“This place is GREAT!!! Decided to attend their Valentine’s Day brunch with karaoke and it was not only a great time but the food was absolutely delicious !! The owner and staff were very sweet and made my friends and I feel very good with the attentiveness. The staff was also very enthusiastic and cheered us on as we sang! They even joined in on the fun with us (our request) ! The cafe is very clean and I truly give everything a 10/10! Wishing great success to this place and I will definitely be returning!“

“Went to the brand new Houston location and things are a bit rocky with staffing and supplies but I want to brag on your employee CAMILLA ! We came from NC and after visiting Puerto Rico several times I was so excited for this experience! She was so patient with us! Answered all our questions with a very helpful and cheerful attitude even tho she was drowning in drink orders! With only one other helper, she never showed any frustration and provided excellent above and beyond customer service! The cashier with her was brand new and super sweet as well! Camilla even gave me a hug when we left! She made my whole morning! And gave us the absolute best breakfast recommendation as well! Thank u so much Camilla for your grace and kindness this morning. The food and drinks were absolutely amazing, but what truly stood out was the level of attention and thoughtfulness we received. Being noticed and having the spelling of my name acknowledged made me feel seen and valued as a guest.

Ariana deserves special recognition—she went above and beyond by customizing both coquito lattes to accommodate my sister’s and my health issues, *without sacrificing flavor at all*. I was able to just drive up this week and saw they are indeed still open, so I am revising my review to account for their tasty eats. I called and called some more but no one ever picked up the phone. Now the phone is disconnected. “It’s because of Brahim, the incredible food, drinks, and ambiance that I’m happy to give five stars. Even though my friend and I waited 15 minutes before we finally flagged a server to come to our table, it was so quickly made up by Brahim’s service, charm, and attention. Clearly there must have been a miscommunication regarding who was servicing our table because once Brahim took over, we had our food in drinks in a matter of a few MINUTES! Not to mention, kindness, charm, and attentiveness. It’s such a vibe with the tropical decor, and the food was so delicious. I will be coming back!“

I ordered the oxtail ( so good make sure you use the juice )

I also ordered the chicken and cheese ( use the hot sauce) so good 10/10

I also ordered the cuben sandwich so good I wanted another one

Last thing I got was the cheesecake and guava I wish I would had ordered two.

Came in after seeing the meal deals they have, they’ve got some great options like the 2 or 3 empanada with a drink deals, I personally got the sandwich meal with the drink and fries. Super good price! I got the turkey blt and it was so delicious, and the fries were also super yummy! The man at the front who took my order and brought my food was extremely nice and welcoming!

Very cozy inside, they have a good little seating arrangement and a TV playing random news or whatever is put on for entertainment. Great vibe!

“I was in the Penn Station area today and had a craving for fried chicken. Initially, I was thinking about going to a certain Filipino fried chicken chain, but after checking the ratings, Pollo Camino came out on top. They’ve recently opened a new branch near Penn Station, but I ended up visiting their 8th Ave location instead — a small, single-storefront shop with a simple interior.

I ordered the fried chicken set for $9.99, which came with two pieces of chicken, a piece of bread, one side, and a drink for an extra $1.
• Drink: I went with their Horchata, made with peanuts and vanilla ,milk, without the cinnamon and rice I’m used to. It had a nice aroma, refreshing, and a bit different — in a good way.
• Side: I chose yuca fries, served in large sticks. The inside was dense than potato, with a lightly crisp exterior. Personally, I wasn’t a fan — I’d say skip this and go for another side.
• Fried Chicken: Lightly battered with a noticeable blend of spices and herbs. The meat was tender, while the skin wasn’t the super-crispy kind you’d get from those well-known Louisiana or Kentucky-style chains. Flavor was solid, but here’s an important tip — just like with many fried chicken places, don’t let it sit too long. Once it cools, the saltiness becomes much more pronounced.

Service gets a full 5 stars in the fast-food category — no self-service pick-up here, they bring your food right to the table.

Overall, Pollo Camino is worth trying if you’re around Penn Station. The price is fair, the chicken is flavorful, but choose your side wisely and eat it while it’s hot. Next time I’ll try a competitor for comparison, but for now, my top spot still belongs to Louisiana chain.“

Beef empanadas are excellent, light and crispy on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside. Breads are delicious, perfect taste to dunk your coffee in.
