“I had dinner with my wife on Friday night. We live 2 blocks away. Normally we stop in to a have few drinks and get some apps, which are always good. Last night I tried some of the dinner choices. I couldn’t decide so I got the Seafood Gumbo which was outstanding. Then I got the Southern Fried CatFish with the mustard sauce, which was amazing. They were both big portions, (I didn’t finish either, although I tried, haha). My wife had buffalo cauliflower and dry Cajun wings which were both really good. The food is a hidden gem that we have in Palmyra, the prices are good and the service is always great. We had the young guy with hat and he was awesome. The bartenders even jump out to make sure the tables are ok. The acoustic guy playing was just right also. I know the owners have worked hard to keep 5 West going the last few years. Keep up the Great work!!“

“Every time I've been here the food and drinks have been excellent and very reasonably priced, The Service is always exceptional and very friendly. It's one of the best spots in the neighborhood. Also don't sleep on the French toast or the martinis.“

“I stopped in here during Happy Hour one Friday afternoon and had a very enjoyable time. I met some friendly people and engaged in some good conversations with the regular customers. Mostly concerning sports and alcohol beverages. All three bartenders were excellent servers and quickly replenished our drinks. Can't wait until they start serving food as they just reopened under new management. It's a small place with just a straight bar but it was a friendly atmosphere.“

“This past weekend, after my son’s first penance, a group of us wanted to go grab lunch. After an unfortunate experience somewhere else we called Dooney’s to see if they could accommodate a party of 17 last minute, and they said of course. Half of our party was kids 7 and under. “I stopped here one Saturday on my way home from center city and had a very good evening. I opened the door and was greeted by a friend who performs at so many local drinking establishments in Northeast Philly. As it was a spontaneous decision to go here I was very surprised to see him. Located on Rhawn Street off of Frankford Avenue in Mayfair/Holmesburg. It has an latge open area for music and dancing with long straight bar. I didn't have the food so I can't rate it. Our barmaid/server Laurie was friendly, witty and an excellent host. I met several friendly and engaging people here and will surely stop back.“

“I have been going to Penns port for over 30 years. The dancers and staff are always friendly and make you feel welcome. I drive 40 miles to this bar as it’s the best strip club I have ever been to and I have been to a lot of them. No lap dances tho!“

CONS: pricey for what it is, they charge extra for using card, beer prices aren’t listed (you will have to ask server for price of each beer if you want to compare), prices on website are higher than what is charged at the bar. Paid $73ish for two apps and two beers each at a dive bar (with tip). Seitan wings are generally too salty.

Overall, I’ve been here a few times. It’s good for what it is. There aren’t many good alternatives in the area, so if you’re looking for a dive vibe, this is probably the best you’ll find within easy walking distance. Better for drinks than it is for food, still not exactly cheap.“

“Best Bloody Mary in the area- hands down. Fun Man's bloody takes it to a whole other level. I literally drag myself out of bed every other Sunday for the purpose of indulging in his artwork of a bloody. You can taste the care, creation and passion for this drink with every sip. Have yet to have one better than his and as an added bonus, there is usually bacon AND shrimp for garnish.“
