“Our waitress was the sweetest and they have some really unique menu items. I’d say their sweet choices are better than the savory but we enjoyed everything we had. Cornbread French toast was particularly sublime! The French press Kona coffee was a great start to the day. My one small complaint was the cleanliness of the dishes. My coffee mug had a visible red lipstick stain, my water glass had food particles on it and one of my plates was dirty. Just a small critique there. The space is nice open and not stuffy. And I noticed a good amount of foot traffic overall!“

“Always a pleasant and relaxing place for brunch , today was no exception. Ben our server was attentive and efficient, friendly and helpful. Our food was delicious as always. My son had the Shaksuka which looked great and which he said was excellent and not overly spicy. I had one of my favorites, Power Grain Pancakes. They are huge and flavorful, 2 always leave me with leftovers. The omelets and lemon blueberry pancakes are also excellent. Don’t forget to get the French press coffee; today we had Ethiopian which was so good I drank it black.

“It's definitely a sketchy part of the city but their food is really good, and they seem like friendly enough people. My fave thing to order here is the chicken and waffles. The chicken is never seasoned but still good somehow,just needs some salt and pepper (+). Their grits are pretty good as well, not lumpy like some other breakfast spots.“

“This was the first restaurant my Grandmother took me to when I came to Philly when I was 8 I am going to be 44 in 2 months. Loyal customer for 36 years. They fed my family for 3 generations. It's not the same owners I started out with but the quality of food never changed and these owners owned it for decades. If you can ignore what's going on outside it's a great stop. The neighborhood changed the restaurant did not.“

It says you get 1 pancake but I ordered another one which ended up being bad idea because their pancakes are HUGE the picture probably doesn’t do it justice. Overall, good food and good service. I had my money and the check at the edge of the counter. And it did not disappoint! The food is great and there’s plenty of it! I had the western omelette and home fries and could not finish it. Hubs got two eggs, bacon, sausage and home fries and also could not finish. The service is excellent, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. A must try!!“

“Had breakfast here today while in town for a show at the Met. Rashida greeted us upon entry and was very friendly. We both enjoyed our meals. Food was cooked right and was delicious and generous. I had eggs with home fries, sliced thin and crisped perfectly. I had turkey scrapple and it was cooked crispy , just as i requested. Neither of us could finish our meals but we sure wanted to! Great place to stop for a neighborhood breakfast if in town for a show at the Met!!“

The first time i went i placed an order on Slice. They dont really use Slice so they didnt get my order. The staff handled it nicely and made my food. I showed them my email that I paid. (Dont use slice)

Quite a few reviews commented that the staff is rude. Not true. They give the energy they are given. While waiting, I witnessed a few rude customers and the staff simply rolled their eyes. Not professional but.... warranted. Lol
