“This place is a treat! We got a recommendation to try out Corto by a Jono Pandolfi Ceramics staff and it was worth it!!

Hands down the best Rigatoni I’ve ever had. It always hits the spot for me. We tried almost all items on their menu, but there is always new dish to try since their menu changes based on the season. The whole sea bream and pork shoulder are delightful as well.

Being so popular, you have to make a reservation in advance. Again, it’s worth it!!
Corto is byob, so you can pick up a bottle of wine at a cute wineshop around the corner.

I have been going there since 1984 and sorry to say, 90% of the time I get the same thing! And still always delish. “The inside was busy but had a really cozy feel - definitely geared toward a more mature crowd compared to downtown Grove Street on a Friday night.

The prices were on the higher side but not over the top. But sitting outside worked perfectly, for a girls night.

The bartender knows what he's doing with the cocktails, the food was amazing, & our waiter was great - honestly, no complaints.

“Great atmosphere! Cute little spot! The stracciatella appetizer was SOOO good! We also tried the spicy vodka fried burrata 10/10. The Caesar salad was a little fishy but that means it’s fresh! We also tried the chicken Parmesan with spicy vodka rigatoni 10/10! The cacio e pepe was okay in my opinion but my boyfriend loved it! Tiramisu was good too. Our server was really nice, I didn’t get her name unfortunately. All of the staff were very sweet. It might not be a super authentic Italian spot, but there’s tons of other places for that ;)“

“Cangiano's is a delightful gem of a find for all things Italian in Jersey City. We found this Deli to be an excellent source for Italian groceries and cooked meals, including sandwiches and pastas. There is an enormous selection of options,and the staff is super nice and friendly. We had the Penne Pasta in Vodka Sauce as well as a Grilled Chicken sandwich and both were excellent. We are excited to come back for more!“

“I always thought of this place primarily in terms of takeout but I had my daughter's first birthday there a couple of weeks ago and would be remiss not to share what a wonderful experience it was on all fronts. First of all, as other reviewers have noted the food is incredible. Every single person in our party raved about their meals--mostly pizza orders, but I had a hot sub and I could not devour it fast enough, it was so delicious. Quality ingredients and really authentic preparation. Beyond the great food though I want to highlight what a lovely experience we had at the establishment. The restaurant was so accommodating to our needs--they let us bring in our own decorations and cake, even let me come in early to set up, and it really made the day feel special and personal. Unlike most other places, they also let us relax and enjoy ourselves. We lingered for a while and at no point did they make us feel like we needed to wrap it up and leave. As the mother of the birthday girl it really meant a lot to me, and I don't think I would have gotten that experience anywhere else. Finally, I'd like to compliment the staff who took such good care of us--they were professional and friendly and continuously offered to help with whatever we needed. We were a party of 21 including four little kids so I'm sure at points we were a lot to take! But all we received from the staff were pleasantries and smiles. I'd recommend to anyone not just making this your go-to pizza place for takeout, but thinking of them for your next gathering as well. “I've gone here since I was a child :) The quality has never slacked, and everything is quick and easy- I'd argue sometimes faster than some pizza chains. The food has never let me down, and the employees are always quick to answer when asked anything. The atmosphere doesn't really give restaurant, as it is a to-go kind of spot, but their counter service is super efficient!“

They lose a star on the service because I wanted to get a 2nd refill on my soda, but he was busy complaining that he already gave me a refill before and they don't normally do even that, but it's ridiculous that you can't get refills when they give you like 80% ice, 20% soda. I'm paying for soda, not ice man, so if you're gonna give me so much ice, I'm gonna ask for a refill and expect one, either that, or don't put so much ice next time. Simple.“
