“Barnacle Bill’s is an absolute staple of the Rumson area and is a must visit. It’s a bar/tavern/grog shop that is somewhat trapped in time but in the absolute best way. It’s dark, loud and crowded but it just feels perfect. Burgers are charbroiled and the steak fries are great. Service is surprisingly good and the people watching is even better. I’m really happy places like this still exist.“

“I want to disclose that essentially you should go here if you want to experience unique surroundings… settled in the tip of Sandy Hook Park, the restaurant is in a restored mule bar !!! “My new favorite spot! The ladies at the counter are absolutely phenomenal... seriously, not only is the food amazing (and made any way you ask!), the service can't be topped. A great spot with greater food and greatest people... a dying breed. I combined two omelets; the veggie and the...big daddy I believe? All the meats and all the veggies, Swiss and cheddar homefries toast and a bagel... snagged some bacon slices and with that topped off two sandwiches with hot coffee, a big glass of OJ, and a water.Unreal.I can't lie though, I didn't finish the water ?“

“This place highlights itself through many ways, first of all, the food is simply amazing. Me and my friends ate a pizza there, the best we’ve ever eaten. The workers were very polite. Neither of us was able to finish our dinner as they give you so much food. The only complaint I had, which might have been corrected if I asked, was they only gave 3 tortilla shells with the fajitas. “Food is good quality and not your average fare. I like the pulled pork and the turkey sandwich as well as the shoestring fries. All are seasoned well. A bit pricey for the size of the "little" hero but who doesn't over charge today? Only probelm is they seem to have has a gnat problem over the summer. The staff was friendly and engaging and the burgers and wings hit the spot. And it's always nice to have a great view of sandy hook while eating. Manager Meredith is very accommodating with respect to directing me to the table where my beloved Rams will be featured on the big screen..My bartender/ waitress- Sanai- is an absolute delight and treats me like a king (I'm so grateful for her attention and conscientiousness)..Thus far, I've only ordered beef nachos. I was a little sad that the vat of pickles was gone but it's been a long time since I've been here so who knows when it disappeared. The boss/owner was there when I went in and to be honest, he seemed like an absolute jerk. I felt bad for the staff who were having to deal with his rudeness and grumbling. He couldn't even speak to them like an adult. He sat with his back to them and barked orders at them through his burger, never once turning around to address them properly. He did this in front of customers too, so I can imagine it's worse when no one's around.
