“Where do I begin. Our visit to the Shannon Rose was outstanding. From the nice young lady at the door to our server Edgar who went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. When we arrived Trivia was going on, and it was such a delight watching everyone participating in the game. We arrived wanting drinks to end the night, and The Shannon Rose did night disappoint. Our server Edgar was very kind, and very knowledgeable about what we should order, plus very handsome. Kudos to the bartender the drinks were delish!!!! I had their burger one drunken night and I knew it was good but I didn't quite remember it. So today my husband and I got their burger again and HOLY, it is one of the best I have had in JC. “The other day I got, La Galera Centro Americana Restaurant, for lunch. I ordered their Meatballs w/ Black Rice & Red Beans. It was absolutely delicious! I asked the lady for more veggies than rice, and she happily obliged. I really loved their Meatballs, and also the Red Beans. Excellent flavors to combine. The ladies at the front desk were really nice and attentive. It seems like a nice, quaint, family type of place to eat. And for just a little over $10 was a complete steal. “We joined some family* here for lunch today. The bldg and the grounds were lovely looking. The inside has both banquet rooms for private events as well as a family feel bar and dining area. We were seated right away and the server was very prompt and friendly. Menu although not that large had a good variety. From appetizers and soups to full on entrees there was plenty to choose from. They had several specials to offer today. They are known for the burgers apparently. My aunt and husband both had the Swiss Mountain Burger. Both enjoyed them. Although the cooking between them was a bit different. My husband's was a bit pink IMO but he likes rare so didn't really care. My daughter enjoyed the penne and meatballs from the dedicated kids menu. It came with a drink and dessert. The portion was hearty and she loved the meatball! Dinner rolls on the table were amazing. Mini chibatta style that were crusty in the outside and soft and chewy in the inside. My uncle had the chicken cashew salad. Large salad although looked like only iceberg as the base. Overall filled with plenty of toppings. I enjoyed one of the salmon specials for today. I chose the grilled lemon pepper salmon. All entrees like this are served with either rice or potato and veggies. I had mashed which were very creamy and flavorful. The salmon had good flavor but IMO was cooked just a little too long. It was flaky but the edges seemed a little dry. Overall I'd recommend it but suggest asking for a medium cook. They offered a dessert menu although everyone was full and decided on just some specialty coffee. Most dishes were in the $15-25 range. Quality of food is very good. It's a little small, which never caused me any problems, but something to keep in mind on busier days. Someone here complained in a review that it's expensive for the amount of food that you get but you're paying for quality not quantity.
