“The restaurant was beautiful, I meet a gentleman named Jimmy, we talked about the king crabs in the water tank! There was a blue king crab live which I’ve never seen before! Jimmy, explain to me about all the other shellfish and fish that was in their tank. I’m diffidently celebrating my birthday here! So, serving was wonderful!!! But!!’ The food was outstanding! “Loved the decor and the overall vibe of the restaurant. The food was delicious. Very good quality meat. We got the beef oil and pork bone broth and it was delicious. We also ordered the the house fried rice which was so yummy. The sauce selection was great too. Service was good as well.

“This place is the most solid and consistent American Chinese restaurant in the entire New Brunswick area. Portions are fantastic and the food is always so hot and fresh. They are happy to accommodate my vegan partner by subbing tofu for meat in already vegan dishes.“

“Went because it has gluten free. Had reservation. Host said we would be next, as soon as a couple left. A couple of guys came in and greeted one of the servers. The couple left the table and the server went to seat her friends. The host stopped her and sat us. Kudos to the host. The other diners were very friendly, even offering tastes of their meal. I

“Fortune Cookies is tucked away, far from the hustle and bustle of the nearby mall. Don’t let the exterior fool you—this restaurant serves authentic Chinese food. The string beans (my go-to dish at every Chinese restaurant) were exceptionally well-flavored and cooked. The other dishes my partner ordered were also delicious, but the string beans definitely stood out! They were also kind enough to allow my small service dog to dine with us.“

“I ordered fried dumplings and Chicken Fried rice. The texture of the rice is good but the taste is a little blunt. But adding the hot sauce made it good to eat. I guess I forgot to say to make it spicy. But the taste is really good. With the fried dumpling it's still hot by the time we got home. That's good. But I recommend eating in the restaurant or as soon as possible. if you ordered pick-up, just remember that there is a chance that it gets soggy by the time you get home, but the taste was still good. “I've always liked the food from China City 2, and I've never had a bad meal from here. Also, the lady is very nice and friendly. However, since the pandemic began in early-2020, their prices have gone through the roof!!! I understand, same thing could be said for supermarkets, gas, and the supply chain, but this is borderline insane pricing! Maybe their rent went up 75%? Not sure... Whatever the case may be, I used to be able to get a soup, egg roll, and some kind of chicken or beef and broccoli dish, with roast pork fried rice, for around $12. Now it's around $19. Big difference! Still fresh, clean and tasty, but for a take-out joint, a bit overly expensive, to say the least!“

“Food is consistent and has lots of flavor. Always fresh and made efficiently. It’s a standard Chinese spot with limited seating and decorations but the food is delicious.

I have taken the food to multiple events and people unfamiliar with it love it. I hope they continue to have good quality and home style cooking.“

“We love ordering from Ocean Garden and do it weekly when our daughter takes dance class. The owners are super friendly, and the food is always fresh, hot and delicious. The price too is super reasonable, hands down our fav Chinese takeout spot in NJ. It’s authentic too, I am Chinese myself and I appreciate the effort they put into the food. We especially love the boneless spare ribs, dumplings, and the chow fun, the kids prefer this place than anywhere else we order. Support your local business!!“

“New Szechuan Kitchen is a decent Chinese restaurant, though the food is a bit on the greasy side for my liking. The flavors are generally good, but I found the dishes to be a bit overly oily.

That said, I do prefer the Bound Brook location 1,000 times more than this one. The flavor and consistency at the Bound Brook spot is much better in my experience.

Overall, New Szechuan Kitchen is an average Chinese restaurant. The food is okay, but nothing particularly remarkable. If you're in the mood for some classic Chinese fare, it might be worth a try, but I'd recommend the Bound Brook location over this one if you have the option.“

I rated the atmosphere 3 stars because I did not eat inside. Therefore, I can not give the restaurant so a review based on the atmosphere. Ask for the shrimp and broccoli and tell them to put Hunan spicy sauce on it, it's the best. I recommend telling them to undercook the broccoli so it's crunchie.. owners are amazing, great service and really care. “I love their garlic shrimp with scallops menu item. I always get it for take-out. I have eaten at least 20 of them. There is a problem with their packaging. They put the food into a white plastic container that ALWAYS leaks. The container is not water-proof. They put the white container into a brown bag and put that into a plastic bag. The sauce leaks from the white container through the brown bag and into the plastic bag. When I open the white container, I get sauce from the bottom of the container all over my kitchen counter and have a mess to clean up. I have seen other take-out containers and NONE of them ever leak. This business needs to get a liquid-proof or water-proof container to put the food in so the sauce does not leak out. Wake up please!!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered a take-out today July 31, 2024 and was surprised to see they have a new container that, when held upright, does not leak. One good step in the right direction. I wish they would go one more step and use a truly watertight container. Many restaurants use waterproof containers so an even better type of container does exist.“

“Yes it’s a hole in the wall AND the ONLY place in a 30-mile radius where you can feed the entire family for under $20. Quantity is large and the taste not repulsive at all. Quality is consistent and we never had diarrhea. We’ve dined in too and it was clean enough. To those who want service, atmosphere and food allergy accommodations, you really need to double your budget and eat somewhere else. “Everything was exceptional. Scallion pancakes were perfectly crispy. Dumplings cooked perfect and tasty. I normally don’t order sesame chicken because many places over-bread it. Their sesame chicken are big pieces of white meat with no breading. This is our new go to Chinese restaurant.“

“This was the very first Chinese restaurant we have tried since moving to the area last year. I can only rate them by what we ordered, General Tso Chicken (not spicy at all - reason for 4 stars on the food). Had Crab Rangoon appetizer was good and sweet & sour chicken (white meat) it was very tasty.
We sat in the restaurant, service was very fast and the quality of the food was perfect (minus the spiciness) not much to look at inside other than the TV so atmosphere is lower of course.

I would definitely recommend trying them out and judge for yourself.
