“We went to McKenna’s Pub to get drinks and play pool for my daughter’s birthday today. It was really a great experience and I’m so glad we found it!! The bartender Billy was so welcoming and went above and beyond for us. The other guests were also very friendly and the atmosphere was wonderful. Even though I lost at pool, McKenna’s Pub will definitely be a go to for us in the future!!“

“This place is truly one of the best parts of Rockaway. I work at the doctor's office up the street from it and we order take out a lot. They serve all the classic bar favorites to perfection! The juicy burgers are fresh and absolutely fantastic...and OMG the cheesesteak is AWESOME!!!!! But what really makes this place standout are the people behind all of it. Bridgett, the owner, is genuinely one of the loveliest and most accommodating people you'll ever meet. She goes out of her way to make everyone feel welcome, and you can tell that she puts her heart into the place. She will personally deliver our food to our office every single time because we are so busy. And Myles deserves a huge shout-out. That man can cook a burger like nobody else, and the cheesesteak he puts out is honestly next-level! You can taste the care and skill in every bite of it. It's disappointing to see a few unfair reviews floating around, because they don't reflect the real experience here. Great food, great atmosphere, and truly GREAT people. While we will always miss Chuck, we hope the new owner preserves the incredible ambiance and vibe that keeps the regulars coming back! There's simply no other place like it. A huge part of why we return is Mauricio the Chef, who makes the best pasta fagioli, and the wonderful servers like Joannie. We go for that unique feeling as much as for the fantastic food. Table 42 reminded me of Cheers, I truly hope it doesn’t lose its uniqueness.“

“I have lived in the area for over 20 years, and I had no idea this spot existed inside the Hanover Marriott—even though it’s been here for 26 years! I was very pleasantly surprised when I finally walked in. The decor and ambiance are fantastic; you can really tell the woodwork and furnishings were crafted in Ireland, shipped over, and reassembled to create a genuinely authentic pub atmosphere.
The service from Michael was top-notch—attentive, friendly, and welcoming throughout our stay. The food was very good as well, making it an ideal venue for a quiet business lunch. I will definitely be back soon, and I am looking forward to trying it out on the weekend for a date night!“

“The Tavern was able to host our post-funeral luncheon on just a few days notice. While they don’t have a private room their space was nicely laid out to accommodate our party of around thirty. We chose a limited menu and everything was very good with the pot roast beef getting especially high marks. Special thanks to Carol and her hard working staff who made this event stress free for my family.“

As I was enjoying my modelo and a dance, I saw him yelling at one of the girls for using her phone and he was also rude to me on the phone for asking questions. “We decided to go to Charlie’s to listen to music on a Sunday afternoon. Headed straight out to where the band was playing. Inside was about 15 people watching soccer and baseball games and drinking/eating. A server took an order from a table near us, not acknowledging us. About 10 people outside. After ten minutes I went inside asked for a menu and ordered two drinks. She told me someone would be out to take order for food. Another ten minutes went by. I went back in and ordered. There were at least four staff members inside, It wasn’t that busy. Our drinks were good, food was good and music was nice.
It’s too bad the service was lacking , it didn’t have to be. If they were more attentive, people outside would have ordered more drinks because it was warm.“
