“Ordered our Thanksgiving meal after seeing a post on Facebook. Everything was incredible (sorry, no pics but trust me!). The whole process was super easy from ordering to pick up. The entire staff working the day before Thanksgiving were nothing but sweet and helpful. I even ordered some lunch to go when I picked up our dinner. Just a simple egg salad wrap and it was amazing. This was my first time coming to Wayside and definitely not my last. Thanks for helping make our Thanksgiving a little less stressful and a lot more delicious!“
“I wish I would’ve taken a picture but didn’t think of it at the time. Had the state street cutlet and it was phenomenal. The whiskey battered onion rings were delicious. Place was clean. Guy behind the counter was super friendly and nice. It was my first time here and I’ll definitely be back to try some of the other items.“
“In reference to the earlier review about “racism”, I’m a re-occurring customer to this location and I was in the store this morning when the situation went down. The gentleman behind the counter simply told the man that he could not have 3 lunch specials, as It is only one per person. The man began to yell and threaten the workers behind the counter yelling that they were all racist. It was a very unfortunate event. Just felt the need to clear that up since that man seems to be not telling the story the way It actually happened. There was absolutely in no way any racism involved. The rule is one lunch special per person. I felt that my own safety was in danger during the incident because of him making a scene and threatening to hurt the staff. When I got to the counter the apologized repeatedly, which wasn’t necessary. The staff there is great and so is the food. I have been eating primos since I was a kid and this place always brings me that nostalgia. I have nothing but the upmost respect for these guys and the hard work they put into their business each and every day.“
“One of the best subs I’ve tried!!! Such a hefty portion, too. Get the cheesesteak! Service was awesome, such friendly staff. The inside is definitely a vintage sub shop feel. And after you get your sub, go down to the Governor Printz park two blocks away to have a picnic and watch the planes from PHL depart. :)“

“No one makes a better hoagie or cheesesteak. Anywhere. If they served crinkle cut fries it would be better than the ones they have. But it's a sandwich shop, so can't really go wrong grabbing chips instead. The sandwiches are the absolute best I've ever had.“
“Old school! In from NYC on biz…had looked this place up. So much better than most of the Philly center tourist traps. The large cheesesteak was enough for 3 meals, and the meat was so good and cooked perfectly. The meatball sub was damn good too! Dreaming about that cheesesteak! Nice staff too!“

“Our new favorite soup and sandwich shop. Friendly and polite staff. TV screens in the dining area show videos of dogs and photos of local pets. It was a nice place to relax and enjoy our lunch. Sandwiches are fresh and made to order. We got the half soup-half sandwich combo. Very satisfying. We grabbed orange creamsicle muffins for breakfast the next day. The texture was cakey and full of flavor. Their motto is smile, be kind. do good. We felt this location is living up to that motto.Kid-friendliness: Excellent place to take kids. “I don't write many reviews and I honestly just finished eating, but this food was out of this world. I ordered the shrimp po boy and the beef empanada, and oh my God that was some of the best food that I have ever door dashed. Do yourself a favor and eat at this place. Also, I don't know if they make their lemonade in house but it is delicious.“
