We came from NC and after visiting Puerto Rico several times I was so excited for this experience! She was so patient with us! Answered all our questions with a very helpful and cheerful attitude even tho she was drowning in drink orders! With only one other helper, she never showed any frustration and provided excellent above and beyond customer service! The cashier with her was brand new and super sweet as well! Camilla even gave me a hug when we left! She made my whole morning! And gave us the absolute best breakfast recommendation as well! Thank u so much Camilla for your grace and kindness this morning. U had no idea that my Morning started out so crappy, and your sweet personality and loving spirit really turned my day around and the tres leches latte was AMAZING 🙌🏼🩷💯 yall go see them and be patient …..it’s worth the wait ❤️ side note… the whole place is decorated beautifully! “It’s because of Brahim, the incredible food, drinks, and ambiance that I’m happy to give five stars. Even though my friend and I waited 15 minutes before we finally flagged a server to come to our table, it was so quickly made up by Brahim’s service, charm, and attention. Clearly there must have been a miscommunication regarding who was servicing our table because once Brahim took over, we had our food in drinks in a matter of a few MINUTES! Not to mention, kindness, charm, and attentiveness. It’s such a vibe with the tropical decor, and the food was so delicious. I will be coming back!“

I was able to just drive up this week and saw they are indeed still open, so I am revising my review to account for their tasty eats. I finally got my birria empanadas, and I'm pleased. :)Initial Review:I placed an order online 2 weeks ago, but when I went to pick it up the place was completely closed. I called and called some more but no one ever picked up the phone. Now the phone is disconnected. I think it's safe to say I'm not getting those empanadas. :(The order online option is still totally active too which feels a bit scammy to me.“

Came in after seeing the meal deals they have, they’ve got some great options like the 2 or 3 empanada with a drink deals, I personally got the sandwich meal with the drink and fries. Super good price! I got the turkey blt and it was so delicious, and the fries were also super yummy! The man at the front who took my order and brought my food was extremely nice and welcoming!

Very cozy inside, they have a good little seating arrangement and a TV playing random news or whatever is put on for entertainment. Great vibe!

“I was in the Penn Station area today and had a craving for fried chicken. Initially, I was thinking about going to a certain Filipino fried chicken chain, but after checking the ratings, Pollo Camino came out on top. They’ve recently opened a new branch near Penn Station, but I ended up visiting their 8th Ave location instead — a small, single-storefront shop with a simple interior.

I ordered the fried chicken set for $9.99, which came with two pieces of chicken, a piece of bread, one side, and a drink for an extra $1.
• Drink: I went with their Horchata, made with peanuts and vanilla ,milk, without the cinnamon and rice I’m used to. It had a nice aroma, refreshing, and a bit different — in a good way.
• Side: I chose yuca fries, served in large sticks. The inside was dense than potato, with a lightly crisp exterior. Personally, I wasn’t a fan — I’d say skip this and go for another side.
• Fried Chicken: Lightly battered with a noticeable blend of spices and herbs. The meat was tender, while the skin wasn’t the super-crispy kind you’d get from those well-known Louisiana or Kentucky-style chains. Flavor was solid, but here’s an important tip — just like with many fried chicken places, don’t let it sit too long. Once it cools, the saltiness becomes much more pronounced.

Service gets a full 5 stars in the fast-food category — no self-service pick-up here, they bring your food right to the table.

Overall, Pollo Camino is worth trying if you’re around Penn Station. The price is fair, the chicken is flavorful, but choose your side wisely and eat it while it’s hot. Next time I’ll try a competitor for comparison, but for now, my top spot still belongs to Louisiana chain.“

“Wow! Was totally surprised as a first time visitor as it’s a pizza front and not a big place ! However my husband and I were part of a 14 person party tonight’s a mix diet of them individuals in attendance from vegan vegetarian and finicky and all American diet ! we had appetizers of mussels the sauce was medium and those that ate them raved about them the garlic knots were a perfect blend of butter and garlic the rice balls moist and cheesy and the calamari so tender it was excellent the small soups were a meal in its self! And the main dishes from vegan, italian, build your own, fish , meat and pasta entrees to empanadas each dish was a culinary delight so fresh tasty and the portions huge! Our group was extremely happy with their choices so much food for the price which was very reasonable! We made sure we met the chef and complimented him! Our waitress Rosa was friendly accommodating and always on top of our tables to ensure everyone’s needs were met and everyone was enjoying our dinner experience truly an asset to the business and her assistant Angel just as excellent! This place is truly a gem and perfect for the vegan and non vegan palate what a find tight in our own neighborhood my family will definitely be back!
