“I’m truly obsessed with this place. It’s my hidden gem in Yonkers. The food is always fresh, delicious, & made with so much care that you can taste it in every bite. My family loves it so much that they have catered several of our parties. The staff are incredibly warm & treat us like family every time we walk in, & you can see how much hard work & heart they put into running this small business. Places like this are rare now, & they truly deserve our support. Shoutout to Leti at the front who always brightens my day. I would recommend this place a million times. I only review the very best“

“Completely surprised and intrigued with the menu. This is NOT a Mexican food restaurant as the name might fool you. The shrimp taco wrapped in seaweed paper was so fresh tasting,crunchy and absolutely delish. Fried rice served in your own skillet and you mix the egg in was the best! The smores waffle with homemade custard ice-cream was to die for. Bartender Robbie is a pro mixologist with really new style drinks. This place was a treat and I cant wait to go back. “My friend nd I wanted Birria tacos so we found this restaurant off of TikTok. I stood in the car while he got the food but when he came back with the food he had a huge smile on his face. He said the costumer service was amazing and the lady that served him (I’m not sure of her name but she was an older lady) was very nice to him. She even gave us an extra free water. “IXIM TACO feels like one of the more promising new additions to Hackensack’s Main Street.

What immediately separates it from the usual fast-casual taco experience is the tortilla. Corn tortillas are pressed fresh to order, and that detail changes the entire structure of the taco. They arrive warm, soft and with an actual corn character rather than simply functioning as a container for the filling.

We tried the chicken, fish and birria tacos, which gave us a good first look at the kitchen. The fish taco is the more constructed of the three, while the birria delivers the richer, slower-cooked side of the menu. But the common thread remains the masa, and that seems to be where IXIM is building its identity.

The restaurant itself is casual and efficient rather than theatrical. The emphasis is clearly on fresh preparation, quick service and a relatively focused menu.

It is still a young concept, and that is perhaps the most interesting part. IXIM feels less like a finished statement than a very good promise. If they maintain the quality of the tortillas, ingredients and execution as the restaurant grows, this could become one of the more distinctive taco spots in Hackensack and Bergen County.

I just ordered bistec a la Mexicana. I can already taste it. But I do have to try and see what it's like. I like mine, small but thick cuts and lots of sweet white onions that blend with the peppers, roasted tomatoes, and jalapeños with the rice and beans. Absolutely can't wait. I do have to run to the store for the coca cola with the cane sugar. All other cokes are fake. The mexican glass bottle one is it.“
