“Incredible vibe. Unique vinyl selection, amazing food, and a host who has mastered the art of the evening. It feels like dining at the house of someone with impeccable taste in both spice and sound. The speakers are the absolute star of the room—crisp, warm, and perfectly tuned to the space. 10/10, would move in if I could.“

“Hands down one of the best restaurants I have ever been to! Ordered the jellof rice w/ lamb and it was DELICIOUS — their homemade juices are a must have as well. And that puff-puff *chefs kiss.* 10/10 across the board with their lovely and beautiful staff. 😊“

“This place is a hidden gem. We arrived on a very rainy day, yet once we got inside there was sunshine everywhere. My friend and I were so happy. The food was just delicious and the service was top notch.
I am vegetarian 90% of the time, however, I had fish that day and it was superb. We had the Poisson Grill, the Sweet Plantains, and the Ris Gras with no meat. Let me tell you, I ate slower on purpose!! So flavorful and so smooth… The sauce that came with the Ris Gras was amazing too!!
This experience could not have been the same without Amy!! She was the best waitress ever. She greeted us like we were family and her smiles, amazing knowledge of the menu, and energy was just perfect. I used to train servers and Amy made it look so easy. Please support this off the beaten path restaurant! Tell them Chase sent you!!!“

“When conducting business, customer service and integrity are crucial to me. Having dealt with many Nigerian businesses, I’ve found that integrity and customer service is often lacking; however, Modupe is a remarkable exception. Her customer service is A+.
I recently ordered from her restaurant through Grubhub twice, but for some reason, the order was canceled both times. Instead of letting it go, she took the initiative to ask for my address and delivered the food to my house herself—unbelievable! As a business owner, I know that is truly going the extra mile. I just want to say thank you so much for your incredible service!“

“Fatu’s kitchen did not disappoint! I had the potato greens with rice and my hubby had Jollof rice with chicken. The food was very tasty and hot. Our server was patient and polite and the restaurant was decent, and a lot bigger than how it looks from the outside.“
“Food is wonderful! Owner is incredibly kind. He let us sample to make sure we were happy with our choices. The art in the store is also made by the person that makes the food. They have ginger sorrel in the back. That was refreshing with a slight kick. Recommend take out!“
“What a great meal! The flavor is amazing!“

“Visiting and craving delicious authentic Nigerian food? This is the place to be. We ordered the amala-ewedu-gbegiri with assorted meat option, it was tasty and quite flavourful. Ordered additional menu items for take out. There is free parking along the street. Servers respectful and service didn’t take long. Highly recommended.“

“Actually, I'm originally from Kenya and I like West African food; I stumbled on this place by accident, the word Buffet meant something to me, I decided to check it out, little did I know that it's an African cuisine; Gad and her mom were very nice to me, I picked all types of food on the Buffet to carry home into my fridge. The food is GREAT, Togo and Ghanaian food Gad said, the service is GREAT, very friendly people; at the end of eating a little taste of it, I forgot my important documents in there; that means the food was just too good until I lost my memory for a bit. Gad is real great in interacting with customers, like daughter like mom. I'll go back to pick upbmy documents and eat some more. I give it 5 star in all categories, you should check it out asap. “I can honestly say there isn’t a single dish I’ve tried here that I didn’t love. Every meal is full of flavor, fresh, and perfectly cooked. This place has quickly become one of my absolute favorites. I’m genuinely obsessed!
If you’re anywhere nearby, do yourself a favor and try it out. You will not be disappointed!“

“Arrived just before 15:00 and met a calosed and locked door. I called their phone number and it rang and rang. We tried knocking and after a few minutes a woman arrived, also tried calling, and began banging on the restaurant window. She mentioned something about Ramadan being the reason they weren't open. Not too long after her banging, someone came to open the door and as we tried following the woman in she closed the door on us. The guy who opened the door from the inside opened the door again and said we could come in. We quickly learned that the woman worked there as she went straight to the back room. Confused and a little annoyed, we sat. My partner and I were the only ones there. A server approached us and said they were only offering three things for the menu, which was different from online. After clarifying that there were indeed only three things on the menu, I ordered the jollof with fish and the goat in peanut soup and rice dish. Before the food arrived, I asked the server if she could turn on the heat, as it was not on. Mind you, this was a Wednesday in February in Harlem. She turned on the heat and the TV, which was played news at a moderate volume. The waters and food came and it was delicious. Plenty rice with the goat and peanut soup, good ratios on the jollof plate. Smaller rice grains than I am used to, but thoroughly enjoyed my plate and taking bites of the jollof.
I appreciated there being a container for washing in the bathroom. I was given $3 back in cash, something about being overcharged on my card? Shrug. No menu so I don't know what the total should have been / what the deal was with that. Overall, I'd go back for the food and hope for being true to opening hours, attending to the phone, and having a menu.“

“Authentic tasting! I use to mess with a Liberian guy and this taste like his moms.Collard greens, cassava leave and potatoes greens are my absolute favorite! The owners are so pleasant. I’ve been coming here for like 4 years now and I’ve only been disappointed once and even then he made it happen for me!“
“I would post a picture but I ate my entire platter (2 people could've shared that but I ate all of it). Everything was delicious- it looks like they had not so great reviews a few months ago but maybe they fixed the issue because my meal and fresh juice was fantastic, especially for the price.“

“This place is cash only!
I was in the neighborhood, so I looked up places to get Nigerian food and then I found this spot.
I was really excited to try my first jollof rice.
Talking to the owners,
I explain that I would only like to do vegetables and jollof rice, no meat.
They were very understanding and gave exactly what I asked for. Because there was no meat the price was different.
The food was delicious, thank you for a wonderful meal.
When I am done abstaining from meat, I will come back for their fufu and okra soup with goat. I look forward to trying that for the first time as well.“

“I had the most phenomenal dining experience at Kings Pride, a Nigerian restaurant in Jersey City. The exceptional customer service by the owner, Veronica, truly made it stand out. Veronica went above and beyond to bring the essence of Nigerian cuisine to our table, even taking us behind the scenes to demonstrate the traditional preparation of the dishes. Her passion for sharing the culture and flavors of Nigeria was truly inspiring. The Jollof rice with stewed goat was an absolute standout, bursting with rich, aromatic flavors that left a lasting impression. The Ogbono soup was a true staple of Nigerian cuisine and paired perfectly with a side of fufu. The classic homemade Zobo drink was a refreshing and delightful complement to the meal. Veronica's warm hospitality and her dedication to showcasing the authenticity and rich cultural heritage of Nigerian cuisine made our experience truly memorable. Kings Pride is more than just a restaurant; it's a place that brings people together through the love for great food and the celebration of Nigerian traditions. I highly recommend Kings Pride as a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic and enriching culinary experience. Veronica's commitment to preserving and sharing the intricacies of Nigerian cuisine deserves the utmost support to keep this remarkable restaurant thriving.“
