Peruvian Restaurants near Jamaica, NY

“Came down to this area for a comedy show and I was looking for something to eat. We found this place a little bit of walk away from the subway station at Jamaica center.

The food was very good, the service was a little slow. It was a Saturday evening and we went around 6 PM.

The chicken skin is very tasty around the chicken breast that we ordered and the fried banana bananas were very good as well

Overall good experience just wish it was a little bit faster with food coming out of the table because we were hungry

Never went to the bathroom don’t know what it looks like. Can’t comment.

And they gave us wet wipes to clean our hands, and we are finished with candy, which was nice“

“We made a reservation. The place itself was pretty. We were seated immediately and we already knew exactly what we wanted to order. We made it very clear that we were ready to order but none of the waiters came to us. The most awkward part is that the waiters were all physically near us- listening to their headsets. Yet they never approached us. They didn’t even ask us for drink orders. It was a very, very long silence. I almost would have preferred it if the waiters were not physically standing around us. When the waiter finally came up to us- we were very excited and placed our order promptly. Then- we waited- a very, very long time. Another thing to note is that we kept smelling gas from inside the restaurant. It was almost as though they had to turn on the stove with each order. It took the restaurant 1 hour and 20 minutes to get our food. 1 hour and 20 minutes from our reservation time. I have never waited so long for food. When we did get our meal everything was delicious but I really can’t tell if it was because we were absolutely starving or because it was actually good.
I keep thinking about this place and I truly do not understand what the issue was with the extremely long wait times for everything. Would not return unless the service time improves. Do not go there with children- they will starve due to the wait.“

You place your order, wait for your number to be called, and sometimes there is a wait, but the food is worth it. The service is fast-paced and straight to the point, which is pretty normal for a busy spot like this.

The dining/seating area could use a little more attention and can feel a bit rough around the edges, but everyone minds their business, and the main reason to come here is the food.

“Good place but expected more from a Peruvian Restaurant.

I had Ají de Gallina, and well, I had to order lemmon so it can add more flavor to it. That and some spicy sauce (really good sauce btw)

The lemonade was mad good! Tasted fresh!

I will eventually come back, but for now I just see it as a Lunch Place.

“The chicha morada pitcher was delicious. Jalea Grande was amazing. Bistec encebollado was a smoky flavor that was delectable.

Tacu Tacu con Cabrito was an acquired taste that I was unable to stomach. I was only able to eat a few spoonfuls of the fried beans. The goat meat was good, though.“

Started light with Salchipapas — aka hot dogs and fries, because sometimes you just need that “kids menu” energy. Then came the fried calamari with yuca fries… which I’m convinced could bring world peace. 🌎🍟

Warmed up with Caldo De Gallina — rich chicken broth so comforting it felt like it knew my childhood secrets. 🥣

And then… the Seco Combinado — beef oxtail stew in cilantro sauce with beans and rice. One bite and I was ready to apply for Peruvian citizenship. 🇵🇪
