I had the quesabirria tacos- delicious!! It’s so great to finally have an authentic and tasty taco spot in Garfield. And the staff was so sweet and friendly. “Our first time going to the Totowa location (met up with friends for lunch). Staff was very friendly and helpful - we decided to eat outside and they brought the food to us quickly. We had the tacos, regular bowl with carnitas and fajita bowl with steak and pina-mango drink. Food was very tasty and freshly made. Will come back to try El Pastor. Definitely recommend Sombrero Tacoria.“

They could probably stand to swap staff more between locations to help improve consistency and train employees.

Our bartender, Francesca was also a vibe & makes the best cosmos I’ve ever had…I definitely recommend the Thai chili wings. They were amazing the crispy chicken tacos also looked good. I would rate the food 10 out of 10 the drinks 10 out of 10 the customer service 10 out of 10. It’s definitely a must if you haven’t come down to the hive, I promise you will not regret. “As a Hispanic person in a predominantly white town like Westwood, the rate on this store does not match their true authenticity. This is what a true Mexican restaurant is like and the ambience matches that as well. The food is incredible and despite its look I promise you this is as close as you can get to a perfect taco. I recommend a classic bistec taco and a tall glass bottle of coke. This is extremely refreshing to feel and see my culture up close and feel close to home even here in Jersey. Again I’ve been eating tacos my ENTIRE life and can confirm this place deserves 5 stars. You don’t need an extremely fancy set up or overpriced anything to make the food taste better. This is overall the one of the best Mexican restaurants in the county.“

I find it very hard to find solid, authentic Mexican food in NJ and this place nails it every time (extra points for how many vegetarian options they have!) Every thing we have tried here is 10/10 -- and I am saying that as someone who spent years in OK/TX where you can find top notch Mexican food everywhere. The tacos are exactly like the ones I had in Mexico. Delivery can take some time but that is because they have such high demand- so I recommend eating there. Very cute colorful atmosphere inside.“

There is only seating at the counter, so I guess it’s meant to be pickup primarily, but the food was quick and delicious and the young woman working behind the counter was friendly and helpful. I had the steak fajitas and my son grabbed some “Dirty Nachos”. Great experience. Will definitely go back to explore the menu further.“

“I come to this spot at least once a week. I wish more people knew about this place. It’s such a hidden gem and the food is amazing. I recently got obsessed with Poké bowls out of nowhere and was looking for a place in New Jersey that did them and I found this one Rutherford. The owner is super nice and hands-on and is always trying to make that atmosphere feel super welcoming. They also have some really cool snack snacks and drink drinks here other than the Poké bowls definitely would recommend.“
