“Went to the brand new Houston location and things are a bit rocky with staffing and supplies but I want to brag on your employee CAMILLA ! We came from NC and after visiting Puerto Rico several times I was so excited for this experience! She was so patient with us! Answered all our questions with a very helpful and cheerful attitude even tho she was drowning in drink orders! With only one other helper, she never showed any frustration and provided excellent above and beyond customer service! The cashier with her was brand new and super sweet as well! Camilla even gave me a hug when we left! She made my whole morning! And gave us the absolute best breakfast recommendation as well! Thank u so much Camilla for your grace and kindness this morning. “Cute spot for a quick empanada snack; there are no indoor seating. The ropa vieja empanada was delicious. Not big on the carnita as it's not as flavorful as the other empanadas. Each flavor of empanada has a marking on it just in case you forget which one is which when you take them out of the separated bags . Chicken noodle soup is tomato based.“

“I love this place. It has amazing Venezuelan empanadas, patacones, arepas rellenas, and so much more. On weekends, you can enjoy hervidos 🥰 I come here ever time I can and it brings me back ❤️❤️❤️ customer service is excellent. If you have never tried Venezuelan food, you should order the combos. If you need to bring something to a summer party, bring a bunch of tequeños. The kids will eat them by the dozen.“

“I had a lot of fun. I ordered the caesar salad, amongst other things. It’s served with a spoon, which makes you go “Hm what is the spoon for?” It made for a fun little challenge at first (granted, I grazed and took about 2 hours to finish my meal) but once you get the hang of it, it’s like oh wow. Dressing was the standout; unique and memorable. Definitely one of the most interesting Caesar salads I’ve had. I had fun“

“Listen, I’ve visited New York about three times now, and every single trip I make it a priority to stop at this bodega. I first discovered it during a tour on my very first visit, and I’ve been hooked ever since.

They sell a variety of things, but let me be clear—the empanadas are the star of the show. Oh. My. Gosh. They are packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and BIG. You can literally get full off just one.

If you’re ever in the area, do yourself a favor and try their empanadas. I have to warn you though: once you taste one from this spot, you’ll never be satisfied with an empanada from anywhere else. You’ll only crave theirs.

Vegetarian options: It is not a restaurant focused on vegetarian food but they sell salads, juices and a person who does not eat meat can still enjoy a good meal.

Kid-friendliness: It is a clean, quiet place, the staff is friendly and polite and the restaurant in my opinion does not represent any risk for a minor.

Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp so that a person in a wheelchair or other device that supports walking has the accessibility of being able to enter the premises without major difficulties.“

“This is the best smoothie place hands down. You need to get your smoothie done by a girl, not a guy. Preferably the chunky girl.They make it perfect. Not too liquidated, just perfect frothy texture. Anytime I cheat on this place I’m like why did I do it? And they make the beeestttt empanadas. Not too oily , just perfectly cooked. I love this place. And thank god I don’t live near because I would easily weigh 600 pounds.“

“A beef empanada from this cart on Austin Street was the first thing I ever ate when I moved to NYC. Y'all, it was GREAT. The local who insisted I had to grab one as we walked by absolutely knew what he was talking about. Abuela's Empanadas was my introduction to the fat-kid status that would come to describe the entire time I lived in New York City as a Midwestern transplant, lol. I still remember my eyes popping out of my head as I realized how good this was and that if this was what I was getting from a random food cart, I'd want to try every restaurant in the city.“

It is a place where you can enjoy with family and children and there is a secluded place where they can play pool, super cool for men and they also have a bar. In case you go alone or alone. Parking: On the day of an event it is difficult to find but there is parking on the side and in front of the restaurant

Kid-friendliness: If children can go to eat. Sometimes I have taken my 2 children, ages 5 and 8. Obio we eat and we leave. Because then they get bored and want to run and I don't like to bother others who come to eat either.“
