“The Tavern was able to host our post-funeral luncheon on just a few days notice. While they don’t have a private room their space was nicely laid out to accommodate our party of around thirty. We chose a limited menu and everything was very good with the pot roast beef getting especially high marks. Special thanks to Carol and her hard working staff who made this event stress free for my family.“

“This place is truly one of the best parts of Rockaway. I work at the doctor's office up the street from it and we order take out a lot. They serve all the classic bar favorites to perfection! The juicy burgers are fresh and absolutely fantastic...and OMG the cheesesteak is AWESOME!!!!! But what really makes this place standout are the people behind all of it. Bridgett, the owner, is genuinely one of the loveliest and most accommodating people you'll ever meet. She goes out of her way to make everyone feel welcome, and you can tell that she puts her heart into the place. She will personally deliver our food to our office every single time because we are so busy. And Myles deserves a huge shout-out. That man can cook a burger like nobody else, and the cheesesteak he puts out is honestly next-level! You can taste the care and skill in every bite of it. It's disappointing to see a few unfair reviews floating around, because they don't reflect the real experience here. Great food, great atmosphere, and truly GREAT people. Especially the ribs, homemade potato chips, salads, coleslaw, buffalo wings, burgers, desserts, craft beers, etc... And the manager, Alex, along with Nicole, and Kattya, are always super friendly, courteous, accommodating, and highly attentive. We seem to be treated like royalty here. We've never had a bad meal and/or experience here. Oh yeah, and the outdoor seating is awesome as well, as the warmer weather approaches! Enthusiastically recommended to all. 5-stars and A+++++“

“We had such an amazing experience at The Second Half on Main this weekend. We called for a reservation for 7 people on a Saturday night, and they were beyond accommodating. They took us in just 30 minutes before closing and never once made us feel rushed, which honestly says a lot because most places start stacking chairs and spiritually evicting you the second the clock hits closing time.

The food was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. We ordered French onion soups, a Caesar salad for the table, calamari, and everyone got different entrees and drinks. Every single thing was delicious. Not one complaint from anyone at the table, which for a group of humans is basically a statistical miracle.

Our waiter Mike, aka “Buckets,” was incredible the entire night. He never stopped moving, stayed on top of everything, and still made time to go around wishing other tables a Happy Mother’s Day, which was genuinely very sweet to see. You could tell he was working his ass off, but he never stopped smiling and made the whole experience even better. Another gentleman helping him named Matt was also fantastic and super attentive.

We will 100% be back and honestly cannot wait to see everyone again. We’re even considering using them for our friend’s bridal shower this winter because the service, atmosphere, and food were all that good. Highly recommend!“

“We were here last week while attending the Chill Out Expo. At first we were just getting drinks at the bar but then we all got hungry and decided to try out the food. Despite being completely slammed with so many people who were attending the expo, the service was quick and courteous. The Guinness cheeseburger was one of the best burgers I've ever had! My husband also had a burger and the kids got 12 oz strip steaks cooked and seasoned to perfection. After I left I ordered up some Colman's mustard that they have on the table. That stuff is great! I only wish this place was in closer proximity to where I live because the food is amazing and I would love to try it all. Also we loved reading the historic plaques telling us about the history of the pub. It was a wonderful experience!“

While we will always miss Chuck, we hope the new owner preserves the incredible ambiance and vibe that keeps the regulars coming back! There's simply no other place like it. A huge part of why we return is Mauricio the Chef, who makes the best pasta fagioli, and the wonderful servers like Joannie. We go for that unique feeling as much as for the fantastic food. Table 42 reminded me of Cheers, I truly hope it doesn’t lose its uniqueness.“

“First and foremost, our server Jennifer may have been the most nicest and friendliest waitress I’ve ever encountered. She either loves her job or is an amazing actress. The food was very good, my parents enjoyed their burger. I had the roast beef sandwich which was fantastic. Went on my own, bartender was nice.
Gave really good beer suggestions: fruity but non sweet IPA, and another lemon beer.

Music was really good. There was karaoke that night too (Thursday).

There were a variety of ages, from 20s to 50s and even 60s, everyone was thoroughly enjoying themselves.

They have different events and bands throughout the month so defo check them out.
