Health Food Restaurants near South Orange, NJ

“I love coming inside this store. It’s big and bright, smells great and has an overall welcoming vibe. The staff is helpful, kind and they have the answers to relevant questions. I’m happy because I’d previously only ordered via doordash, now I’ve got rewards and new buddies.

I like to try different smoothies and add an acai base to it. Today, the Orange Power + Acai. Yummy.“

“Just picked up a smoothie and the Las Brisas Wrap, both were excellent! Fresh moist roasted chicken, crunchy cucumbers, fresh greens, carrots and the most delicious dressing! The wrap was so big I could only eat half. I ordered on line and it was ready in about 10 mins. Friendly service was icing on the cake!“

“Best gyro I’ve ever had hands down! The lentil soup is also fantastic. Highly recommended for takeout! (You can eat there but it’s small)“

“Awesome place. Highly recommend!“

“I recently visited Avocados Food Elizabeth Mall and was helped by Salomé, who provided truly exceptional service. She was very attentive and made my take-out sandwich order quickly and perfectly. The place was spotless and had a welcoming atmosphere. My sandwich was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. I highly recommend Avocados Food Elizabeth Mall for anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and a clean environment.“

“This is one of my favorite spots in Harrison.
Great stuff and the employees always welcome me with a smile and appreciation for coming back!
I highly recommend if you’re into healthy food, a great atmosphere!
I can’t name every single staff in there but I absolutely feel valued as a customer when I stop by!“

“I always loved this store, but now even more so, since they added a vegetarian chef! Her black bean burger with homemade guacamole was INCREDIBLE!!!! I also loved the lentil balls with lemon hummus, black bean soup and beet salad. I’ll be going more frequently now, for fresh veggie, grab and go meals.“

“The meals are delicious and filling. I totally recommend“

“We have all the options where I live and every time I get Just Salad I wonder why I eat anywhere else. So many fresh dressing to choose from.“

“We went as a family of 4 this past sunday around 1130am. It was the first time for my kids (6&4). Staff was super friendly and flexible with our order. Ended up splitting a bowl in half and getting some of the toppings on the side. Very happy with the service and feel taken care of. Will be coming back to this location in the near future.“

“Good healthy food with your choice of options“

“The Vermella Bowl from EnjoyaBowls in Harrison, NJ is absolutely incredible. Everything tasted fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. The fruit was super fresh and sweet, the toppings were generous, and the presentation was beautiful. You can really tell they care about quality.

One of my favorite things is how customizable it is. I love that I was able to add and remove items to make it exactly how I wanted — I added a couple extra toppings to mine and it came out perfect. That flexibility makes such a difference.

And the convenience? Unmatched. Being attached to my building makes it dangerously easy to grab one whenever I want something healthy, filling, and delicious.

If you’re in Harrison, this spot is a must-try. Highly recommend!“

“Love ordering from here when I'm in the neighborhood. Very nice ladies and they make sure they get your order right. The guy who saved my granola on the side was the true hero. Ask for any combination- the world is your oyster here 🏖“

“absolutely delicious!!!! I got the half salad and half white rice with spicy salmon and fresh crab with shrimp. Topped it off with lots of veggies. they recommended two delicious sauces“

“Food is of excellent quality. Affordable, fresh, quick. Customer service is awesome as well with very friendly workers! There are 2 locations on Broad St. (1 near Military Park and another by Market St.) and one on Warren St. by Rutgers. Best halal street cart food in Newark!“

“I’ve had several smoothies and juices from Planta and they are by far some of the best smoothies/juices I’ve had! I love the coffee smoothie - it’s a delicious way to start the day. And the Blue Mountie with spirulina is so tasty. Their juices are incredibly fresh and delicious. Most importantly their drinks are naturally sweetened with fruit, honey and dates and not with syrup/sugar. I look forward to trying more of their drinks! Definitely recommend Planta to anyone who is looking for healthy, delicious smoothies and juices with high quality ingredients!“

“The acia bowls and never a long wait very efficient“

“My hubby and I came here for lunch. Once we sat down, we were immediately greeted by our server Austin. I cannot tell you how amazing he was. From the second we sat down until the moment we left, he was outstanding. Friendly, professional, knowledgeable about the food and patient. He gave such great suggestions and I followed his suggestions. I got the quesadilla and my hubby got the rise and shine. Both were so so good! The quesadilla was DELICIOUS. I had it with a sauce on the side and it was amazing. We also spoke with the manager James who was so so nice and professional and just such a pleasure to speak with. Hands down recommend this restaurant and if you are a nice person, ask for Austin!“

“If you’re looking for an amazing pre- or post-workout treat — or just something delicious to satisfy your sweet tooth without feeling guilty — this place is it. The service is always wonderful, and the Cowabunga Smoothie is one of my personal favorites. Everything they serve is made with natural, organic ingredients, so you don’t have to worry about a bunch of ultra-processed stuff going into your body. It’s refreshing to find a spot that focuses on quality while still making drinks that taste this good. It’s always a great choice when you need a quick energy boost to keep your day going. Highly recommended.“

“I recommend the Orgreen bowl and miso soup. A perfect lunch in cold weather.“

“Everyone there are super nice and very helpful. The food is fresh and delicious. They helped me a few time when I did my detox. They have lots of knowledge when your inquiring about a product. I love my tuna salad mix with balsamic vinegar...Yummy!😋 Will definitely recommend them. Can't wait to stock up again. Need to visit Asap! My#1 spot.❤👍“

“The place was empty for 1230pm on a Monday. Maybe because it was raining. Service and food was great! I never had any problems with the food at any Playa bowls. It's always consistent! Tons of flavor and crunch! I ordered the Nica bowl this time to try something different. It tasted great! Still, my favorite is the coco power bowl. Parking is a bit of a pain. You are in downtown Summit.“

“Their smoothies are always spot on and refreshing. I also like their toast and my go to is always the smoked salmon toast. However, I noticed their bread has gotten smaller and thicker. And it was incredibly hard to cut through with all the toppings. They used to use the longer bread so it was easier to manage. Other than that, it’s a nice spot for a quick healthy lunch.“

“Tony " The ♎️ Libra" scales are always on point and balanced...He knows his Nutrition, Nutrients, Homeopathic, Vitamins, Minerals, Wellness, and Maintaining Optimal Health as a maintenance for a Healthy Way of Living...Kathy is Cat Woman to Tony Batman....5 Stars *****“

“Came here shortly after recovering from COVID, as I still felt “off.” Was amazed by the range of herbs, tonics and remedies they offered! Whenever I’m in Newark, I make it a point to stop in and replenish my herbal supply! Highly recommended!“

“Catered from here for my team building / staff appreciation event and it was amazing!! Everyone raved about the food - perfection selection of assorted sandwiches, apple waldy salad was the perfect pick for all taste buds ... truffles fries were the perfect add on, crispy and tasty! You have a whole new team of fans!!! Thank you!“

“I opened up to trying this spot and wow these bowls are so refreshing and delicious
I got one with a mango base and added banaas pineapple coconut with flax seeds. Its basically fruit over a slushy puree its phenomenal and a must have.“

“This cute little place opened up recently in my town. I finally went today and I must say this place was so cozy and adorable. I ordered the Nutella Bowl and it was so delicious! I have to say I think it’s even better than Playabowls. I highly recommend this lovely place. Service was great and sweet. You have to come check out this place asap! This will be on repeat all summer long! Thank you for the amazing service and even better food!“

“This place has cool vibes, I like the atmosphere a lot. The employees are pretty chill and polite. The food portions were kinda small, and I wish it was more food for the price tbh. Overall, I would probably try a different bowl here than the one I got. It does taste very healthy though.“

“First time here. Apparently opened today, 11/13/21 and I'm happy I stopped in.I had the blueberry muffin smoothie and it was very good. Tasted like a liquified blueberry muffin. I think it was on point. I also had the crepe and that was also amazing. I'm picky with food and sweets and I did not mind paying for what i got. Well worth it.And the folks that own it and run it are super nice and friendly. They offer lots of discounts to repeat custys and for referrals. They also do raffles for gift card giveaways. And the place is super clean and very cozy.Try it if you are in town or live nearby.“

“What a cute place!! The owner was so sweet and greeted me warmly when I came in. She gave me a great run down of all the things Craft since it was my first time there and helped me choose. Parking was super easy, parked right across the street with no problem. I got the waffle, blue splash and my friend got the jolly rancher. Very tasty omg I will be back here, wish I lived closer lol“

“The discovery of Souzafit - while working on a project in Mt. Vernon - has just Made. My. LIFE. Not only is the food quality truly platinum-star, the convenince of the meal plans has just incredibly simplified my life. I actually live in North Central New Jersey; so, the Hoboken location is not in close proximity ... HOWEVER, I fully intend to make the occasional trip up there when I return home. 👍❤️“

“Greek Yogurt is the absolute best! Fresh and rich in taste! Portion sizes could be a little bit more generous. 🥲 Highly recommend though.“

“Love Springbone. Someone I know also Gluten-Free and clean eater mentioned SB to me a long time ago and honestly I forgot the name and all about it. Since I found it, it has become a staple in my life. I like to cook but Springbone gives me an enjoyable and delicious break from it, knowing that they care about the same things as me and do it so wonderfully. Thank you SB“

“Cute little protein spot in Newark, shop is clean , staff is friendly and the music was cool . I got the waffles which had light sauce but it was tasty. The only thing that bothered me was this loud beep that happened every like 2-4 minutes

Solid 4/5 would recommend to friend’s“

“Everything about this place was amazing! The food was delicious, looked incredible, and tasted even better. The staff was friendly and professional, especially Alexa, who provided great service. The place was also very clean, welcoming, and had a really nice atmosphere. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend it. 10/10!“

“Enjoy my pina colada smoothie ❤️“

“I love this place. Many options for any type of salad you want.“

“I was in the area with my daughter and we found Green Chop’s. We decided to try it because it looked delicious and healthy. My daughter (6) ordered the chicken noodle soup and she loved it, ate the whole thing! And I got the House Special salad, super delicious packed with veggies, chicken and a very good dressing. I highly recommend this place and will visit again when I’m in the area“

“I just LOVE this place. Servers are friendly and helpful and the food is outstanding. The only negative if I had one is the decor. When they remodeled it, I was hoping for a more warm setting. It has a cool atmosphere plus the plastic seat makes it very cold in the winter time. Any chance of changing it?“
