“This place has incredible pizza. All of their food is amazing though. They do have two locations. The original spot is on Union Ave in Rutherford, and its a bigger full size restraunt. This North Arlington location is the same, but smaller, with the same GEEAR FOOD. The staff at both locations is a pleasure to deal with, and you really can't go wrong with giving them a try!!!

“First of all I want to get something straight….I would recommend it 100000000% IF MY DAD STILL WAS THERE TONY DIPIAZZA!! It’s not the same since he left and never will be!!! When I was there with my family today showing 3 of my children and my boyfriend where I basically spent most of my childhood helping out my father especially on weekends the guy behind the counter was rude!! At first he was alright but he seemed annoyed and I’m not sorry I was explaining to my children the history of the place and it breaks my heart to know there is such crappy customer service there!! Anyone who knows who the original owners are of this place or worked for my dad would understand why I say that ! On that note I don’t plan on going back again at least for a while if that I enjoy showing my kids where I grew up but I’m highly disappointed in the food and service. Also no toilet paper in the bathroom or napkins in the napkin holders and the guy didn’t wash his hands when he touched money then made. Food and he put the money on the counter where he makes the pizza that’s so very unprofessional and insanitary!!“

“Great Italian food and a decent menu, not much choice but not too much. It's located next to Post Office 34 and is very trendy. The view and service are great, but it's noisy as there isn't much to absorb the sound. We ordered focaccia, roasted peppers and pasta. Everything is great and super fresh.“

- Piping hot pasta dishes, served al dente, bursting w flavor. If you are allergic to flavor you might have a heart attack
- fantastic cocktails and happy hour
- friendly service. My daughter was treated like royalty (swinging bench, shirley temple, smiles)
- clean bathroom. If your a kitchen confidential person, you know what this means
- affordable price. I don’t remember exactly what, but no mugging happened and that’s rare in NYC
- not that crowded (went weekday 5:30 though)

- if the red wines were slightly more chilled (not room temp), some people might like even more

Not this time at Piccola Cucina Estiatorio, 71 Thompson Street NYC. After seeing their extremely authentic Sicilian menu online I knew that it had to be the real thing. After easily reserving a table online we showed up with yes our hopes being very high. For the first time the food was everything I had hoped for. 1. Arancini: nicely crunchy and flavored. Not oily or old at all. 2. Grilled veggies: although simply presented they were really tasty and fresh. 3. Involtini: out of this world. Exactly made like in my town in Sicily. A Moist, tender, flavored with some really tasty mozzarella cheese, served on a nice bed of caponata. 4. Maccheroni alla Norma: finally my very favorite dish. I almost cried. Besides a fantastic pasta, rigorously cooked al dente, there was a more than generous amount of diced eggplant, obviously, with basil leaves, olive oil and everything the Mediterranean has so generously given to Sicily for thousands of years. It’s worth mentioning the more than welcome grated “ricotta salata” as a testimony to the high attention to detail of Chef Gioele. That was a dinner I will not easily forget. The last thing I want to say is that, according to the highly professional and attentive staff, almost every single ingredient in this restaurant is flown directly from Sicily including the very tasty cannoli filled with ricotta cheese. (The cheese flies frozen during shipping). Sorry for the long review. I only wanted to show my super happiness with this restaurant. ANGELO.“

We shared a pizza to start, followed by fish and the vodka pasta for mains – every dish was absolutely outstanding. As an investor in restaurants I'm very critical when visiting any restaurant and not often impressed even with well known critically acclaimed restaurants. It's very rare when a place has truly incredible food with every appetizer and entree as well as first class VIP vibes for service. You could literally taste the passion and care put into every plate with beautifully prepared flavorful abundant meals. In fact, it was the first time in almost a decade I brought home leftovers as the meal was delicious and easily sufficient for two people. Our entire table raved about their meals and the attentive but not obtrusive service was always there to refill our wine and assist without any of us having to look up for service. The food alone would have made for a great night but what truly made it memorable besides the great waitstaff was the manager, Eli. When was the last time a manager, GM or owner greated you at your table to share a polite, interesting and passionate conversation about the food and why they love sharing this experience with their valued customers? He made our entire table feel like VIPs and made perfect recommendations for wine and dessert. It felt more like we were in someone's home as we were there for close to 3-1/2 hours talking, eating, drinking and laughing. The ambiance is warm and unpretentious and the memories of a great experience will certainly bring us back again.“

“My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary at Forsythia and it turned out to be one of the easiest 5-star experiences we’ve ever had.

We went with the chef’s five-course tasting menu and the wine pairing, and every part of it delivered. Our waitress, Julianni (apologies if I’ve misspelled it!), was nothing short of amazing — genuinely knowledgeable about each pairing, including where the wines came from, and attentive, warm, and pleasant all night long. A shout-out to Rory as well, who was equally wonderful.

The food was incredible. Portions were perfectly calibrated for five courses, and everything arrived on time, hot, and beautifully seasoned. Between the staff, the food, and the atmosphere, Forsythia made the night feel special without ever feeling fussy.
