“Since I cannot cook right now, my Chef friend Amy Phillips Manzione from Stir It Up in Northfield has been providing our meals. She changes her menus weekly and the food is delicious. From Citrus Salmon to sweet potato burgers, lentil loaf, beef gyro, eggplant dishes, turkey burgers and chicken spinach meatballs-the entrees are delicious, healthy and a lot of gf and vegan items, which is rare in this area. Her side offerings are amazing-sweet potato wedges, blue cheese slaw, jicama citrus salad, aloo potatoes and blueberry protein bars. The desserts are perfection, from the mini key lime pies(mom’s favorite) to the peanut butter cookies, which are so good I only order one at a time…. She also does special holiday menus So, if you are in the area, or driving through on your way to the beach, stop in and pick up a great meal! And I need to tell you how we met…. Just a few months into the pandemic, I had a 3 day gig in AC. After the first night. I was feeling awful enough to go to the ER. I didn’t expect to be kept overnight for testing. I didn’t know Amy, I had only been in her shop once. I decided to call to randomly see if she could cover my gig-explaining the situation. She accepted without hesitation and then would not let me pay her for jumping in. I was blown away. Because, who does that? She didn’t know anything about me. So, in addition to her talent as a Chef, she is an incredible human 💕💕“

Today we ventured to Egg Harbor Township and the Shop Rite Shopping center to find a local spot to have a fabulous lunch & voila we actually found THE Local Spot Restaurant! A Breakfast & lunch haven open from 8 am to 3 pm everyday of the week! As we ventured in we see booths and a welcoming counter and in the back many more spacious tables. Joining yours truly today was my travelling companion always my Nan and her cousin Theresa. We get Nicole a very engaging young lady who would be our server today and then we also met Danielle and we were doubly happy! Great young ladies who did not just robot the order they were informative, enjoyed the banter and actually were both a breath of fresh air from the normal may I help you no personality people many of you have said to me you are not happy with! It's always nice to smile when greeting your customers! I started off with the lentil soup and the ladies had the appetizer sampler with Onion Rings, Mozzarella Sticks & Jalapeno Peppers. Lunch was the Corned Beef Grilled Reuben, Grilled Chicken Gyro and for yours truly it was the Big Boy Cheese Steak with Fried Onions & Peppers! We gave the meals six thumbs up! We also gave our servers a standing ovation. And they are so easy to find. Heading east on the black horse pike you'll see the shopping center entrance just past the Burger King. Turn right and go to the end of the road & it's right in front of you! Find a place to park, walk in and get ready for a great breakfast or lunch. We all had to get boxes as the portions were to say the least generous. We met Steve at the main window and he's handling the abundance of take out orders and if you want to join in for a take out call 609-568-5197 but the recommendation here is you make time to visit not just a local spot but THE Local Spot in EHT and ask for Nicole or Danielle. It was a great time had by all of us and as we left they even reached out to say goodbye and in todays culinary world that's not the norm. Total for a tremendous lunch for three right about $50. “Really good! Late afternoon meal and only had lunch food but all was super good. I consider myself a Burger officianado and the Hitzel burger was incredible. Fries had awesome seasoning. The small stromboli was huge. Staff was super friendly. We stopped there because it is a byob and a favorite brewery of mine is only 50 yards away so had some fresh brew with a great meal.“

“I went on a weekend trip to the shore and needed to go to Walmart to grab a few things. I decided to get some sushi from the nearest location and was met with one of the best experiences I’ve had at a sushi restaurant.

The service itself was quick, taking only 5~ minutes to complete my entire order. The food was fresh, generously portioned, and it only cost us $20 for two rolls, an appetizer, salad and soup. The meal ended up being so good that I drove 25 minutes that same day to taste it again. All the employees had a big smile on their faces when we walked back in, and I left with a 10% coupon if we decided to go again.

“My wife and I went to Tacos El Tio tonight and had a great experience we’ve been here many times and always received great service but this time it was even better our server Jorge was great he was on point with everything keeping our glasses full all night and bringing the food out in in a timely manor Jorge made us feel at home you have a great server there we will definitely ask for him when come back and as usual the food was great“

“Every single time I eat here, I am impressed! I've had breakfast, lunch and dinner and everything is delicious. The service, the atmosphere all top notch. On a side note, I love tuna fish, and they use white tuna, just the right amount of mayo, delish!“

“Mr. Wonton in EHT is by far our favorite Chinese food place. We’ve tried a few other places locally, and nothing really compares as far as the general chicken quality and taste. They also have a better dipping sauce with the steamed dumplings, and they hook you up with a bigger container than the other places would. For as long as we’ve been ordering, we’ve never had a bad dish from here. Five stars! :)“

“I LOVE this place!! This was my first time and I will definitely be coming back. I went to pick up, I live 10 minutes away and my order was ready and hot when I arrived.

Vegetarian options: As a vegetarian it can be difficult to get vegetarian options when eating out, I had no worries because when I asked there was no confusion or trouble for the option.“

Two thumbs up to Michael (Manager) and Steve (Owner) for outstanding service and attention to detail. Finally, a sandwich shop that slices their own deli; and doesn't use AC bread. ☆☆☆☆☆“

“Well I definitely been getting my pizza here since I've lived here, which is over 30 years. I'm not sure when they opened or if they changed ownership or whatever but usually they're my go-to for regular or Sicilian pizza and definitely wings. I like their wing sauce, I usually get mild. It did seem like the wing sauce is less thick than normal, it usually has a thicker consistency and sticks to the wings, last night it didn't do that seemed thin.. The main reason you got a four out of five.“

“I really needed a waffle with ice cream. The waffle was awesome but the ice cream was mehhhh. The chicken soup was great. Iced tea was kinda weird. Our waiter was fantastic and a very enthusiastic and cheerful dude overall. The diner definitely had a NJ diner vibe with regulars being greeted like family, which I love seeing.

“As always delicious bbq. We had a group of 6 and ordered a little of everything ( wings, jalapeño sausage, ribs, brisket, and sides: mac & cheese, loaded mashed potatoes, coleslaw). All of it was great and no one complained- everyone's favorite: the brisket.“
