“Joe, the owner, is SO mean. EVERY day I wake up thinking "today is the day that I eat the food that I made purposefully for lunch" and then I look at the specials of the day at Big Mouth and the thought of doing such a thing disappears more quickly than it appeared, a distant memory, a sheer figment of my imagination. Fig and brie griller? Amalfi Coast wrap? LOBSTER RAVIOLI?!?! Yeah ok, let me ignore those and go eat my pb&j while I pretend it's nearly as delectable as their homemade loaded baked potato soup... yeah right?.I should mention that, much like a cobra, you have to unhinge your jaw just to take a bite of literally ANY sandwich they make. It's unbelievable how much goodness they manage to fit between bread that I assume could only be baked to such perfection by Jesus himself.As with most complicated relationships, I'm unsure if Joe and his gals (who are ALL lovely, I almost want to get a pt job there just to hang out with everyone who works there) do this to me because they love me or because they hate me... and without knowing the answer, I still keep going back.Is there a "Big Mouth Deli" rehab? Should we all start meeting at the local Presbyterian on Tuesday nights and then ignore each other on Wednesday afternoon as we run into one another picking up our individual orders of the Michael sandwich? Or should we all just say screw it, give in and buy maternity pants?The only real way for me to find the answers to all of those questions is to... in the name of research... continue going back daily. “A very dear family friend passed away, and we wanted to do some thing for this family for after the week. I called in this order for wraps, and I must say that each and every one of them was done perfectly. The generous amount of meats in each of the sandwiches was incredible. “Freshest ingredients and BEST bread you can get. The owners are so nice! Even gave me a couple pieces of chicken cutlets they just made for free. Best chicken cutlets I've ever had, so crispy and thin. My parents and I each had the #22 which has fried eggplant, fresh moz, and roasted red peppers. Incredible. I couldn't recommend the eggplant enough. I love coming here and you have to go if you are in the area.“

I know these folks here are known for their “best of NJ” Taylor Ham ;not pork roll ( almost forgot where I was) and cheese. I’ve had it here before and I do believe it is incredible and stands up to the claims. However… the cheesesteak they make here may not be getting enough love. “A walk into Otto's is a walk back into the past when neighborhoods had small businesses and everyone knew one another. But one thing didn't change. The high quality and authentic homemade German salads, delicious sandwiches, German specialties and frozen treats (for the Bogue Pond playground visitors) are tallied up the old fashioned way by Helmut, the owner, with a pencil on your bag. There's even an old hand-cranked cash register to make your change. I've been a customer over 30 years, and highly recommend. We need more places like Otto's Deli.“

“I got a take-out lunch after a hike in the area. The fish sandwich with tartar sauce was very good (and very obviously made in-house with care), and their cucumber salad was the perfect side dish. I had fun browsing the shelves of products while I waited, and even picked up some German-made Nivea cream (the best!). Danke!“

“We've been coming to "Ken's" Lake Wanda Store since it was "Larry's" Lake Wanda Store; In other words ... for decades. We've never had a bad experience. Occasionally, a friend and I treat ourselves coffee and tea, and some baked goods while we chat and enjoy looking at the lake. So relaxing. The staff has been very helpful and friendly to me. I like the pizza, and they always have a nice choice of baked goods. As for price, I don't mind. I like the convenience and I do my weekly shopping elsewhere. As far as I'm concerned, Lake Wanda Store - FOREVER!“
