“I am SHOCKED at the quality of this humble food truck. The samosas, chili chicken, and saag paneer are as good or better than many local Indian restaurants —fantastic flavors and ingredient quality. The kindness and pride in her work of the woman behind the meal is also wonderful to see and so much appreciated. The affordable prices also mean I can make this cart a regular addition to my takeout rotation. Note — because everything is fresh it does take some time to prepare, I would say more than your average cart. I wouldn't at all let this deter you from grabbing food here, I would just recommend calling ahead.“

“Without a doubt one of the friendliest people in Philadelphia serving up some of the best and freshest halal you can find. I go 2-3 times a week and singlehandedly keeps me fed on my days off from work. I cannot even begin to say how great the food and service is as there is simply nothing else like it in Philadelphia. “Where can you find a good quality tasty and satisfying lunch that's for less than $10 in town? Penn Halal food truck on 40th and Locust that's where! I didn't even have to ask for hot sauce because it's offered on most platters along with white sauce. (Definitely choose both. )There's plenty of seating on nearby benches and the campus grass too. If the weather is nice it's all the atmosphere you need!“

“Some of the best Indian food in the world (outside of India) is located in the United Kingdom and in this Kingsessing restaurant. Usually, Indian food found in the US tends to be served in a very thick, heavy sauce. This place took me back to the UK joints I loved in 2019 and 2024. The chicken curry sauce was a perfect blend of spices and broth which meshed nicely with the basmati rice and naan. This is my first time eating their food but will certainly not be my last. EXCELLENT JOB!!

“This has been my favorite halal cart in the city for some time. If you live in the city you know there are bad carts and good carts, this is one of the best. Lamb and falafel are excellent. Service is quick and it's surrounded by perfect places to sit and eat. You will not be disappointed here. He isnt open too late, it varies with weather and time of year, but get there quickly after work. 5-6 pm he is usually still there.“

“I have recently become a frequent customer of Al Baraka and Falafel king next door. The market has quality meat selection for great prices and I prefer it to other grocery stores. The owners are some of the kindest people I have ever met. Abu Tata is always generous in helping me pick products! Abu Said has gone out of his way to make me a special order of knafeh (kunafa) which has become my new favorite dessert in the world! I have since tried it from other shops and restaurants but no where makes it as good as Al Baraka! I recommend everyone stop in and shop around and try something different! And definitely try the knafeh because it is out of this world!“

“Tried them out today because I saw JL Jupitor review them on youtube! We got the Szechuan beef lunch special, the shrimp with garlic sauce lunch special, and one egg roll. Everything was made fresh and it was soooo good. I LOVED their egg roll especially but forgot to take a picture. We came when they opened at 12pm and they were already busy. They made our order faster than I expected which was great. I also love that they include a soda can with the lunch special. It's a great value for the price!! “This place was a short walk from my hotel so I came here a few times. It's named Ed's on the outside. They have halal options and the food was great! I tried a variety of stuff from here and each one did not disappoint. If you want a good halal cheesesteak come here. It's always busy and filled with college kids. The staff is also nice!“
