“Positive vibes and a great experience. I’ve visited this place several times in person, and I’ve also done takeout a couple of times. The most recent time was takeout. I needed to feed a small group and asked about platter offerings, but was told they don’t have any set menus. They asked what I was looking for and made some recommendations to fit my needs and requested budget.

To say that I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. They delivered and then some. It was a combination of various sushi, regular rolls, and specialty rolls.

They also asked about any potential allergies in the group, along with any specific preferences or dislikes.

The food was fantastic in taste and presentation. It was well packed and came with plenty of ginger, wasabi, and miso soup. They also gave me delicious tea while I waited for them to complete my order.

For some reason almost every bagel place has terrible feng shui, they make you crowd into a cramped corner and you are in everybody's way while you wait for your order, or you gotta stand amongst the tables with your butt in somebody's face. Not here though! And the bagels are good, obviously.“

“Was here recently and had a wonderful experience! Jessica, our bartender, recommended a delicious margarita flatbread “pepped up” and it did not disappoint! She also convinced me to try the Pumpking beer for dessert and that was a delicious surprise! We will definitely be back on Mondays and/or Fridays to see Jessica and try more of her recommendations! “Without question THE BEST INDIAN FOOD around. Better than any Indian place I've eaten at in Manhattan on Lex/Curry Hill. The Gobi Manchurian incredible, the Mushroom Dry Fry appetizer incredible, Incredible. Tandoori chicken for $18, was like 6 nice delicious pieces of chicken. My veg entree Aloo Palak was yummy, I just ate the rest for lunch now. Get the green mint sauce on the side, it's so good. The owner is so sweet, I'm a grouch, but she always makes me smile. Thank you.

P.S. I was literally sitting next to the family that left a one star review 14 hours ago. The guy was literally complaining to the owner the entire time. She was very polite and said don't worry, she will take care of it and offered him something. Honestly the portions are generous and the prices are not high. The Tandoori chicken is like $18. Frankly that's cheap. Seems like that guy was trying to feed a family of 4 with one entree or something. Shame on him. Read all the other 5 stars reviews.

One of the owners, Marcello makes his rounds around the room speaking to his customers and making you feel at home. Everything I ordered was delicious and the waiters are so polite and attentive. “Stefan the new chef has a wonderful restaurant here with fantastic delicacies to choose from. Standouts are his Tuna sushi on rice cakes with caviar. Amazing. Also the steak frites with truffle fries and the tuna carpaccio...just wow. Stefan also had a delicious tapas served as appetizers a few weeks ago with anchovies and other types of seafood served on toasted baguettes. He is friendly and engaging and a great addition to the Ho-Ho-Kus dining scene. Bought St Eves from the previous owners about 2 years ago. Go and Enjoy!“

“We threw a drop-in Buffet dinner for family and friends at Houlihans for 30 to 35 people. The room is spacious and accommodated everyone comfortably. Our server Eileen was excellent and the food was delicious. Michelle who assisted with the catering was very detail oriented and help me plan a great event. “The food was easily the best Arab food I’ve had. Ever. The owners were super nice and actually invited us to sit instead of take out, and we got complimentary toum (also best toum I’ve ever had), peppers, pickles, and some sort of Arab bread. The bread was nice and crackly and there was a LOT of it. The toum, unlike other Arab places with toum, was actually light and had that whipped texture that is desired. The garlic flavor was on point and not too overpowering. The star of the show was easily the crispy chicken shawarma, though. It looks small in some videos, but it was wider than my mouth. I had to do some talking to find out myself, but to get the fries, toum, and pickles next to the shawarma, you need to ask for the crispy chicken shawarma combo. It was super crispy, and the breading was very nicely toasted. I kept finding myself layering the top with some pickles, fries, and more toum. They also drizzled some pomegranate molasses on the chicken shawarma, which gave it a tangy but also fruity aftertaste. We also ordered the charcoal chicken and kebab. The kebab, instead of normal beef on a stick, actually came with some yellow rice and some REALLY GOOD spicy seasoned bread that was very soft and moist on some parts and crispy on the others. You could literally see the spice particles on it. The charcoal chicken was juicy, tender, and had that charcoal roasted flavoring. It even came with a bunch of complimentary fries. The fries on both the shawarma and the charcoal chicken was nicely battered, and the shawarma fries were very well seasoned. The only thing is that the bathroom is through a door that leads upstairs, and you have to open two doors. If you’re someone like me and don’t like the feeling of putting grip on things with sticky stuff on your hands, you won’t like that. It’s one of those turn knobs. Finally, the music made me feel like I was actually back in Abu Dhabi watching fire shows while eating falafel. Please visit, they are amazing people who make amazing food!“
