“The review that I gave is based on the fact I that the two times that my husband & I was there the service was very slow, the food was just warm and we asked the server to please make sure the food is hot & during brunch the music was so loud we couldn't hear each other talk. I might also add we don't understand the strict dress code on your website after seeing everything you mentioned unacceptable was accepted.”

“No matter who you are or where you’re from, there’s a strong chance that you’re familiar with the meaning of “Taco Tuesday,” which exists across the US, from Los Angeles to small-town Tennessee, from food trucks in the barrios to high-end restaurants in hipster haunts. For some of us, it might simply call for going out and getting tacos or even just preparing our own.

Situated in the middle of a residential neighborhood in Roselle Park, this establishment is set inside a small corner suburban home where some of my colleagues decided on takeout, which came highly recommended. Upon arrival at Taqueria La Casita, or “The Little House Taqueria,” we were confronted outside by the neon signage reading “Tacos Open” and Mexican flags, among other pieces of colorful decor.

Greeted by the staff inside an un-air-conditioned cozy dining room decked out in its Mexican splendor with 4 tables. In the back, a colorful menu with nearly a dozen different types of tacos and an array of other dishes written by hand.

We opted for individual orders containing 4 tacos with Shrimp, Chicken, Steak, and Pork. While waiting, we couldn’t help but notice the trompo—the spinning, shawarma-adjacent log of marinated pork used for Al Pastor, which translates to “in the style of the shepherd.” Originating in Puebla, this came at the hands of Lebanese immigrants during the 1930s.

The tortilla itself was freshly made, of the corn variety. They were stuffed to the brim with meat prepared in front of us and served with cucumbers and lime. Fresh condiments of diced onion, cilantro, and avocado were separated in their own container, and all were needed. Various sauces accompanied in small containers, such as green, which was jalapeño-based; the darker red salsa was smoky from dried and smoked chipotle chilis; and neon orange, which was a sauce made from chili de arbol and tomato. The guacamole was absolutely delicious along with the chips, and we couldn’t get enough. The portion was a healthy size.

The service was fast; Maribel was friendly and accommodating. Authentic, fresh, and affordable—we can recommend this place.”

“Great local spot for drinks and food, with tons of TVs and all the sports, plus a cool little outdoor seating area. Has its own parking lot too. The food was pretty great, we had a small bar pie that had good flavor and crunch, and the disco fries were awesome. They're curly fries, which is great. Good service too, basic tap list but the domestics are $3 all day every day?? Sign me up. Live music on Fridays too, would definitely go back.”

“This restaurant is so chic with the hanging flowers. The service was fantastic! All the staff are very attentive! The food was amazing! The creamy salmon with spinach was flawless. The salmon dish was so delicious that I plan on replicating this at home. Fingers crossed! The portions are very generous! My husband had the chicken & shrimp rigatoni which he said that was the best pasta he ever had. We will definitely go back! I want to try other dishes. Lastly, we had the churros for dessert with our coffees and that was a great way to end our date night. Stop in! It is 💯 worth the stop. You will love the atmosphere, food and service. Guaranteed! “I recently visited your Dunkin’ location, and while the service was good and the staff was friendly, I was disappointed with the condition of the restrooms. They were quite dirty and not well-maintained, which took away from the overall experience. I hope this can be addressed to improve the cleanliness moving forward.”

“I got bored with my usual Chinese take-out places (average food, insane delivery fees, long wait...) so I tried this place last night. The prices were reasonable, delivery was quicker than they stated, and the food was delivered piping hot. I mean hot as if they cooked it in the car outside my house. And absolutely delicious. I can't recommend this place enough - try it!”

We really enjoyed the bar pies however, the crispier ones were way better than the others. if they sit and get soggy, it's not as good. Def best right out of the over.
