“Great restaurant - food is great, service is attentive. Restaurant policy not to allow you to have bread before you order is not good for people who need food with their drink. Manager (blond woman) was disappointing in her lack of understanding and customer service -very poor.. It is sad we must find another favorite restaurant because we loved it there.“

“We started going to this restaurant just last year and our server at that time Alexis really took great care of us. Ever since then we fell in love with the place. We always requested for Alexis but last night we had a different server named Eric and he was also very great and very attentive. The host stand, server, and the manager really made my boyfriend and I 9 year anniversary dinner special and we couldn't be any happier. The food was amazing and we always get the 22 oz prime bone in ribeye and the truffled Mac and cheese and it has been our go to meal and of course they have the most amazing oysters! They have a great variety of specialty drinks and wines that pairs very well with the food. This is a very highly recommended place and they have gained new regulars!“

“Our first time as we are visiting from out of town. Our server Cesar was so wonderful. Very accommodating and helpful. The food was phenomenal. “Great pastrami sandwiches. I also tried the corned beef but didn't enjoy it as much. Corn3d beef wasn't bad just not as special as the pastrami.

Definitely stick to the pastrami.

Make sure you give yourself time. The line is long and they take their time with every customer. Very slow moving but worth the wait.“

“I ordered for dinner the ribeye steak and onion rings. Cooked medium, the steak was flavorful; I did not need any sauce at all. The place was clean and the staff attentive (it was a Wednesday night).The bill, surprisingly, did not include gratuity or tip. You pay either by card (small charge additional) or cash. The "downsides" are: no parking lot for diners as you park on the sides of the Avenue. There is also no alcohol (wine, beer or cocktails) served. I will bring my family here and recommend to friends.“

“I never ever ever ever feel obliged to review restaurants. There are hundreds of reviews that speak and echo anything I would say about the delicious meal I enjoyed. But what is compelling me to post this was truly the regarding the service I received here. It brought me to tears!!! Patricio and Dylan were the most considerate, kind, attentive and understanding waiters I have ever met in my entire life. After dining in the tri-state area my whole life, exploring cities like Chicago and LA through food, I’ve been conditioned and numb to lackluster waitstaff and typically take the approach of trying just to avoid them spitting in my food, but Patricio and Dylan completely floored me in their attention to detail, knowledge, and service that showed me exactly what good waiters could be. Living with GI issues and intolerances, I consistently feel like an inconvenience at restaurants and that the entire responsibility of making sure I don’t fall ill after dining is based on how I modify the menu and pick around my plate. EXCEPT here at Rails with Patricio and Dylan, I had the first care-free dining experience in my life, their thoughtfulness allowed me to be truly present with my family, enjoy the wonderful food being served, and just live in the moment, which is so important to me. Dylan was explicit in the detail of every dish and always helped me navigate what was coming around and being served. Now, back to the tears, when I subtly mentioned in passing to Patricio that I couldn’t eat dairy and couldn’t partake in the birthday cake, he brought me a delicious sorbet flight, unprompted, just so that I could feel a part of the festivities. “Overall, we had a very good dining experience. The food was delicious, especially the steak — it was flavorful, cooked very well, and the portion size was generous and very satisfying. The chicken was also very good. The butter served with the bread was absolutely delicious and a great touch. The asparagus served with the steak was also very well prepared and complemented the dish nicely.

The only disappointment was the potato; I felt it could have been more flavorful and better prepared.

Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the cleanliness of the restroom. It was very dirty, and someone had clearly vomited in the sink area, but it had not been cleaned. For a restaurant of this quality, this was not acceptable and did not match the overall experience. I hope more attention can be given to hygiene and cleanliness.

We also called ahead to make a reservation, but we were told that due to the restaurant being full, we needed to come in person and put our name on the waiting list. We did that, but we ended up waiting more than 40 minutes before being seated. I understand that busy times happen, but the waiting process could be managed in a more organized way.

The food quality was great, but I believe there are areas where the restaurant can improve, especially regarding cleanliness and guest experience. I hope this feedback is taken into consideration.“

We were relieved when they announced they were opening up in a much more appropriate and highly upgraded venue. This was perfect timing for us to celebrate our 9 year anniversary here. Upon arriving the inside captures the comfort and style of the Livingston location and then improves upon it with the beautiful outside seating area. Now onto the food which is just as good if not better than the original location im glad to see the quality has remained consistent. My steak was cooked to perfection and my wifes pasta dish was packed with quality flavor. The drink menu was definitely brought to the next level as well everything seemed like it was fine tuned and everything we tried was on point and had its own unique delicious flavor profile. Andy behind the bar was very knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure to talk to about the different cocktails. For dessert we shared the tiramisu which was great it wasn't youre traditional kind but we loved the spin they put on it with the cake and ice-cream. Lastly for service Jonathan took amazing care of us and made our special day very memorable along with the rest of the staff. Everyone that came by the table was professional and had a smile on their face. They all seemed happy and took pride in their work which was nice to see.
