“I do take outs at all chinese take outs places near my area, on a rotation basis. This place's food seems always good. They do seem busy at times, but I am very patient most of the time, or at least I try to be. I do think they deserve 5 stars for their quality of food and quickness of food preparation.“

You can also experience 1-5 star level of spiciness, which number 5 is the highest and spiciest with fresh Thai-Laotian hot chili. I can say “Lao hot is the REAL Thing” 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥“

“My wife and I generally eat for five people, we ordered 4 small plates and 2 mains, still looking into dessert. Each dish had its own layer of perfection with unique flavors and exquisite presentation. I’d say a restaurant on its way to becoming Michelin…..bravo! “I’ve only recently started checking out options in midtown area. This is the best place I’ve been so far. Went with my very not vegan family and they loved it. Their lychee drinks are amazing. “Mauricio, From the moment we sat down, he was all smiles—happy, upbeat, and full of energy that made our whole table feel welcome. He wasn’t just friendly; he was genuinely fun, cracking jokes, keeping the mood light, and making sure everyone (especially the kids!) felt special.
He knew the menu inside and out and gave amazing recommendations—especially for the appetizers. You could tell he really cared about making sure we enjoyed the best of what the place had to offer.
It’s rare to find someone who’s not just doing their job but clearly loves it. Our meal was great, but the service truly made it memorable. If you get the chance, ask for him—you’ll be glad you did!“

“Great steak (I had the bone-in ribeye) and cooked to exactly the medium-rare I had requested. Highly recommend the appetizer I had (canadian bacon) and the service was top-notch and friendly. Wine list also quite good. Can't ask for much more!“

“We were in the city for 3 nights. I made reservations for the second and third nights. Left night one open. I found Saar online, it was less than a block from our hotel so we figured we'd give them a try. So glad we did. Nice place. Great, friendly service (Karim is the man!), and excellent food. I ended up cancelling the reservations I made for night 3 and we went back to Saar. Give them a try if you like Indian food. It was amazing!“

“You know where to go when you miss your Asian dish. I went to Wondee Siam after my cruise trip to South America. If you’re Thai, they have special menu that definitely eliminate your homesick immediately.
I ordered Kangsom which is simply the red curry soup with fish paste. Kangsom’s soup is light (not creamy) but packed with very tiny pieces of fish. The taste is pretty similar to kimchi soup. Hot, sour and spicy. They served Kangsom with shrimps and Thai fried omelette. Went so well with white Jasmine rice. If you like Kimchi soup or Kimchi Jjigae, you will love this dish!
The staff is super friendly. They told me they had Thai milk tea as well. How can I miss it! I ordered a to-go and went to sit in the nice area very close to Wondee.“

“I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!!! Their food tasted SO good and tasted like it was homemade food. It was made with so much love, and the food was so flavorful and seasoned. Every thing I got, hit. I got the curry chicken platter, and I cleaned my plate. The mint lemonade tasted so fresh and refreshing. The baklava was really good, as well. The customer service was excellent and so homey, as well!“

“I was very impressed, moonlighting in the bartender night life for the last 20 years. I normally don’t go out to bars. My sister and myself were down at Lenox hospital for our Dads surgery. One of the desk staff at Franklin Hotel recommended Penrose! The staff, manager and bartender were so friendly. I have to say I was very happy. I will certainly pop over again next time I’m in the area!!!! The drinks and food were top notch… So cheers Penrose to your amazing hospitality ❤️“

“The Thai food and service was excellent! I got the green curry with tofu and the tofu texture was perfect, and medium spicy kicks your butt just enough. But you might sweat a little. Worth it. Cocktails are you, and the fried chicken bites are a great share. Papaya salad is really good too! Definitely plan to come back! Call if you prefer to make a reservation and secure a table.“
