“I came on a Saturday after work. I was really craving some takeout sushi and this was really close so I tried it. I arrived earlier than my pickup time and waited inside. It was packed! I couldnt find parking to pickup my takeout order lol, and their parking lot is pretty huge for a stand a lone building!!
It was a little loud inside, but there was live music and the bar looked nice. I also noticed though several people waiting in the lobby waiting to be seated; it took a while for the host/server to show up to ask about my meal. It was ready at the time it said it was. The packaging was very premium, down to the ramekins with the sauces and reusable bag. Sushi was spectacular and at a VERY good price... Yellowtail roll had plenty of fish. Sashimi is reasonably priced and they are generous with the pieces... unlike some places that'll have half the roll be rice.
Will be coming here again; maybe during a quieter dine-in period though, and will update my review if I decide to sit down one day.“

“I love this place! My husband & I just got back from a trip to Japan a couple weeks ago and I was missing it so much! I discovered Maruichi and it brought me back to Japan 😌🥹. I was able to find this peach water I was obsessed about and the super delicious black thunder chocolate candy bars. AMAZING. Plus a lot of other things! There's a huge variety of tasty snacks and fresh fish! I will definitely be back for sure! I live almost an hour away from the store but it is definitely worth the drive!!“

“For those that know me, there has been a legend I’ve spoken of many times. Once upon a time, there was a place which provided me with some of my best culinary memories ever. This legendary place was called Mr. Pi’s Sushi Restaurant in Metuchen, NJ. Almost ten years of amazing experiences I had accumulated there. However, one day this place of legend had eventually relocated and, in the years that followed, I spoke of, and daydreamed of, this legendary place quite often. Then, over a decade later, I accidentally find out that they have relocated back to the area near me. My sheer joy, the smile from ear to ear, the absolute excitement, was so intense it was practically palpable. Speaking of palpable… in their journey before returning to Middlesex County, in Highland Park this time around, they have made their menu even BETTER, which seems almost impossible for a place so legendary, but it’s true. They are the best version of themselves they’ve EVER been! If sushi restaurants have a glow up era, they most definitely are at the summit of it, and will most certainly remain there, as legends do. Welcome to Mr. Pi’s 3.0! Placing a restaurant into legendary status is neither something I do easily, haphazardly nor willy nilly. For, you see, I have quite literally tried sushi all over the world. I’ve had sushi in Europe, the UK, the South Pacific, Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and yes, Japan. I’ve had sushi in (almost) every one of the 50 states, except for those states in which I just didn’t feel like risking my health by trying the sushi. Of all these places I’ve been to, all over the world, NOWHERE compares to Mr. Pi’s! They are the truest of diamonds, valuable beyond imagination! In an area of NJ where you can barely walk a block without finding yet another sushi restaurant, Mr. Pi’s OUTSHINES every single one of them, by far! What makes a place so legendary? Their food, first and foremost, is TOP TIER, ALWAYS FRESH, HIGH QUALITY, and BEAUTIFULLY, quite STUNNINGLY, PLATED! Great food alone, although amazing, does not grant legendary status. This next part is where many restaurants sadly fall short these days. “I just got back from a trip to Tokyo/Kyoto and have been seriously depressed missing all the delicious Japanese food I was able to eat over there. Thankfully I found Mizu Japanese Cuisine on Uber Eats. I ordered the Chicken Katsu which comes with all the fixings (salad, miso soup, rice). The chicken was so juicy and delicious. I also got a side order of pork Gyoza which really tied the meal together. If you are stuck in a post-Japan trip depression this place will surely lift your spirits. “First time at Sarku Japan and it was a good experience overall. If it’s your first visit, make sure to sign up for the app because you can get $5 off your first meal. The cashier was pretty friendly and helpful. Also, make sure to ask for hot sauce because they don’t have any out for you to grab yourself. One funny tip…hold onto your tray tight! The disposable trays are super slippery and your food will slide and glide around if you’re not careful.“

“My husband, who eats sushi like its water, found this place one day and couldn't wait to show me. They are a small, cozy shop in a basement in the city. They have a respectively diverse menu for a sushi restaurant and make everything individually to order. With this in mind, yes please plan to spend time there. It is a bit pricey, but for us it is worth it every time.“

“We just visited Asian Bistro for the first time and it will not be the last time. Between the seven of us we tried a range of dishes, including udon, sushi, bibimbap, shrimp dumplings, and chicken with broccoli — everything was great. The miso soup was perfect and we gladly received a little extra, along with edamame. We were treated to a delicious fish dish by the chef, which was excellent — light and crispy breading with tender, mild fish inside, a lovely treat that we will definitely return for. My understanding is that the restaurant has new owners and recently reopened, and it appears they did an interior renovation — the re is bright, spacious, spotless, and welcoming. One orders at the counter, but the staff and chef were also really attentive at the table, coming around to clear dishes and check on us — very conscientious and caring. Really great place! “We stopped in on the way back from a trip to Trenton. We searched for a place to get Pho, soup dumplings and boba tea. This place hit on all three.
This is a small store front and at 9 PM on a Saturday it was very busy. There were a few seats open but most were full. There were a half dozen or more people waiting for food and drinks and a steady stream of people were coming in to pick up takeout.
The decor is contemporary, bright and busy lots of signs, specials, menus, etc.
There were only three employees visible and all were in constant motion.
The service was efficient without time to do much more than acknowledge each customer.
The food and drinks are focus and the draw
I am not a huge fan of boba tea, but when asked to try it, I have to say that it was excellent. The milk tea was rich and flavorful, the bobas were not too sweet, the texture was so much better than others that I've had. (Admitting that I am no expert, I will say that I will definitely explore the drink options when I am able to visit again.)
The soup dumplings were delicious. Many different flavors shown through and blended perfectly.
My favorite pho is roast pork, which was not an option, so we got the standard beef. It was also very good.
This seems to be a Princeton staple and I can absolutely see why. I wish they were closer. I would absolutely be a regular if it was close to home!

“Best budget sushi ever. There was no toilet paper. I guess that's not covered by the budget. It's cool because it's a double restaurant - there's Pizza on one side and sushi on the other. They do takeout sushi which is good because seating is limited. My best friend almost hit his face when he yanked the door open because it was stuck shut. The place has character. If you're here for the sushi you will not be disappointed. If your here for the atmosphere, you probably shouldn't be.“

“Midori is our local Go To for consistently good sushi. We've been going here for a few years now since they reopened a while after COVID. My neighbor's turned us on to the place when they ordered sushi platters during and after COVID since they didn't open their dining area until much after most places had already opened. Their sushi and food has remained consistent with quality and taste and never failed us. Sushi is always fresh tasting and lots of variety of specialty rolls also. My kids really love the chicken katsu dinner and always get that. Their Kani salad is one of the best I've had around the area. Their dining area is nice and large with plenty of seating and is a great atmosphere. They are BYOB also, which is a plus. It you are from the area you are missing out if you don't have Midori as one of your go to local sushi spots. You won't be disappointed.“

“It’s pretty good but I’ve only been here once. I’ve tried a lot of Asian fast food places and their food is better than average. The lo mien is tasty, not too salty or dry. I also got the sesame chicken which was tender but just a lil too strong with the seasoning (kind of salty). The tofu was reallly good!! Nice customer service too.“

“I love their garlic shrimp with scallops menu item. I always get it for take-out. I have eaten at least 20 of them. There is a problem with their packaging. They put the food into a white plastic container that ALWAYS leaks. The container is not water-proof. They put the white container into a brown bag and put that into a plastic bag. The sauce leaks from the white container through the brown bag and into the plastic bag. When I open the white container, I get sauce from the bottom of the container all over my kitchen counter and have a mess to clean up. I have seen other take-out containers and NONE of them ever leak. This business needs to get a liquid-proof or water-proof container to put the food in so the sauce does not leak out. Wake up please!!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered a take-out today July 31, 2024 and was surprised to see they have a new container that, when held upright, does not leak. One good step in the right direction. I wish they would go one more step and use a truly watertight container. Many restaurants use waterproof containers so an even better type of container does exist.“

“I came in this past weekend, (March 2026). I was eating very fresh sushi, rolls sashimi, the place is clean the service was exceptional. i was eating LOBSTER, so delicious. management was nice. I offered a suggestion of a lobster fork. I usually feel a bit weird after I go to buffets, but the food here to me was exceptional, and for $31.00 for a drink. per person. awesome. not many "filler foods" . neat and organized OCD“
