“I've been to four different Playa Bowls, and I have to say that I do love the one in Montclair the most. The atmosphere is just so calm and relaxing. They're not playing loud music with vulgar lyrics. (I've been to one that does that.) I also love that the worker who took my friend's order had memorized the two bowls that she frequently orders for herself and her husband. She knew every customization and recited it to my friend before she could even place her order. I was impressed.“
“I bumped into this shop shortly after they opened not too long ago. I was extremely pleased with my experience. Excellent juicy lamb and chicken gyro sandwiches, salads, and rice platter! All halal, too.They also serve other dishes. Their menu is not extensive, but I prefer this, since everything is made freshly and their turnover is really fast. The salads are very fresh, everything is juicy and their portions are very generous. The gyro sandwiches and platters include a can of soda, so everything is in my opinion very competitively priced.The people in the store are very kind and attentive, and I have become a frequent visitor who is greeted with a smile. When showing the place to a visiting family, who praised the platter the “best gyro” they ever had, the owner gave one of the kids an extra platter to enjoy later. I’ve lived right above this place and for the first time I went downstairs went through the front door and I was greeted by which I assume the owners daughter she was really sweet and nice and gave me options because I told her it was my first time and so I got the protein shake which I finished in 2.5 seconds and I ordered the grand slam bowl and it’s so much better then playa bowls it feels and looks healthier will def be coming back everything was so good and soooo tasty!“

“PROS:- This place makes their bases (which they have numerous kinds of) right in front of you. It's not premade like Frutta Bowls or Playa Bowls. So you can customize it completely.- The portions are HUGE especially compared to Frutta Bowls. I much rather have more of the base (which is difficult to make at home) than the slices of fruit on top (which is easy to do at home).- Krystina and Shanel made our bowls and were so warm and patient -- explaining all of their options and even giving us free samples of their sugar free peanut butter which they grind right in front of you (this was the topping we chose -- highly recommend).- They even have a BOGO on Wednesdays if you use the app. You can bet we will be there again this week for it.CONS:- Acai bowls in general are not cheap. But I've made many acai bowls myself at home, and those 100% acai packets from Trader Joe's are a pain to open and work with. “I recently attended a Glen Rock Chamber meeting at Sweetberry Bowls. I loved the atmosphere right away. Before the meeting began I ordered a smoothy, the Strawnana - a mixture of strawberry, banana and coconut milk. It was delicious! During the meeting we got to hear how the owners place a high emphasis on their menu choices being made with natural ingredients with no added sugars. There are lots of healthy choices. I can't wait to go back and taste one of their bowls. This is definitely a place worth checking out.“

“I just picked up some takeout from this place... OMG, it's amazing! So authentic! The food is fresh and delicious. I got the chicken and cheese, puff pastry, cheese, bread, balls, and a chicken with Brazilian cheese pancake. The pancake is an actuality a crepe , which makes it even more amazing. It was absolutely delicious and generously filled. There is not a doubt in my mind that I will be coming back.“

On top of that, the chia pudding recipe tis shop is using is something distinctly different from other chia pudding I've had. I live in NYC - caught a train to Montclair Bay St station, and wandered up the block from there looking for some treats to share with friends.Jackpot.I don't live near Montclair, and this location is not convenient to me. However, I now go out of my way to visit this shop whenever I'm passing through the nearby train line.Worth it.If you (please) bring boomchia to downtown Brooklyn, I would eat there everyday.
