“The food here is everything you expect in a Peruvian restaurant. The chauvan mix to is amazing. It's a house fried rice with chicken and beef in it. You can also have shrimp in it. OMG awesome. Family owned business and they treat everyone with the utmost respect.“
“I had the weeknight prix fixe meal, which was quite good. The scallop ceviche was unique and one of the best ceviches I've had. The mussels were delicious and the chocolate flan was so silky and luxurious. The cococontento cocktail was perfection. The atmosphere is quaint and lovely. The vibe and the staff are great and the music is excellent but not too loud to enjoy dinner conversation. Definitely will return.“
“Quality and taste of their food, 6 out of 5!Their friendly and helpful service 5 out of 5Their cozy, casual and calm environment 5 out of 5.For food, I recommend Braised Leek, grilled octopus, and of course you must try their famous ceviche. Don't go for their steak, it's not as good as their seafood. For best service, go for James Asitimbay as the waiter. He deserves every penny of the tip he receives.“
“Excellent experience overall. We had some expectations for this restaurant and we were blown away with how amazing was the food.We are food lovers and travel al over the world booking the best reviewed restaurants. We were amazed with the dishes and the desert. The dishes that stood out the most for us were the scallop ceviche , the Patarashca whole fish and the two deserts we had were the lucuma flan and the Chirimoya .AMAZING!!!Will be visiting again very soon!“
“Excellent place for a family or couple reunion, good atmosphere, good music ? the best thing is the very good attention, very attentive to every detail until the opportunity to meet the chef personally, in particular I usually detail the dishes but on this occasion he was up to the task one of the best ? to go again, the drinks excellent at their point, good teacher“
“We had a great time for brunch and got the prefix. Service was great and pretty spacious. Open kitchen had decent ventilation but we still kind smelled smoky after. But the sky light provided really nice lighting and was cool to see food prep. We liked the scallops, calamari, katsu, and tres leche. Wagyu was overcooked and the chocolate tart was very bland, instead of cream some gelato would’ve been better. Tuna melt looked really good will have to try that next time.“
“Amazing food and service - we had a fantastic server who recommended great dishes. Definitely try a ceviche and fried yucca! The meat dishes and skewers were all great as well, and the cheesecake lived up to the hype!Atmosphere was great, good amount of seating and nice clean restaurant. Definitely recommend!“
“Pio Pio is always a great option for a delicious Peruvian feast - been here too many times to count and always get the matadors platter w/ maduros instead of the salchipapas and sangria for the table! Great option for large groups and they take reservations too! Bueno!“
“What a great hidden gem! The food is great and extremely fresh seafood! The ceviche mixto was flavorful and great portion to share. The highlight of the meal was the dessert, homemade ice cream that was creamy and unique! Will definitely go back!!“
“Food amazing, staff amazing, hospitality amazing. Everything was very fresh, seafood cooked perfectly and the corn nuts are fun. Came with a large party and Tito took care of us, if you’re on the fence about dining here, you shouldn’t be.“
“Kausa is the gem of this Avenue. The service / atmosphere is great and reflects how much they care about their customers, from the boss to employees. Our server Karla was spectacular, friendly, charismatic and well tendered our experience. The food was tasty and the mixologist drinks were top notch. This spot is highly recommended for your Peruvian cuisine.“
“When I found out this family business is co-owned by a fellow Queens College Alum, I had to come!!! It's so inviting and the hostess (sister) was more than accommodating. We were seated quickly and we were able to see the menu both print and via QR Code. We (my husband and I) loved the drink we had as well as the Aji Galina and Arroz Chaufa con Pollo. Extra sauces and a small corn based appetizer was given right away as well. I also appreciated the clean bathroom, which has a urinal and normal toilet, also ADA/wheelchair friendly. The music was excellent too. The fact that this is also family friendly is the ultimate selling point. There's something on the menu for everyone. I will definitely come back with my in laws! This is the freshest, best Peruvian in NYS!!! I WISH YOU ALL THE SUCCESS AND DECADES IN BUSINESS!“
“Glad we found this place while searching for a lunch spot in Harlem. The service was super warm and friendly (¡gracias, Pablo!), and we can highly recommend the Lomo Saltado and the Arroz Chaufa Mariscos, which were both delicious. I've already bookmarked this place and will definitely be back to try some of the other things on the menu.“
“I had such a great time at Dora's Thursday happy hour. Great place to reunite with friends. Food was good, drinks well priced and the owner was a delight. My steak came out a little less red than I like but the flavor was delicious. One of my friends requested to add chicken to her pasta and the owner was happy to accommodate and my friend loved her dish.Vegetarian options: No meat Pasta, salad and vegetable dishes were on the menu .Dietary restrictions: There was enough of a variety for all to enjoy.Wheelchair accessibility: There was a gentleman in a wheelchair that appeared to be able to get around easily. Spacious dining area.“
“The associates and manager were incredibly personable, courteous, and helpful. The ambiance was great and not too loud to take my wife and mother-in-law who was visiting from out of town. The food was also delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone!“
“Stopped by on a sunday night with friends. The lambchops with mash potatoes were pretty good.I'd say avoid the teapot shots and just get normal cocktails if you need a drink. You're just wasting money watering down your alcohol. Fun idea, though:)Kid-friendliness: There were kids and more than enough space to move around.“
“Well, the place is very nice, the service in general is very good, I recommend it 100%, it covers all expectations, greetings to inca paisa!!!! Katherine, Valentina and Sthephany very good serversParking: Very good, very reliableKid-friendliness: Of course the atmosphere is familiar“
“Came by for an early dinner on a Saturday night. This place is a little outside the busy main Astoria area. The outside looks very minimalistic you wouldn't know it's Peruvian just passing by. From the drinks to the entree, everything was tasty and portioned well although slightly on the pricier side. One cocktail, fruit drink, arepa small dish, ceviche mixto, and entree came out to $100 after tip.“
“Tasty Peruvian food in the neighborhood! Everything was seasoned well and balanced by the mild sweetness of chiacha morada we had as well. Really enjoyed the pasta, it was creamy but not heavy. And always a fan of Peruvian style chicken. Portions were also generous. Loved trying the lucuma ice cream and picarones for the first time too, ended up eating them together and the fresh warm picarones paired well with the cold ice cream. Flavors were great. Need to swing by for a weekday lunch at some point! Service was also super fast and helpful.“
“This place surprised me brunch is a must here great music live dj great vibes awesome staff good drinks well priced brunch menu and drinks overall this place is solidVegetarian options: Definitely will be happy hereDietary restrictions: Yes they walk you through it all again manager and staff amazingParking: Parking is kind of hard but not really depending on the time for brunch street parking is definitely available in the area and Sundays meters are freeKid-friendliness: Yes and again the staff and management will make them and you feel at homeWheelchair accessibility: Yeah it’s wheelchair accessible and the staff is amazing“
“Last night I had the ABSOLUTE BEST MEAL OF MY LIFE at this restaurant! Every bite was pure bliss! I would love to give specific recommendations, but I don't think you can go wrong here! By far and away, this is now my favorite restaurant in all of New York!“
“We were waiting on King Kog to fix my bike, so we decided on Peruvian. This place seemed a bit pricey to me but whatever. I gotta say, the food was DELICIOUS and the portions were YUGE. definitely worth the money. The service was prompt and friendly and the atmosphere was quaint. I gotta give 5 stars here. I’ll be back.“
“I finally tried this place I walked past all the time at Essex Market. I love Peruvian food and was just there a couple months before, so was looking to rekindle some memories. I was in the Andes, and most Peruvian restaurants here offer Lima style foods, but chauffa, or fried rice, is everywhere. That they offer a quinoa version is a welcome healthy option, and I chose the mixed, which comes with chicken and shrimp. When I opened the container, it smelled so delicious with wafts of sesame and onions. Sadly, mine was a bit under seasoned, needing salt, but their delicious green sauce helped elevate the flavors. Will ask for salt next time.“
“CASH ONLY.The ribs had the typical Chinese 5 spice flavor, and it came with a green salsa. The salsa made the food less dry but wouldn't say it was the perfect pairing. The fried rice that came with the meal reminded me of greasy Americanized Chinese food. For the value, the place was great. The portion sizes were large. The side salad reminded me of something I expect from a bento box. It was a little too saucy. The chicken was cooked to perfection.Takeout took less than 7 minutes.Tldr: unassuming "rotisserie and bbq diner" place with cafe style seating. You don't come here for the ambiance.“
“The food is AMAZING! Authentic Peruvian cuisine, I was not let down. Everything is so flavorful, drink were super good, and they even had traditional non-alcoholic Peruvian drinks. Nice to know there is a local spot we can go to thats top notch instead of going into Queens for Peruvian food. Highly recommend!“
“This is an amazing and underrated spot. Not only are the Ceviches authentically recreated, the star of the show, the Molkajete is one of the best Mexican grill showcases around. The Peruvian dishes like the Lomo saltado maybe be a bit untraditional in presentation but the flavor is to die for. I highly recommend you come, try the amazing food, and say hello to the wonderful owners.“
“Absolutely fantastic, I've been meaning to come here for a year and finally did. Service was excellent, food was great, extremely quick, and very reasonably priced for LICTheir HH drink menu looked good too although I didn't partake“
“Place was ok. Kitchen closed early. And their drinks are insanely overpriced. Gruitity was automatically included, which I didn't know but good to know for next time. DJ was really on point! I would visit again but I'll pregame on my own.“
“The good is still very good I haven't been here in 6 years, small little. Ozzy restaurant service is good the staff friendly the ambiance it's nice family friendly, nice to bring date , they do have a variety of good so read the menu well food is delicious. This place has been around for over 20 year, last good restaurant in the area“
“This was a last min choice me and my family went to since the other restaurant we were going to had just closed. I don’t regret choosing to celebrate my birthday here. I had so much fun and Loved the decorations, especially the mirrors. Food,Service and atmosphere was excellent.“
“Absolutely superb Peruvian food served by very nice folk. We had a trio of ceviche, a huge cauldron of chicken noodle soup (we took home a quart of leftovers. But the best was potatoes w/three cremas. The yellow was good, the red had a touch of spice, and the green was wonderfully earthy. We want to return with a group to explore more of the menu. The service was warm and caring.“
“small space inside + friendly + quick service. $60 matador combo was perfect for 4 - included whole rotisserie chicken + avocado salad + tostones + fries and salchicha/salchipapas + plate of red beans and yellow rice. ask for the green + spicy/kick salsa.“
“Came to this place today, Sunday, for early lunch with the family. Since we were the only customers at that moment, we knew that we would get our orders pretty fast and we were all hungry. The place looked great and food even better! Anticuchos and Jalea is what we ordered appetizers and the specials of the day, Baked Fish and Arroz de Mariscos were really delicious. The classic Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken could not be forgotten which was just as good. Definitely recommend this place. Wished I had my phone to show how great all our orders looked. We’ll be back whenever we are in the area for sure!!“
“Fantastic food and service! I originally tried to order on Uber Eats and the restaurant website online for delivery, but neither would allow me. I finally called the restaurant who graciously offered to deliver to Astoria without hesitation, on a snowstorm day (of course I added tip to my order, that was incredibly kind). The food arrived with a very kind gentleman, and it was absolutely delicious! Very happy with this place - will definitely be back :) ..thank you so much!“
“Never had Chinese Peruvian food before so was very intrigued. Came on a weekday night and was surprised that the store was packed. Was able to get seated quickly and they allowed us (2 people) to sit at a 4 person table which was very nice of them. - Complimentary Bread - I don't know what they put in this bread, but I was a huge fan. The bread was so soft and hot... and with the butter, it was just perfection. I also loved the crust as it was very flaky and crisp. I could just eat this as a whole meal and be happy. - Lomo Saltado (Beef) - I was not a big fan of the fried rice on the side but this was one of the best Lomo Saltado I've had in the city. The tomatoes and onions were cooked to perfection as they were very soft and packed with flavor. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The beef was also very tender but crispy at the same time. - Chinese Style Squid Fried Rice - Not a big fan. Feel like there was a strong oily after-taste like the fried rice in the Lomo Saltado. I did appreciate how many ingredients there were, but it didn't feel very appetizing. Overall, would just recommend the bread and the Lomo Saltado if you do come here. Also, I have to say that it's refreshing to watch all the servers play around, it made me very happy to know that they all are great friends with one another.“
“Amazing food :) some of the best, if not the best, Peruvian food in nyc ❤️ tastes like some of the good stuff you can find in Lima. The wait staff is so friendly and lovely. I took my friend here for the first time and he fell in love with the cuisine. You won’t be disappointed if you come here :)))) xo “
“The restaurant is quaint with about 10-15 tables. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes and able to make some recommendations. I had dinner on a weekday and it was not packed and there was no seating time limit, which is amazing because I hate to feel rushed when eating and enjoying the experience. Happy hour was available, the mango mojito was good. Dinner was a nice variety of seafood, I had the garlic shrimp with fried yuca and sweet plantains, it was so flavorful, cooked perfectly, and had a nice sauce to dip the yuca in! It was so good I finished it all! Ended the evening with churros, which were nice just wish they were larger sized. Overall, good food, with options for meat lovers, seafood lovers, and vegetarians!Parking: You can find parking on the residential side streets or you can do metered parking on Metropolitan Ave“
“I order a whole chicken a small rice to go but stayed for happy hour the drinks was very good ??. The bartender/ waiter maythe was very friendly and super professional ?. She recommended the pulpo as an appetizer super delicious very good “
“I believe Flor de Mayo is a unique NYC chain mainstay. I love that they have multiple locations but I usually go to the same one lol. Last time I was here it was right before I was pregnant with my daughter. The staff is always on point and it’s always packed. Locals love the drinks and Chinese-Peruvian fusion. This place is my version of an upper echelon Chinese Food Restaurant!! There use to be something similar on Fordham Rd. MOVING ON!!I ventured out this time and ordered food I normally wouldn’t. I got the cilantro rice and wasn’t really satisfied. I thought the rice was a little mushy and not the flavor profile I was looking for. The chickpea guisado could’ve been better. It really just looked like they threw a slurry in a pan with tomato sauce and chickpeas. I will not be ordering either of those again. I will stick to the fried rice which is always exceptional! My grandmother accompanied us on this trip and enjoyed herself so I appreciated that. We just learned she has GERD so having something she enjoyed made our day. With love.“
“Everytime I come to this restaurant, the servers make you feel right at home. The resturant is family friendly and is also a very comfortable environment. And of course the food is fantastic, as well as the prices. All around, it's a win win at the Caravan??“
“I chose this shop after coming out of B&H with my purchases. I wanted something different than a subway sandwich. Food was great but the portions were small. I'm used to larger chicken. I guess it would be good for someone on a diet.“
“This truck must come from heaven each morning because this was truly an outer body experience. Who would of thought that the best empanadas you have ever tried would come from a food truck in a part of town you normally aren’t in. After an appointment today my husband and I stumbled upon this truck and being foodies we just had to give it a try. What started as a two empanada order became a pork empanada, ham and cheese empanada, hot chocolate con leche , Sancocho and a dulce de leche empanada. Needless to say we are planning a trip to queens to just try some other items on the menu .Affordable , friendly service & tasty.“
“You know I'm feeling a spot when I go 2x in one week. The staff is super friendly. Those drinks be hittin, I had the sangrita on a Saturday 2 had me lit. On Friday for HH I had the Pisco punch not the same bang as the weekend but still good. So far everything I've tried for food was delicious, loved the Area pita. As a bonus it was kid friendly the weekend was was quieter but even for HH on Friday I was comfortable with my toddler. Definitely a new fav; decor, vibe, music love it all.“
“Great service! We enjoyed our dinner. It was my first time having beef heart and it was quite delicious. The chicken -pollo a la brasa is always amazing and so well seasoned. The skirt steak was good but I felt the portion of the steak could've been a tad bigger. The taxi tacu rice was yummy! Overall it was a satisfying dinner. We had their ice cream and it was unique flavors...I would recommend that you try it.“
“We went to this restaurant on New Year's Eve with my family. We had a good time straight away. Very kind and helpful owners. Very polite staff. The place was very clean. The food was very good and fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely return.?“
“I find myself coming more and more to this hidden gem. This place stands out from its counterparts due to its fresh food and fantastic service. You might have a slight longer wait than in other places but!! the food is done to order and not sitting under a heating lamp.Adding this place to my weekly rotation for sure. I’ve ordered delivery from Warique at least five times now and, if done/ordered within a reasonable distance , it gets delivered quite fast.I’m looking forward to trying to the rest of the menu.“
“Great experience, a friend and I went there to celebrate my birthday, we had a wonderful time, Josue the waitress does a great job, you can tell he is passionate about his job, the food was delicious, this place has it all, is just perfect, I recommend it to everyone.“
“The food is excellent, the atmosphere is great, the music is just enough to enjoy the dishes of Peruvian food, which in my opinion is one of the best. The waitress Claudia was very attentive, very friendly 10/10 highly recommended, thank you Lima for giving us this incredible experience.“
“Very good food served out of a taco truck. They have been on 57th st and 8th ave as of late. The food is solid. The tortas are the best thing on the menu. The salsas are good. The prices fair. The chichi morra drink was just OK though. Sort of like the Mexican hibiscus drink but not really worth $3. The guys are friendly and they accept credit cards. Usually a small line during lunch. But it moves fast.“
“At first sight this looks like a hole in the wall. However the food was super tasty. My family says the sampler platter was the best. Chicken was ok. But the fried rice was sublime. Some desserts were not available and thats literally the only reason why i deducted a star.Kid-friendliness: They had outside seating where my nieces were not dusturbing the rest of the customers.Dietary restrictions: Im allergic to shrimp. They were able to accomodate“
