“Awesome Experience! The Staff was awesome, The food was awesome & they complied with my request of no added salt to our food. Some restaurants get testy when you ask them about this but apparently they understood it & i didn't have to explain anything. We all had Pollo Salteado with a bunch of sides. Their food tasted awesome! This became our new go to for Peruvian Dishes! Only thing we have left to try is the Chicha Morada we forgot to get some. Next Visit see ya'll soon!

Vegetarian options: They have Veggie Versions of some of their Peruvian Dishes apart from just getting vegetables.

Dietary restrictions: We asked for no salt on our main dishes but truth be told their food is decently seasoned not over done and the regular food we had wasnt salty.

Parking: Its close to the Bus stop & its Queens Blvd but Meter Parking comes after it. Hard to park here on a week day before 4pm but if you are ok to walk the side blocks are easier.“

“An upmarket restaurant in Williamsburg serving Peruvian cuisine. The staff is helpful. There are a few vegetarian options besides the meat and fish dishes. The wine list is good along with spirits,cocktails and beer. The restaurant is popular so if you are visiting after 7 pm do make a reservation.
We had lamb sausages and beet salad with goat cheese and a Peruvian lagar.“

“I sat in for dinner on a Sunday evening. We had the seafood paella, the pesto pasta, and the Causa! The food was amazing. I didn’t know what I expect as I’ve never had Peruvian food but I think it’s my new favorite spot!! Ingredients were so fresh and flavors were incredible. “I went in the afternoon to eat and the food was delicious, they have a new menu and a new chef?‍?, in the new menu they handle Peruvian/Japanese food and the “airport” dish is highly recommended, it was delicious, very good portion (two people ate and in the photo we had already finished half a plate because it was so delicious). “I went to Tozton today to celebrate my birthday after seeing an ad on Tiktok and it was definitely a great decision.

The food was delicious, the sautéed loin, the green noodles, the pavilion, the ground beef cakes and the shredded meat cakes. Natural juices, drinks like margaritas and mojitos; on point, ten out of ten.

The attention of all the waitresses was excellent, they even decorated my table with balloons. Thank you Emily and Natalia for your impeccable service.

It was also easy to find parking near the restaurant. It is very spacious and tables can be organized for large birthday celebrations.

Totally recommended in Astoria.“

“Very generous portion sizes is the thing that stands out most. We got the fried seafood appetizer (first picture), it was a great combo with a nice tartar sauce and some onions/tomatoes to balance out the dish. I got the rice dish that came with beef, shrimp, and seafood and it was very flavorful and delicious. The meat had great flavor, and the spices in the rice were unique in a good way, and the veggies (snap peas, and green onion) mixed perfectly with the rice. The margarita was on the stronger/less sweet side.“

“I have been coming to Flor Del Mayo for over 25 years, first dining at the Broadway location.

My usual order is one of the lunch specials: half a Pollo a la Brasa with yellow rice and a side of chicken soup. The Pollo a la Brasa is consistently moist and well-seasoned. I usually do not order chicken when I dine out, but I do at Flor Del Mayo.

This is also the restaurant that created the cocktail The Nutcracker: Don Q 151, Southern Comfort, Disaronno. It is so potent that I can only have several sips. I also like their fruit punch but with half the amount of grenadine, or else it is too sweet.

I plan to try other things on the menu, like their Lomo Saltados.“

“I've been getting chirped on my IG/Tiktok for never branching out of Manhattan or Brooklyn... lowkey a fair criticism though so I gotta take it on the chin.

My homie, who lives in Astoria, has been hyping up Caravan Chicken for the past 6 months. "Bro you gotta try my chicken spot I swear..." This past Saturday, our schedules finally aligned.

After a 52 minute journey on the N train, I arrived at what I could immediately tell would be an all-time Chicken spot:

The uniquely Latin American smell of fresh roast chicken hitting your nostrils as you open the door, an overhead menu straight out of 1999, signs in both Spanish and English for "No Comida ni bebida del afuera", yellow walls littered with Peruvian decor, table seating in the back, and a worn in industrial kitchen with Latinos working overtime. What else can you ask for?

I went with the half chicken with pork fried rice and a salad ($13.50). I'm normally a yellow rice kinda guy, but the pork fried rice seemed to be their thing.

This chicken exceeded my expectations, which were in the stratosphere at this point. Perfectly charred and seasoned skin, and tender juicy meat (haha) accompanied by a Peruvian green sauce that was to die for. It's damn near at the top of my roast chicken rankings in the city. Casa Adela still my p4p #1 though.

The pork fried rice was good, but didn't blow my mind. Should have stayed true to myself with the yellow rice, but I'm trying to grow as a human being so I regret nothing.

I'll probably get chirped now for "only going to Astoria... these food influencers never set FOOT in Jackson Heights..." but that's okay, I'll get there. I take pride in proving people wrong, and proving myself right.

Shoutout to my guy Marinos for the Caravan Chicken rec. I'd be here 2x a week if I lived close.

“As a Cuisine person, I could say that it is one of the best places according to the seasoning that I could taste in New York, respecting the tradition of our country, Peru, on my days off I go to have lunch there... “Every time I visit Manhattan I dine at Pio Pio. Today was the first time there was an issue with the food. However, as soon as my wife and I brought it to the attention of our waiter, he made things right.
Despite the hiccup, Pio Pio 6 remains one of my favorite spots to get a bite to eat.“
