“We had an amazing time and ate delicious Peruvian food at this pretty establishment. We have eaten lots of Peruvian food in our past, and this one tops them all. The octopus dish is 10/10 and the tuna ceviche as well. Make sure you order some rice on the side to clean up your extra sauces. We sat at the bar and were served/entertained by the very charismatic and prompt bartender Jasmine. Great times. Great food. Would return in a heartbeat, despite living 6 hours away.“

“Everything was so good. We ordered a variety - including their chicken, jalea (think fried seafood mix DONE RIGHT), empanadas, chaufa, and flan. I'm not a flan person, but this was THE BEST FLAN I've ever had.
The empanadas are baked, perfectly seasoned, and feel homemade with love. The owners were so attentive and thoughtful, giving us great recommendations. I would 100% be back.“

“It’s my go to place for lunch, fresh and delicious choices, simply menu, not overwhelming. Staff are friendly, service is fast, the space is clean, bright, and well organized. Although there are only couple seats inside, it doesn’t feel crowded. I love the bold flavors and colors of every dish, beef, chicken, shrimp, tuna, tofu, and mushroom bowls are all amazing. Highly recommended!“

“Really hyped, and with a lot of reviews, the expectations were high.
What was good?
When for starters the chicken was indeed quite good. But in the context of other Peruvian chicken I’ve had in the past, it was not extraordinary. Yes the skin was crispy and the meat was juicy. The arroz chaufa hit all the savory notes that I was looking for too. The sangria didn’t disappoint either.
What was bad?
Overall, not too much other than the sporadic and slightly chaotic service. Not necessarily any marks against Pio Pio for this, I think it was just a busy night.
The main issue I had was the frozen chicken used in the arroz chaufa. In a restaurant that is known for its chicken, you wouldn’t think they would cheap out on it at any point. But, this was simply not the case. It was dry, chewy, and clearly not as fresh as their rotisserie chicken.
It didn’t scare me off entirely from going back, but I was disappointed to say the least. Most people have extremely low bars for chicken as a meat they would spend money on at a restaurant. Don’t give people a reason to complain I just don’t get it. Looking back on it, I would have said something or sent the dish back, not because I’m an asshole, but because I know they can do better.“

“After coming out of Thalia Spanish Theater, we crossed the street to Costa y Mar for dinner.
We were greeted by a very pleasant waitress who immediately sat us down after greeting us.
Once we ordered our food, the food was delivered promptly and it was delicious!!!
We ordered different entrees and they were all delicious and plentiful!!!
We found it to be a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back!!!

“This is a local Chinese/Peruvian food restaurant that gives new meaning to Chinese food! This fusion of flavors is amazing! I’ve had the steak with tostones, their chicharrón de pollo & many other delectable dishes. They also have a nice bar & make excellent Pisco sours which I can’t find in too many places! I live in Rockland County & the hubby & I take the trip about monthly just to eat here! Nothing fancy about the restaurant but definitely good eats! Highly recommend! The hubby &!I will definitely be back! 😋😋😋“

“I went to Tozton today to celebrate my birthday after seeing an ad on Tiktok and it was definitely a great decision.
The food was delicious, the sautéed loin, the green noodles, the pavilion, the ground beef cakes and the shredded meat cakes. Natural juices, drinks like margaritas and mojitos; on point, ten out of ten.
The attention of all the waitresses was excellent, they even decorated my table with balloons. Thank you Emily and Natalia for your impeccable service.
It was also easy to find parking near the restaurant. It is very spacious and tables can be organized for large birthday celebrations.
Totally recommended in Astoria.“
