“It took us some time to sit but the food was SUPER good. We got the power omelette and the avocado toast. Best thing is their mugs, I LOVE the big cappuccino cup, so fulfilling and their French roast options are really special!

“it was a hot and sunny morning and i got the itch to go to the beach. after applying my spf 30, i hopped on my unicycle and made my 45 minute journey to long branch. when i arrived, i was so utterly dehydrated, sweating my balls off. i looked to my left and i saw a “Playa Bowls” sign and i knew what had to be done. i ordered a nutella bowl with no coconut flakes of course! the line was long but it was so worth it. that fruit bowl hit all the right spots and completely quenched my thirst. if you ever get the chance to go to playa bowls, don’t even hesitate. it’s healthy and delicious. the employee natalie makes a mean bowl. we love her. slay natalie!!

“Not just with Playa Bowls in Lavallette, NJ, but with every other Playa Bowls stores i’ve been to the atmosphere has been amazing. I love Playa Bowls because the service is always very quick and it still amazes me how the workers manage to make the bowls so pretty when they get it to their customers so quickly.

I also love that you can add or take out anything from the bowl you are getting. If I don’t feel like having Nutella with my açaí bowl, then I can take it off and add something else without any change in cost. Additionally, as an athlete who tracks her food, protein, and water intake, the option to put different types of protein powders into the base of your playa bowl is amazing. To my local Playa Bowls in Whitehouse Station, NJ, they have chocolate and vanilla whey protein powders as well as the non-dairy versions of that flavor protein and it’s amazing.

Regarding portion size, it varies from person to person. For me, I think it fills me up perfectly for a lunch and then I will eat a snack in between lunch and dinner. Again, they are good portion sizes but if you tend to eat bigger meals I would say this wouldn’t fill you up.

Since Playa Bowls is a bit expensive, I treat myself when I can and I have the rewards app as well. So, I don’t get it often but when I can I will! I’m also never afraid to try anything new here because I’ve always loved what I’ve gotten whether that’s been açaí or kale bowls. The bowl prices vary depending on what u get as well as smoothies or coffees. For me, the bowls I get cost between $12-13 with no discount. However, the rewards app lets you log each time you order something from Playa Bowls and if you save up points you will earn a $3 off any item from playa bowls when you reach to 750 points. to get to a free bowl you have to reach 2,100 points.

Lastly, there are so many options with the choice of creating your own bowl and/or mixing bases and toppings. I think this is amazing if you like certain bases but not toppings or vice versa.

Overall, i love playa bowls and would definitely recommend this to athletes as it is also a great post-game treat!!

Dietary restrictions: I have a gluten allergy and I am sensitive to dairy. The choice of protein powders and toppings allow me to still have a good treat while not upsetting my stomach!! 10/10.“

“Got a Coco Power bowl, the portion was perfect to have as a meal. If I wasn't pretty hungry I may have struggled to finish it, but that just means you get your money's worth! The atmosphere is great, it's a narrow shop but they have a second floor for customers and they also have gender-neutral single occupant bathrooms!“

“I hate to leave bad reviews but we have never had an issue till today. It wasn’t busy but the food took forever. My daughter had to take her food Togo. When they brought out the food he told me that he would bring the syrup. I had to ask him 2 times because he forgot. The pancakes were already cold. Never did we get more water. I get it!It happens. I also ordered pancakes to go but we were forgotten we had gotten our check and waited an extra 25 min. The food was good. Just sad todays service isn’t like it has been in the past.“

“We love Melonhead. Especially the Red Bank location 'cause it's much closer to us. It's convenient, cute, and quiet. The smoothies and bowls taste fresh and are always on point. Yesterday we met Alana who was highly exceptional and provided awesome customer service. I honestly thought she was this location's new manager. She was super friendly and is very devoted to her job. You guys are lucky to have her!? ?Update: I highly suggest more thorough customer service training with the young people who work here. Especially customer service training over the phone when talking to people.“

“We traveled 2 1/2 hours for a beach day and ended it with a Playa Bowl in Asbury which is a summer tradition. But we almost missed out! Location was closed by 6:00 pm on 9/21/24! We were in disbelief! We got there at 6:10pm. We begged and pleaded and “Jimmy” made it happen!!! World class service with a smile!!! What an amazing person you are “Jimmy”! “At the moment you come to that place the waiters give you a great feeling. Very comfortable team, it is a nice place to pass time with buddies or with your date. heavenly cuisine, experienced chef, decent price and generous service. Highly recommended.“

“I had a pleasant experience here, very tasty and well made. Major downside was the fruits which were NOT fresh! Otherwise order was ready quickly and the cashier was pleasant. Parkings are available outside which is an add. Indoor atmosphere was cozy. The menu has a lot of options which worth trying. Hope future experiences come with fresh fruits.“
