Custom Cakes near Little Falls, NJ

“***4 1/2 stars**I'm not sure how crazy I am about this place being a few blocks from where I live, but I suppose that's not Mo & Jay's fault. I've been aware of this bakery/pastry establishment for a few years (I think it showed up in this relatively new apartment building on Main Street two or three years ago), but hadn't actually thought to go inside until yesterday morning. I was entrusted with obtaining a dessert for a weekend BBQ, and it occurred to me that this was at least the easiest spot to quickly grab something. The fact that the desserts were extremely good ended up being a pleasant accident/bonus.I brought one of my top tier chums to assist with the purchase. From very brief research, it seemed like the eclairs were the big selling point here. I thought it would also be a little wily on my part to get them because I tend to not enjoy eating food that has stuff in it, and figured I'd be unlikely to do anything too naughty with that. That turned out not to be accurate, but I digress. We got the five for $25 éclair deal, and procured a raspberry, a lemon meringue, a nutella, a pistachio and a cookies & cream. Just as we were about to wrap up, I also impulsively grabbed a cheddar/bacon scone, which was humongous and understandably caught my eye.The eclairs were definitely a hit. My personal favorite was the cookies & cream. The flavor was incredibly on point, and it was almost like a meta ice cream experience. The only issue with that one specifically was that the cream inside was runnier than the other pastries, which made it a little messy. Not a huge deal. The runner-up was probably the raspberry for me. Again, extremely flavorful, almost to a fault - it was overwhelmingly tart, which is obviously kind of a calling card for raspberries but if you're not into that, I'd stay away. The nutella was actually a little on the bland side for me but not bad. The lemon meringue was a big hit for everyone else, but I'm not a huge fan of that flavor to begin with - I don't think that's a mark against this place by any means. In hindsight, we probably wouldn't have gotten the pistachio, but none of us are hardcore pistachio fans. The cream consistency and dough for all of these was very high quality, and understandably a lot of this is going to come down to how you feel about specific flavors.In a final twist later on, I sampled the scone around dinner time and was very pleasantly surprised - the scone was very moist and tasty, and was reminiscent of a Red Lobster cheddar bay biscuit, though probably at least twice the size and with actual pieces of bacon in it. Very strong recommend on that front.The service was very good. We had a pleasant female cashier assisting us as my chum was literally squatting on the ground eagerly peering into the display case squealing out flavors to get. Zero issues there, and we were in and out within a few minutes uneventfully. There were also a lot of cakes and other types of pastries, so I expect I'll be returning shortly to obtain their assistance with another BBQ.“

“Quaint little spot with a great front counter delicious selection of all types of empanadas from sweet to savory and another section with beautiful desserts that taste as good as they look. I wasn’t expecting much and assumed it was probably cuter in atmosphere than food was tasty but I was so suprised. Everything I’ve ordered from the Mangu breakfast, empanadas, tiramisu, cappuccinos, chicken soups- grilled chicken w rice and beans- it’s all been so good. Even their house salad is dressed perfectly - simple, old school and delicious- little gold nugget in North Arlington. Not to mention the women at the counter are so sweet and kind. Genuinely go out of their way to be helpful.“

“These treats are as delicious as they look. There has not been one person that I have shared with that did not find the cupcakes delicious. She’s very professional and accommodating. I had to switch my order last minute and she didn’t disappoint with getting them done for me the day before nor give a problem to switch due to the change of my situation. “I can't be more impressed with the owner herself ie Christina and her beautiful creation of a yacht cake that she made for me at the very last moment. The cake was perfect and it was melting in the mouth and really yum. I will surely return for any future orders.“

“I had went to three different bakery trying to get a specific design a cake and was turned away . Finally I was recommended by a friend to to see Emily at Bella Vida pastry . Im glad I did ,I have to say my goddaughter sweet 16 turned out so beautiful it was more then we expected we sent her a picture and she matched it to the tee, and it tasted amazing. And let me not forget to mention their very reasonable in their prices They will definitely get my business again.“

“I ordered a custom cake from Lyndhurst Pastry Shop and it was perfect! They walked me through everything over the phone. They went above and beyond by adding flowers to the cake, just beautifully decorated. So delicious, too. “Their pastries are amazing. The service is amazing. Sweet sugary goodness. Got addicted after a coworker brought a box of the pecan danish's and I will never go anywhere else. What's nice is that you can place an order before hand for pick up since those go out super fast by high demand. They are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays which is a bummer but definitely give them a try. Small bakery but big impact on your taste buds! Love it!“

“Lovely Bakery Cafe with a classic, relaxed ambience and old world charm. Came late afternoon on Presidents Day and there were lots of customers but also plentiful seats available. The croissant lived up to its reputation! It was large, crumbly and flaky on the outside and very affordably priced. Cashier was very friendly too! She offered to heat up our croissant and brought it out to us on a plate. This place is definitely worth a visit!“

“This was my first time visiting Mattarello bakery and I will definitely come back!When I walked in - I was welcomed by smiling and happy barista.It was hard to choose what I wanted to try,they have a lot off different cookies,pastries and cakes,the lady who was working there helped me to choose the perfect pastries to try.I had bombolone donut with custard cream, lobster tail with chantilly cream and a large cappuccino.Everything tasted amazing.Fresh,a lot(!!!)of filling which made me really happy.For coffee lovers - they have different types of milk to choose for your cappuccino,latte or matcha latte.I had a cappuccino with almond milk and look at the cute bear!I can’t wait to come back another time to try something new!?☕️ “

“I ordered 2 dozen cupcakes from Three Daughters Baking Company for our daughter’s Baby Shower on Feb. 25, 2024. They did a wonderful job accommodating my request. The cupcakes were delicious and not too sweet. I had sent them a Pinterest photo of how I wanted them to “swirl” the icing so it would look like a flower on top and use several colors of icing because I was going to arrange them in a “cupcake bouquet.” I was very pleased with how the cupcakes tasted and also how they looked.Photos attached show the cupcakes by Three Daughters Baking. (The flower stems and ribbon were provided by the customer. )Their service, their food and everything was excellent! I highly recommend Three Daughters Baking Company!“

“This ice cream shop is a GEM! The variety of flavors is so impressive and each is delicious. We have LOVED Lavender Sky, Pistachio Rose, dairy free Pistachio, Rainbow Cookie, Cheesecake and a Rocky Road. Yummie :)Such a cute little spot for a quick drop in. “My favorite little Bakery in Newark. The ladies are always so pleasant. I usually get the pan sobao con mantequilla y cafe. Deliciousness!!! Ive ordered the morcilla from here. It comes frozen and you have to cook it at home. It is so good. My mother loves the Rice pudding they make for Christmas and the Budín. Honestly, I haven't had anything and been disappointed.“
