“Charlies restaurant is a great tasting little gem in the town of East Orange. The waffles are delicious. The potatoes are delicious they make the eggs just right I really enjoy eating food from Charlies. The owner has always been kind to me, as well as the young ladies behind the counter. Always great food always great prices and the best uptown and Midtown drinks that I’ve had.“

“Wow ! Its my first time and the food is AMAZING. So full of flavor! And the service is done with kindness! He gave me the perfect amount of food. THIS IS QUALITY. I also love how they have seating !! Many places in this neighborhood don't offer comfortable seating. But Jonnys offers seating and a comfortable environment to enjoy your food! “My first time customer experience: I only had the fried chicken wings (ordered for a Super Bowl party) and they were delicious! Everyone loved them. I would have liked them fried just a little harder so you'll have to make that request, if you're like me. My only issue was I called a few days in advance to understand the procedure when ordering a large quantity of wings. On the day to order, they completely switched up on me and made me come in to pick them up immediately and when I got there, they didn't have my order ready at the time they insisted I be there. Although, I dropped everything (cooking for the party) to get there at the time they told me. Upon arriving, I received attitude because I didn't leave a name, even though they never asked me. I ended up waiting another 30 mins for my order. It cost me 1.5 hours total and I was really late for my party. I will try not to hold this against them because it was really busy for them. I would try to eat here again. I just wanted to inform anyone ordering large quantities of food to beware of that.“

“This place serves delicious food. My nephew turned us on to it. We ordered 4 different breakfast selections and all of it was so good. I had the fish and grits- DELICIOUS ?. I also have enjoyed their health drinks. Please try the Pineapple Ginger and the Sorrel. If you like ginger you will enjoy how they have incorporated the spice of ginger. So good for your health. The husband and wife are so kind and inviting. You won't be disappointed in the food or service.“

“A nice place to get combos. Probably the only place I would get it (for now).

Food- picadinho is my favorite!!! The other combos are okay. They can be dry and at times, undercooked. I am not a fan of the rice… unless it has caldo from the meat. Fries seem to be frozen prior to cooking.

Service- calling gives me anxiety. I understand they’re busy but that’s no excuse to be short with a customer or to rush them. Imagine if you’re ordering for the first time!

Parking- better than most places. Can get crowded though.

Atmosphere- it is spacious inside. Average decor. It’s nice to see the food being cooked nearby. The waitress was nice the one time I went to dine in with family. But they overcharged for orders that would’ve been cheaper had we taken the food to go. Food/spread was great though.

Pricing- decent for combos, although it did go up. Pastries are overpriced but that’s common. Tres leches is pretty good!“

“This place is a gem!! a must eat!! We found it through Uber Eats and ordered 1x. It was so good. The portions were amazing. Portions are like something grandma would serve her hungry kids. We visited and now I frequent it almost daily! Homefries platter is not for the faint of heart. You've got to have a hearty appetite or share it out. Grits platter...well...something of a southern treasure! Beef bacon egg and cheese sandwich is always a perfect on the run, goodie! We tried the shrimp over rice and that was nice. Chicken over rice was even better as it had a slight kick to it. And again, no matter what you order, bring a healthy appetite cause you're gonna need it and a long nap, after! These guys are amazing!! Truly! They're sweet! They're efficient! They can throw down on that gril!! Yummmmm Oh...and if you've never had it, their lemon ginger drink is amazeballs!! This place really is a gem in the middle of a jungle 😆 Visit them and be kind! Far too many ppl are not kind or feel entitled to speak to them ill mannered. Please don't! These guys really are good people and their food speaks for itself. Thank you gentlemen for always providing the best!!“
