The lady behind the counter is the absolute sweetest, drinks aside- she always lightens my mood. The açaí bowls are to die for- not mid. I’ve tried so many spots in Astoria and Vela is consistently yummy. Today. I went in for a milk tea and they ran out of boba. She went an extra mile to charge me for a medium despite me ordering a large! Soooo sweet. ??“

We had the Hawaiian torta and the birria burrito and both were absolutely amazing and super filling!!! Both were delicious and not the mention the fair prices.Although they don’t have an indoor sitting area, they have a small outdoor hut if you’d like to stay and dine in.Truly a hidden gem in the neighborhood, can’t wait to try some of their other specialities!“
“This is THE smoothie place to go - hands down!I’ve been to at least 10 smoothie places in NYC (primarily Manhattan) and never been more satisfied with the drink or service than here. Honestly no other smoothie places can compare. I can order my drink within the moment I step inside (the workers are highly attentive to customers) and wait less than 5 minutes until my smoothie’s been made.Very smooth, no chunks, absolutely addictively delicious. My top choice is always the Lychee Valentine, followed by Avomazing or Smooth Avocado, but you really cannot go wrong with any of their choices.“
“This coffee shop is a gem. It’s neat, modern, clean, and the atmosphere is super soothing. There are words of affirmation on their mugs, which was a nice surprise.I had a latte with oat milk and it was refreshing. Seems to be a good place to order some coffee, read a book or get some work done. I didn’t get to check if there was WiFi or not, but this is a place I’d be willing to use my hotspot for.The staff were very warm and welcoming — I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the neighborhood to try a pastry or two! “My two nieces and I popped in this morning on our way to the Natural History Museum. I’ll admit I was hesitant but thankfully I listened to my nieces! I had the avocado and eggs in a crepe, which was the best gluten-free sandwich I have ever had. Did not miss the bread at all. My 14 year old chose the Nutella crepe with banana and the 9 ounce Açaí bowl. Oldest selected one of the big bowls … it was a work of art. Highly recommend and we will be back on our next trip. “I absolutely love this place. I come here once or twice a day. The smoothies are excellent. My favorites are peach’s delight and peanut butter punch. Most times I add some combination of mango, coconut and/or spinach to the peanut butter one. I haven’t tried the juices or açaí bowls yet but I’ve heard many great reviews from people I trust. The customer service in this tiny gem of a store is also A1. They care about their customers, I can tell. I hope you guys stay open for a very long time.“
“Perfect start to the day! We stayed here 4 or 5 times during our week in NY for breakfast. We tested porridge, acai bowls and smoothies. The "Hell's Kitchen Sink" tastes awesome (with peanut butter and cocoa nips.) The smoothies Boo Berry, Gymbuddy and Energy Boost are each made with almond or coconut milk and protein powder .We loved everything! The service is very friendly and There are only a few seats, so we were there early (about 8 / 9h) and had no problems getting a small table.Now we are back home and miss the delicious bowls!“

Full of flavor, Playa Bowls has a nice assortment of smoothies and açaí bowls that can serve as both a sweet treat or a nutritious meal. DoorDash allowed me to order from home and get my smoothie in less than 20 minutes, which is a huge win. I'll definitely be back (hopefully in person)!“

Also they're mini size was perfect and small but filling. The service was very well and the workers did not take that long. I would say we waiting less than a minute for the acai bowl to be ready! Also, I had really enjoyed the music playlist, and had a nice interaction about music with the worker. The atmosphere was very nice, they're were nice, bright colors, a comfy couch and clear menus. “Agavi makes organic juice drinks to your specifications. They set up a Popup Juice Bar in my community. There was a list of ingredients to choose from. I had spinach, carrot, celery and ginger which was refreshing after my workout. The employee was quick and efficient working alone. He even advised me about my choice of ingredients due to my blood sugar. He just added a small amount of carrots since they are sweet. My friend had the same ingredients and added the apple for sweetness. I really enjoyed the experience. I'm not very familiar with juicing. I'd definitely visit this location when I'm nearby. It's a great way to get my veggies for the day.“

They bottle the drinks in the front, and if they run out, you're out of luck - which is what happened with the Madison Square. Not a fan of not having a juice freshly made. Got the new green smoothie which was good, but a bit too heavy on the lemon. If I'm back in the area, would come back for that Madison Square.“

“In this part of queens it's hard to find a tasty fresh Brazilian cheese bread and this is the place. Don't be put off by it's location- it's located in the back of a Brazilian clothing/ bathing suit store and it's quite the gem. They have different sizes of the bread. I opted for the bigger ones and they were 3 dollars each or 2 for 5. It was soft crusty fluffy and cheesy. Just the right amount of cheese and chew flavor. The lady working the store was super nice and even though I don't speak Portuguese- I had no problem ordering. Please give them a try! This is the definition of mom and pop dive“

“Playa Bowls is a great place to grab a quick and healthy lunch. I usually get an açaí bowl; today I got an oatmeal. Everyone who’s helped me has always been helpful, easy going, and happy to make substitutions on a dime (ex: strawberries for blueberries). I cant speak for all locations but Playa Bowls at 27th and 7th in NYC is quick and efficient as well. I can be in and out in less than five minutes, which is crucial for me. I always know I will get quick, accurate service and fresh food, so it’s a frequent lunch destination.“

“Recently got a poke bowl with shrimp and spicy salmon, portions are pretty filling and a lot of selections to choose from to add into the bowl. The strawberry banana smoothie is my favorite, along with the bubble tea, mainly their mango milk tea and taro. There isn't much seating inside, mainly a take out spot I would assume. Limited street parking and the area can get busy during the weekends. Definitely recommend for everyone to try out!“
