I go 2-3 times a week and singlehandedly keeps me fed on my days off from work. I cannot even begin to say how great the food and service is as there is simply nothing else like it in Philadelphia. First, the owners of the truck are particularly friendly and generous to people in this area. Next, I absolutely love their chili chicken over rice. It is extremely flavorful and quite spicy. It's a refreshing and lighter alternative to the heavier foods served by trucks around this area. I can't recommend this dish enough. I also enjoy the $1 naan. They all taste great. I would have asked for a smaller portion if I knew it was so huge! It can be lunch and dinner for me. For my son, the big portion is a plus on top of the great taste.“

“Really liked the food here. The hot chicken had a nice crispy coating and good flavor, with just enough heat from the seasoning. The gyro was good too. The meat was tender, the toppings were fresh, and the sauce wasn't too heavy.

“Some of the best Indian food in the world (outside of India) is located in the United Kingdom and in this Kingsessing restaurant. Usually, Indian food found in the US tends to be served in a very thick, heavy sauce. This place took me back to the UK joints I loved in 2019 and 2024. The chicken curry sauce was a perfect blend of spices and broth which meshed nicely with the basmati rice and naan. This is my first time eating their food but will certainly not be my last. EXCELLENT JOB!!

“Where can you find a good quality tasty and satisfying lunch that's for less than $10 in town? Penn Halal food truck on 40th and Locust that's where! I didn't even have to ask for hot sauce because it's offered on most platters along with white sauce. (Definitely choose both. )There's plenty of seating on nearby benches and the campus grass too. If the weather is nice it's all the atmosphere you need!“

My boyfriend and I ordered the lamb and chicken over rice with the white sauce, and it was SO good. No joke—we literally licked our plates clean! The meat was flavorful and tender, the rice was perfectly cooked, and that white sauce tied everything together.
The milkshakes were another surprise. They weren’t overly sweet like a lot of places make them. They were rich, creamy, and actually tasted like the flavor we ordered instead of just sugar.
The salad that came with the rice was super fresh too. It had crisp lettuce, thinly sliced cucumbers, chickpeas, sweet peppers, and hot peppers. You can tell they care about the quality of their food.
The restaurant itself was also incredibly clean, which made the whole experience even better. It’s always nice to eat somewhere that’s well-kept and spotless.
What really made our visit stand out was the customer service. The husband and wife were both so kind, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel appreciated as customers.
The prices are great for the amount and quality of food you get. We’ll definitely be coming back, and next time I’m finally trying the banana pudding because it looked absolutely delicious!

“I visited the truck during my lunch break to pick up lunch for me and my mother. We both got the chicken over rice with the salad. The man in the truck was very nice and personable. The person in front of me ordered six plates, and he served them promptly. When it was my turn order, he greeted me warmly and served the food fairly quickly. The food is delicious and the portions are great, the meal comes with a drink as well. it's a plentiful serving because I only ate half for dinner and had the other half the next day for lunch and it was just as delicious. I think overall, you can't beat the delectable taste with the price. 10/10“

“This review is about the second Khan truck that serves smash burgers, fries. The truck is right next to the OG Khan's Halal food truck.

The burger, fries, their secret sauce ... everything was delicious. Burger had pickles and caramelized onions. Bun was soft and smashed patty was juicy. Not at all dry. And it had a slice of cheese. Cost under $10.

The Pakistani guy who was making the burger was well mannered and spoke English very well. I highly recommend this truck.“

“This has been my favorite halal cart in the city for some time. If you live in the city you know there are bad carts and good carts, this is one of the best. Lamb and falafel are excellent. Service is quick and it's surrounded by perfect places to sit and eat. You will not be disappointed here. He isnt open too late, it varies with weather and time of year, but get there quickly after work. 5-6 pm he is usually still there.“

“I have recently become a frequent customer of Al Baraka and Falafel king next door. The market has quality meat selection for great prices and I prefer it to other grocery stores. The owners are some of the kindest people I have ever met. Abu Tata is always generous in helping me pick products! Abu Said has gone out of his way to make me a special order of knafeh (kunafa) which has become my new favorite dessert in the world! I have since tried it from other shops and restaurants but no where makes it as good as Al Baraka! I recommend everyone stop in and shop around and try something different! “I got the lamb over rice with salad (came with a drink too). The food was good enough. Definitely not someplace I’d go out of my way to come back to, but also not a place I’d avoid.

Gentleman who took my order did not have a good grasp on English, so he didn’t quite understand my request for modifications. But he had the food ready insanely quick (like less than two minutes). And he was patient with my hearing impairment and seemed overall sweet.

Ordering can be done inside the gas station on the left-most side of the counter.
