The soup was incredibly tasty, and the 'mini' size with extra fish was more than enough to feed three people—it’s a great value. I was also pleasantly surprised by the fried milk; I had never tried it before, but the lady was kind enough to give us a sample, and I ended up absolutely loving it. “I am a big sticker for fried food not being greasy and this was the first time I have ever been to this restaurant. The chicken came out HOT which is extremely important and had just the right seasoning. When I didn't see greasy chicken or the paper inside greasy I tried one and before I knew it I had eaten five wings waiting for the rest of my food. And I bought 12 pieces to take home and share. Also try the bean pie OMG I literally ate the entire thing. I purchased the small one. I don't usually eat the crust but it was so delicious.“

Yet it is a true gem with amazing food at good prices and excellent service. My wife and I each ordered pizzas. She got the 12” Chicken Pesto and I ordered the 12” Meat Lover’s. Both came out promptly. It was amazing, the best pizza I’ve had in years. I can’t say too many good things about it. Everything was in perfect harmony, a symphony of umami and cheese. Meatballs, sausage, bacon. It had it all. Each bite a delight. My wife also loved her pizza. We stopped in on a Monday on the way up north for a show. There were a few tables occupied but I would imagine it probably gets busy on weekends. Even so, I would make a point of stopping in here again next time I’m passing through the area at dinner time.“

“My wife and I have been patrons and huge fans of Chez Catherine for nearly 30 years. Last Friday, we happily celebrated our 39th anniversary there with another very fine lunch. It's always a pleasure to be greeted like old friends by owner Stephane Bocket and seated at what we think is the best table in the tastefully decorated, elegant restaurant. We both chose the prix fixe menu. For starters, my wife had the always terrific moules and I a lovely mixed salad. We both chose beef bourguignons for our main course and asked Stephane to suggest wine from the by-the-glass list. His selections of a chablis for my wife and pinot noir for me worked perfectly with the outstanding bourguignons. We finished by sharing a delicious Baba au Rhum, prepared by Stephane at tableside. Dining at Chez Catherine is always a special event to us. Everything about it is first class. If you are unfamiliar with Chez Catherine, it has been one of New Jersey's Top 5 restaurants for nearly 40 years.
