“Absolutely one of the best jerk chicken lunch I’ve ever had in years. My mother ate their Oxtail stew dish and it was delicious too. Full flavoured food with excellent quality & portion. Friendly helpful staff are also welcoming. I bought the fried whiting fish fillets and some fried chicken wings to take home. Will definitely be back again to eat all the other dishes! Yummy ? proper jerk chicken with rice & beans that were moist not dry like other places we’ve tried in Manhattan.

“I’ve been here twice and gotten the oxtails with, plantains and rice and beans. The flavor is out of this world and the oxtail is incredibly tender. They were also generous with their portion sizes. I really enjoyed the meal so much! They offer a lunch special, medium and large size for dishes.“

“I get so excited every time we get a chance to visit Oracabessa. This is my favorite go to spot for delicious, authentic, home style Jamaican food, that always hits the spot. Regardless the time of day, Breakfast, lunch, or dinner, they gotcha! The food tastes like someone has poured love and magic into every bite and the portion sizes are Nice! While I have my faves, I totally recommend you try everything and see for yourself.

“I Ordered the Large Oxtails and J*** BBQ Chicken . Both dishes were good and definitely worth the detour we took to get there. Oxails wasn't tough, it was almostmeltingin my mouth. The server was very nice and was ok with answering my questions. So service 5, taste food 5 but the decor of the store is definitely a 2. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong. it's a good store and I would definitely eat here a million more times.“

“Customer Service was great. I was in desperate need of some fried plantain (lol) and stoped here. When I got inside they said none was prepared. I explained how I didn’t want anything else that morning besides that. The lady in the front asked the Chef if he had any, he checked and they did. The chef made the plantain and it was done in no time. Im so appreciative because for them It was not about a customer only potentially spending a dollar on an order of plantain. They took the time to make someone’s day better with what ever inconveniences they might have had. Most restaurants would have said they don’t have it and wouldn’t even attempt to make more even if they could. Thank you guys and I will definitely be coming back to try things on the menu. “This is a great place to eat. Vendors are friendly and food is really good. The j*** chicken was my favorite (really hot, yes!) and the rice is soft, well cooked. They also have a variety of salad mix. The potato salad was really good. I'm not a fish eater but even the seafood smell good. Price is reasonable, I think it's 9$ a pound but less money if the weight is less. It's definitely worth it.

“I absolutely LOVE the food. I got a plate with oxtails, rice & peas, plantains and he makes sure your plate is full. Everything tasted like it was seasoned perfectly, the gravy was surprisingly light and delicious. I’m 1000% going back.
I sincerely doubt the bad reviews are from him, the plates aren’t even the same. I met his Mom too and she was really sweet! Made the experience even better ?

“This is not a sit-down restaurant. There's maybe 4 stools to sit on if you wish to eat there and that's it. This is the Caribbean restaurant I frequent most in this area. I haven't had any plates that disappointed so far. Fried chicken, brown stew chicken, oxtail, callaloo and salt fish... all great. They cook with a good amount of pepper. I have a low tolerance for hot food but i do well here. Just don't come here expecting patties; they don't do that here.“
