“Small place ran by a lovely couple with all the signature classic Romanian dishes! This place is a complete hidden gem! The eggplant salad starter is just like my grandmother and mother make, the meats are excellent - portion sizes are huge and everything tastes like a solid Romanian place on my visits to Romania. The star today was the Papanasi - a classic Romanian cheese donut! One of the best I had ever! Highly recommended! Will definitely come again!“

The manager, Megan, was so helpful to work with throughout -- she was a thought partner on food and decor choices, she coordinated with our other vendors, and most importantly made sure that the event itself went off without a hitch! The ambiance was on point and the food was DELICIOUS -- all of our guests have been raving about it since then!! The staff was also super warm and helped make the event feel extra special. (An extra shout out to the bartender Andrew for cracking jokes all night). Highly recommend Gus's under any circumstance!!“

“I went to Markette for dinner and drinks before an event at MSG. Markette brings an incredible option to this area. The atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant is something you’d see further downtown. I started off downstairs for a drink and the Mango Martini was unreal. They have a different drink menu from upstairs and I would definitely go back to try others. I can’t say enough good things about the food upstairs. Everything our table had from the crudo to rock shrimp linguini to the lamb was unreal. A side dish of the lamb but the pita bread was maybe the best I’ve ever had. 10/10 recommend and would go back.“

Again, the servers were super and even inquired if we didn't enjoy the meal because we left so much. The food just wasn't that great.“

I don't go anywhere else from the comfortable seating and the nicely cooled lounge and a place outside if you're a smoker. Wide assortment of coffees and teas and adults beverages. Come on down they are open everyday except Tuesday THE FOOD IS SUPERB.....“

“Would highly recommend. Portions are generous for the price point and above average for this type of food. The fluke crudo is a great starter, fresh and vibrant with a nice mix of textures. For mains, the duck and red snapper are both excellent but the duck is the move. The dates add an incredible depth of flavor. Don’t sleep on it. Service was great too — our waitress checked in on food allergies upfront which I always appreciate, and there’s coat check which is a nice touch.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​“

“Sam’s Table is a cozy restaurant with a seasonal menu and very welcoming staff and decor. We dined here with friends in March where we had the most delicious spring menu. Everyone at the table tried something they “don’t usually like” and Sam changed our minds. Every course was fresh, creative, beautiful and delicious. I loved how each dish had a special touch - we had preserved lemon and pea tendrils and sunflower seed tahini and dandelion. We will definitely be back.“

“To start with, the service was fantastic. everyone was attentive to our needs but at no time did we feel like we were being pressured. The food was all delicious and the pricing for main dishes and sushi was very reasonable. The menu is very creative and the dishes are presented beautifully. Definitely worth trying and I would eat there again.“

“I thought I had left a review but i guess i didn't! I went here last year for my 31st birthday my boyfriend surprised me after months of me wanting to come visit. I'm originally from NYC but live hours away.

I loved the decor and the vibe of it all, our hostess was so sweet and attentive and acknowledged it was our first time there so she helped all she could. The food aside from the grits that day were delicious, well cooked and the performances were great and loved getting a good laugh along with enjoying the music in between just getting to enjoy the atmosphere. I was surprised they also sing you happy birthday, my boyfriend had mentioned it when we were ordering and to have the performers sing with the rest of the staff was a cute experience for this goth birthday girl <3“
