“I’ve been going to Sumoes for almost 3-4 years best halal food and best local store , they’re very respectful and kind they offered me free food when I was fasting to break my fast and didn’t ask for money in return , they’re the best Muslim people you’ll meet , overall food is amazing and affordable price you should definitely go .“

Since I’ve moved to JC (which I know is only across the river, but the food scene really is different), I have yet to find my go-to halal spot… until now! I paid $10 for a chicken over rice. “First and foremost. Do not order from Uber eats. I saved about 10$ against Uber pickup order, and about $20 from delivery not including tip. The saved money went to spending more here. You pay more for each item on Uber eats.

The food was fresh greatly seasoned (could use more season on the jerk chicken gyro) and the falafel was fried near perfect.

The service was great. Called in the order took my time getting there in about 10 minutes and was ready immediately. I wasn’t expecting it to be but I was happy.

The strawberry twist to the banana pudding was a great hit. Just wished for a little more strawberries. I wished I took photos because all of the food was visually pleasing. The food was so good I ate a container of Jerk chicken over rice with extra meat by myself. Within 45 minutes. I usually can’t eat like that in one sitting.

Also wished for more white sauce dipping cups for the amount of falafel that was bought.

Otherwise it’s a great gem. I hate to say it but I live next to a few restaurants and did not want to try it because of the feedback. As much as I am used to a $10 plate, here was money well spent. Cost about $50 2 drinks, jerk chicken Gyro, 10pc falafel, jerk chicken over rice platter with extra chicken, and a banana pudding.“

“first the place was homey and clean quiet and peaceful second when i first got the platter my first thoughts were hmm i wish they gave me more rice that being said once i ate the food i realize that this was PERFECT QUALITY EVERYTHING. the meat was not just SEASONED FOR COLOR BUT SEASON WITH FOREIGN SPICES i tasted a little bit of some type of curry i could see and taste the seasoning they put in the rice was so flavorful almost its own star what made me rlly say this quality was amazing was the fact that the cold amazing slice fresh tomato were absolutely high quality the fact that the tomatoes were that fresh and the salad was perfectly preserved the white sauce was amazing per most hala spot but there hot sauce wasn’t to spicy it was good enough for my stomach to not act up it came with pita bread which is a nice touch and was a reasonable priced my full rating would be 4.8 honestly“

“This spot was amazing for family sized trays. We got the half tray chicken and lamb combo + half tray of rice. This was the most meat ive gotten at a halal place and the half tray was more than enough for 9 people as we had leftovers. I highly recommend these trays for huge gahrerings, they accommodated within 30 minutes.“

“Visited tonight for a late-night craving and had a great experience. The staff was very warm and welcoming, even at a late hour.

I ordered the Chicken Karachi Naan and Chicken Seekh Kebabs—everything was excellent. I can confidently say these are some of the best chicken seekh kebabs in the Northeast. They were served hot, juicy, and perfectly seasoned with a great blend of spices. Honestly, you could easily enjoy two or three just with raita—no naan needed.

As big foodies who’ve tried just about every spot out there, this place really stands out. The atmosphere is clean and inviting, the staff is friendly, and even the restrooms are spotless.

If there were six stars, I’d give it without hesitation.“

“Humble seems to be the best word to summarize this restaurant. The men who run it seem to have a great rapport with their customers; they’ve been there for 20+ years and it shows. They were kind and accomodating. The food was plated carefully and was pretty taste. My only complaints were putting margarine on my pancakes without asking and the tiny plastic utensils, which left my hands covered in syrup. However both of those go to the restaurant being unpretentious. There’s no atmoshere to speak of but it was clean. I’d eat here again but probably wouldn’t go out of my way.“

“I ordered Chicken Biryani and Chicken Kabab through Uber Eats. After I ordered , I realized that I forgot to order Nan. So I called the restaurant and ask them that what can I do now. “Whenever I see ajib at the cart I’m always buying. He’s the best !! Always gets my order right and very generous proportions which is so rare now. They’ve increased their prices but the quality is still good if not better. The workers all live close so the food is clean (and by that I mean their hands are clean) and I know it’s fresh. We visited and now I frequent it almost daily! Homefries platter is not for the faint of heart. You've got to have a hearty appetite or share it out.
