It's such a nostalgic place for me personally and I know it means a lot to the local community as well - truly a staple of downtown Garwood. The ambiance is very modern and trendy with lots of seating options to enjoy your food in-store. There's also lots of outdoor seating, though not the most relaxing option because it's along a busy road/intersection. When I'm not with friends, I usually take my food to go, which is always a quick and easy process. I can easily say that The Juice House makes the best bowls (acai, pitaya, coconut, banana - you name it)! What really sets JH apart is their organic GRAWNOLA - it's so tasty and soft. The bowls have the perfect proportions of base, GRAWNOLA, and toppings, so every bite is flavorful. My go-to order is the Chocoberry Acai Bowl with honey, which truly hits the spot every time. Some other favorites are the CocoNutter Coconut Bowl and the JH Acai Bowl, but you truly cannot go wrong with whatever you order! The Juice House employees are always friendly and helpful, and the owner, Arielle, is extremely front-facing and responsive - so awesome! So you can customize it completely.- The portions are HUGE especially compared to Frutta Bowls. I much rather have more of the base (which is difficult to make at home) than the slices of fruit on top (which is easy to do at home).- Krystina and Shanel made our bowls and were so warm and patient -- explaining all of their options and even giving us free samples of their sugar free peanut butter which they grind right in front of you (this was the topping we chose -- highly recommend).- They even have a BOGO on Wednesdays if you use the app. You can bet we will be there again this week for it.CONS:- Acai bowls in general are not cheap. It's clearly not a specialty of theirs, but you absolutely have non-meat choices.Parking: They have a lot, but it isn't large nor immediately adjacent, but it's not far. I was greeted by a woman and man behind the counter who I presume to be the owners..they were quite friendly. I was looking for a smoothie place that opens before 7am and they opened at 6am. It's located on Bloomfield Ave in Newark, NJ and if you know the area, it's quite busy. Parking may be scarce. I ordered the coffee banana smoothie and it was tasty. It was approximately 32oz? And it was 10.00. They also have add ins such as protein, collagen, etc.This may seem pricey but healthy food will cost you. I wanted to try the crepes which also were 10.00 but I did not have time to wait. The smoothie was not too sweet which I liked. I would like to try their other flavors so I will definitely go back. My one issue is that a list of ingredients of the smoothies would be helpful, as well as what is used to sweeten the smoothies.“
