the food and the occasion. It was a wonderful celebration for new life, a new baby for expecting parents, grandparents, and family members and friends. The food, service, and the general happiness of the attending members was memorable.“

“Be patient and prepare for waiting for order and waiting for dishes (because there is only one server……), then all is good!! Can’t complain everything else, the seafood is so fresh and umami, seasoning is perfect, and lots of variety, and… very cheap (comparing to other seafood restaurants)!!! “This is the first halal Chinese food experience I've ever had. This cash-only establishment has fresh food and competitive prices. The staff isn't very friendly and they're always in some kind of hurry. The restaurant is dated and not very welcoming and there is no dining area. The quality of food and its flavors make up for their other shortcomings. I will return, but with lower expectations.“
