The salad was clean, fresh, crisp but a bit overly salted, for me. We devoured the Margherita pizza which was SUPERB! Crispy, chewy good flavored crust, the red sauce was excellent, could use a bit of evoo drizzle and a few more slices mozzarella, for my tastes. Can't wait to return for their pasta and dessert offerings.“

“This was one of our most memorable dinners of 2025 so far — everything we ordered was delicious.

We started with the marinated tomatoes with stracciatella and the focaccia, then had the Thai basil tagliatelle with crab and the breaded pork chop as mains, and finished with the corn brûlée and blueberry pâte à choux for dessert.

The marinated tomatoes with the focaccia were an excellent pairing, and the tagliatelle was a surprisingly delightful fusion — spicy, flavorful, and very well balanced. The pork chop was excellent too: juicy and flavorful, though slightly undercooked near the bone. The corn brûlée was fantastic, while the pâte à choux was the only dish that didn’t quite hit the mark.

Overall, the food was outstanding and the space was very cozy. Our only wish was for slightly better ventilation in the restaurant, but otherwise, it was an amazing dining experience.“

The food was not only delicious but beautifully presented as each dish was crafted with care and bursting with authentic Italian flavor. “I’m a SJ native and have been going to Scotto with my girlfriend for about 5 years. It is hands down the best pizza around. We will drive well out of our way to get it. It’s a travesty that all of these “best pizza” lists don’t choose it as it should be better known. Look at the reviews.

If you want brick oven pizza or a fancy sit down, yes that is not here. But Scotto is the place to get the best pizza.“

“This past spring my family and I took a roadtrip out east and after spending a day in Philadelphia watching the Union (MLS) we ventured into NJ in search of some local Italian eateries. It was a Sunday evening and not many establishments were open however we were fortunate Vitale's Italian Bistro was the exception. Warm welcoming staff greeted us, prompt and attentive wait service, and delicious food in abundance! It was a wonderful evening and a fine way in capping off our 10 day east coast road trip!“

“Giumarello’s Restaurant was delicious! The martinis were great. Appetizers: crab stack with mango salsa and avocado or saffron mussels with shrimp, Yumo! Entrees: Miso glazed sea bass or filet with stuffed lobster tail both Devine! Dessert: Chocolate heaven flourless cake and salted carmel creme brulee were heavenly 😋 Our waiter Griffin was wonderful and very knowledgeable, especially since we needed gluten free options. “I have been to Mamma Rosa several times, so this deserving review is overdue. In a word…..FABULOUS! The decor of this BYOB is so welcoming and comfortable, with an intimate and romantic setting. The service is 2nd to none. The menu is not overwhelming, but has plenty to choose from, and then add in the daily specials and there’s something for everyone’s taste. All of the pasta varieties are AMAZING! We had two appetizers on special, a burrata with grilled peach slices and prosciutto and grilled shrimp with fava beans and asparagus with a touch of lemon. Both were to die for! For entrees we had eggplant parmigiana and from the specials, lobster ravioli with jalapeño peppers in a thickened, but not heavy blush sauce. Both were delicious, but the lobster ravioli was in another level, what a compliment the jalapeños made! We then had dessert and coffee to top off the meal. I would eat at Mamma Rosa’s daily if I could! If you haven’t been here, then you really need to go, if you have, I bet you’ve been back!“

My elderly mother and I were early when they were still setting up, and they welcomed us with open arms and got us some coffee because it was so rainy and cold. The food was excellent. We had many courses, and my sister-in-law said that they were extremely accommodating and offered many choices at a good price for the menu. The owner was lovely to work with. I cannot say enough about how excellent the food was as was the superb service that we received from the entire team. They were on every need amidst a very busy restaurant while navigating around walkers and people like absolute pros... with a smile on their face the entire time.
