“We visited Hershel’s East Side Deli which was recommended by Somebody Feed Phil. It was one of our favorites among the trip to Philly. They sliced the meat in a sense of urgency, stacked it with huge amount and it looked extremely satisfying.We had a Our Famous Reuben Sandwich, Daily Soup and Salad Platter Sampler. The portion was huge with reasonable price. There are 4 options for Our Famous Reuben Sandwich and we had Corned Beef. It was satisfying when we saw how thick it was and the texture was pretty moist with refreshing pickles.“

“I had a great time here! I’m visiting Philadelphia from out of town. You order at the front counter — the server was affable and had a great suggestion when I asked which cheesesteak to get with coleslaw. I got the Heater with hot sauce on the side. The cheesesteak was a comfortable amount of spice and i got to control my ratio of hot sauce to coleslaw. I am a coleslaw enjoyer as well: the coleslaw here was light, fresh and it cut through the spice and balanced the fat flavor in the cheesesteak, perfectly. Highly recommend!“

“Delicious! Only had their cheesesteak here, which was very unique. Their non-seeded hoagie roll was also fresh and tasty. The cherry pepper mayo used may get a little overwhelming as there's a lot going into this steak. I ordered online on a late Monday afternoon and took about 10 minutes for two to be made. “My coworkers and I visited Human Robot and Poe’s Sandwich Joint on a recent work trip to Philly (we have a brewery in Baltimore). Everything was fantastic! We ordered a few sandwiches to share, and they kindly cut them up in smaller portions so we could share more easily. We also got a few orders of loaded fries, which were great for the table. The Italian pork and cheesesteak sandwiches were great, but the Seoul Girl fried chicken sandwich was out of this world. Great combo of flavors and textures. Great food, great service, and great atmosphere! Human Robot also has a dynamic list of both traditional and more more modern beer styles that really hit the spot.“

“A staple in the Reading Terminal market, so I had to give it a try. Roast Pork Sandwich with peppers - The sandwich came with some thickly wrapped butchers paper. Thinly cut roast pork was kinda dry by them self, but it got better as you make your way down the sandwich. Loads of sauce, soup? Was slowly making its way down the sandwich, thankfully for the abundance for paper there was not too much drippage. Would recommend opening it up and eating it on a table.“

Yeah, thick with 3 c's.I only ate half for lunch, and I have a big apetite (give me an hour or two and I'll probably go finish it ?). You want to talk about the BEST hoagie spots, to me, this is one of the spots that sets the bar. I don't mind the $12.99 tag on this when you get what you pay for. The roll holds up, the lunch meat is quality, the veg is crisp and delish. Someone tried telling me this place has fallen off and they serve lettuce sandwiches. Naw, this should be the standard if you're going to put the hoagie on a pedestal.“
“Was looking for somewhere with breakfast and while they did have a breakfast sandwich I saw the cornmeal crusted fish and fried potatoes on the menu and needed to try it. It was delicious! The fish was cooked perfectly, crunchy on the outside and still juicy on the inside. The potatoes were also great, kind of like chopped up potato skins. Overall very delicious. One recommendation would be to add more sauces to choose from, I was not a fan of the stock sauce.“

“I love this place. The bagels are huge and not expensive. All bagels are made fresh daily. Great tasting full of flavor. The reason I love this place is they make a spicy bagel and a spicy cream cheese, it's sooo go not to spicy just the right touch. They also offer servel other flavor cream cheese that they make fresh. Like strawberry, vegetable French toast. Highly recommend getting a dozen bagels and a few containers of cream cheese. They also make breakfast sandwiches on those bagels.“

“Went here for the first time today and I had a great experience. IHop down the street was packed at the time so my boyfriend picked this spot after walking down the street from there. Soon as i came into the cafe I was immediately impressed with the interior decor and the place just feels so cozy. I got a spanish omelette sandwich and they gave me so many options that comes with it such as fries, bread, and cheese. Cashier lady was really patient and kind too as I asked for least amount of calories and she tried her best to help me figure out what I wanted to get. I got my order to dine in and it was more of a casual dining experience where they give you plates and baskets that you can leave in the bin once you’re done. Food was good really fast and nice service.“

“I've come to Bubby's for many years for breakfast and lunch until my job moved to another section of the City. Now I so miss everything Bubby. I happened to be in the area for a meeting and said I just had to stop and get one of my favorites from Bubby's - the chicken cutlet hoagie. You watch the plentiful cutlets being breaded on the spot before being fried and placed in the hoagie roll with any trimmings and cheese you may want. They also do awesome Philly cheesesteaks, hot sausages, hot dogs, and you name the breakfast sandwich and he can probably make it. They also have the sides like fries or onion rings. Or maybe oatmeal or grits. The homemade lemonade is the bomb. Bubby's is so much better than any Wawa. The place is super small and there's no tables...just enough room for about six to wait standing inside the sliding glass door if it's cold and windy or rainy. You have to be patient as lines sometimes get long, but moves quickly. Prices are very reasonable. CASH ONLY! Boy, do I miss Bubby's. I wish he opened up near me! “After driving from NC to NJ to have my favorite hoagie from Northfield Deli, we discovered the heartbreaking reality that they were out of business. This left us with a predicament- go back home or find a new favorite dive. Of course we made the obvious choice! We visited White House Subs due to their famous past- huge let down! Back to the drawing board, I read lots of reviews & decided to drive an hour to give Jersey Joe’s a try. Absolutely worth every mile traveled! For starters, the owner, Joe, cut up with me from the get go. From there he made both me & my husband feel like family- sharing about his, genuinely interested in our story & where we were from. We talked, laughed, & cut up the entire time our food was being prepared. However, during that time several other customers came in & I noted how he knew each of them by name- it reminded me of the old tv show Cheers where they yelled “Norm!” That speaks volumes about Joe & the quality of the food, as clearly they were all regulars. I ordered the Italian & my husband had the Philly Cheese. Let’s just say that Joe was extremely generous with more than just the quantity of food. We were overwhelmed & humbled by his kindness. The place was very clean & well kept & there are plenty of signs that lets you know in advance that it’s cash only, which just isn’t a big deal people. Now, I would note that there’s no inside seating. However, there is a nice park only two minutes away. We went there & enjoyed our meal. The portions you get are insane. See the pics from the side that shows the depth of meat. The veggies were fresh, bread was fresh, & meat in abundance. From meeting Joe to thoroughly enjoying the food, needless to say I’ve found my new favorite NJ deli!“

But customer wise the service is friendly and fast. The ambiance is that you are outside so you can listen to the construction happening next door or to the outside noises.
