“The food is very very good. It's a little spicy so for people who don't like spicy food or don't eat spicy food you might want to ask what is spicy before you make your specific food item. All the ingredients can be mixed well or if you like or keep them slightly separate you can. What I prefer to get is the bowl option.( You get a little more for your money.) So for condiments you want or anything on the side(you just have to ask and they will do whichever you like) they have extra shredded cheese guacamole queso blanco and sour cream.( Basically honestly you can put anything you want/prefer on the side.)They also have a Mr.Pibbs that is amazingly fantastic!!!“

“If you are looking for a place that serves authentic Mexican food, then South Philly Barbacoa is the place. The food is delicious and is really cheap. They are known for their lamb tacos, and you must try it if you come here. It's cash only I believe.“

“We went for dinner around 5pm today with a group of 7 and everything was fantastic!!! The food was so fresh and flavorful. You can definitely tell they put love into their food and pride themselves on great presentation. BYOB with great mixers and smoothies. The service was very attentive and friendly. “We randomly found this place while visiting Philly and it was SO good! I got guacamole (it was GOOD and FRESH and NOT brown) I also got a steak tostada and a steak taco - the salsas are sooooo good the red one is spicy but me likely spicy so thumbs up. My friend got a veggie burrito and it was so good for her she threw it down in pure excitement! Also super support their lack of coke products <3.“

“Didn’t have to decide between church and brunch! I just tried La Catedral for the first time as I’ve been wanting to try this neighborhood spot for awhile. It seems like this place is slept on gem compared to other NoLibs brunch spots. We had the omelette plate and plaintain French toast and it was sooo flavorful and delicious. Will be coming here as my main brunch spot from now on.“

“Our second visit on 9/18/2025. We were celebrating my birthday and I’m glad I chose to come. The food was delicious and our byob of choice was Tequila. Margaritas were made and did not disappoint us. Noelia our server was amazing. Very kind and friendly as well as accommodating at all times with a smile. She even saw us leaving and made sure to say goodbye and so did the hostess. We were also happy to get to see the Mgr before she got off for the night and she remembered us from our very first visit. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“This is my new favorite spot in old city! Everything is so good… from the burritos (both breakfast and lunch/dinner), matcha (with the horchata!) and tacos!! The customer service is a 10/10 as well. I get something at least once a week since it’s right around the corner. I’ve done takeout and dine in - the quality is the same for each. Well priced too! Highly highly recommend!!“

“Stumbled across this spot on DoorDash and decided to drive to it since it was 5 minutes away from my house. These were some of the best tacos I ever tasted. Them shrimp tacos are AMAZING!!! The guy and girl in there was very nice and displayed great customer service. Give this place a try, you won’t regret it. Also get the supreme shrimp tacos!!“

“I stopped into this spot after Joel, the owner, had posted it out on another platform. The street tacos were deliciously messy. There was such a great portion of meat on each taco I was only able to eat 3 of 4. The ability to customize my taco was wonderful! Ask for extra napkins + limes. I will be returning often here for sure. Plus, they cater! And there are even delivery options. Great local, neighborhood spot! 5 out of 5!“

“First time customer. Found them here on Google because of 4.5 reviews and close to home. Online menu is not correct with offerings and prices. We ordered on the phone and the worker was very pleasant and helpful. We ordered empanadas, a drizzle burrito and a mix burrito. For dessert we ordered chimichanga cheesecake. On arrival the worker was very pleasant. There is a 3% charge to use your card or tap. Food was average. Presentation was good and food looks very appealing. The drizzle burrito was good. Jalapenos made it spicy but it had too much rice in it as filler as opposed to more carne asada. The mix burrito didn't have any wraps or even shells and I didn't think I would have to ask for them and I didn't. The meat was very thinly sliced and grilled. It was good but underwhelming. Our empanadas..I ordered a 5 pack upgraded to 2 chicken/1 carne asada/1 pork/1 ground beef. We received 2 chicken and 3 ground beef. They were pretty. The wrap was nice. They were very greasy. The chimichanga cheesecake was good it was a slice of cheesecake wrapped in a flour tortilla then coated in cinnamon sugar. Overall it was good but could be better. They do have more items on the menu that's not online like birria.“

“I went to Palenque with my family today, 2 young kids and my two in laws who are a bit older. Please note that my Chinese in laws aren’t the most adventurous when it comes to food, but we all loved the food! We ordered a Mole Poblano, Al Pastor, Beef Tongue and Fish tacos, and a Guacamole. Portion sizes were great, all the meats and ingredients were cooked impeccably and authentically. I particularly loved the Mole, the sauce was rich and flavourful, and its consistency was smooth and creamy like the best out there. Will definitely love to come back again some day! Highly recommended.“
