“The kindest gentleman made my wife and I the most amazing turkey, ham, and provolone hoagie this morning as we were passing through from NC doing some family genealogy nearby. Holy smokes! There was easily an inch and a half of meat on the footlong! The bread was perfect. The tomato and lettuce were very fresh. When we carried the hoagie out to the car, we were surprised how heavy the sandwich was. Definitely getting our money‘s worth here! Wow, and it tasted even better than I’m describing!!“

“I grew up in the area and knew Otto when I was a child. I later knew his son Elmud. This is an old style deli where they used to slice cold cuts to order. Their Peppy Potatoe salad and coleslaw is the best on planet earth. There always used to be a big jar of jawbreakers and fireballs at the cash register. The smell of the pickle barrel and deli meats was classic and so good’“

“Stopped in for lunch on our way to Adirondacks and felt immediately welcomed (even though we arrived 20 min before closing). My husband had a western egg sandwich and the homemade corned beef hash, which was exceptional. I had a tuna sandwich and while it’s hard to get excited about tuna fish, it was a perfect sandwich. This is the type of neighborhood place that every town had at one point - a place where people met to eat, share the news of the day, connect - and of which there are too few today. A real gem.“

“Working at a house in the area and this place was 8 minutes from the jobsite. It's a bit expensive but saves you from running down the mountain so you're paying for convenience. Tried the taylor ham, egg and cheese. It was prepared well and the roll was super soft. Was it New Jerseys best? Definitely not, but overall it was decent. Co-worker got a sandwich off the board, believe it was the Susie. Once again, not blowing your socks off, but still decent. Definitely at the top end of deli pricing but an ok spot to grab a bite. Service was slow but we didn't call in and it seemed like they were a bit busy. Staff was polite.“

“This place never disappoints. Great soups and authentic Italian Wedding. I ordered a specialty cake for a rehearsal dinner and wanted a vintage look. They did a great job. I showed Estella, the main baker a picture of what I wanted and she followed it to a T. It was half the price of what some of these Instagram bakers ask for. More than that however, the ambiance/vibes/service is what will keep you coming back time and time again. Beth is a sweetheart who I’d vote for president if her name was on the ballot. I was a lost soul in a strange land (sloatsburg) when I first stumbled upon spring street north deli… and Beth made it feel like I’d found a home. A home that will let you order a lb of tuna salad and a lb of egg salad for lunch and watch you down both without judgment. I can not under emphasize how much I love Spring Street North Deli. Do yourself a favor and hit them up!“

“As others have mentioned, from a customer service standpoint, I find them very friendly and approachable; their prices are indeed a bit high.

My other critique would be the atmosphere. Sometimes I wonder if they’ve ever cleaned out that big in-wall air conditioning unit to prevent mold…probably not? But hey, it’s convenient for certain things, could just use a bit of love, aesthetically. Imagine if one could actually see in and out of their windows…just that would brighten it up.“

“I lived in Ridgewood and grew up on Wilkes potato salad. I moved to the Midwest in 1987 where they do not know what a true deli is.
Last year I had the opportunity to pass through Ridgewood, buying 4 lb of potato salad to take home! It is absolutely addictive!
If you haven't already, I would put your recipe in fort Knox and closely guard it! It's that good!“

“The place is always clean, well stocked and a good variety. The owners and workers are always friendly and the aim to please. They give you very generous portions. It is hard to find a good deli and I have. It isn't far from my job. I highly recommend this deli“

“Great food and staff. I go there often and I have never gotten anything that wasn't delicious. The bagels are amazing. Unfortunately I am now gluten free but their gluten free bagels are very good. The salads and the fries are really good too. The prices aren't crazy and the portions are decent. The staff is always friendly and willing to accommodate any special requests that I may have. This is definitely my favorite bagel shop.“

“Overall restaurant was excellent. Food was prepared well and was delicious. Especially liked the rice balls and the pistachio ricotta cheesecake! Waitstaff was attentive, but not intrusive. Prices were in line with today's restaurant prices. Would've been nice to have Italian background music or something soft rather than rock which was a little loud at first.“
