“I see a couple of reviews on here about staff rudeness, but honestly I walked in and greeted them and they were nice. They got my order right away. I maybe waited like 5 minutes in total (ordering and getting it out). Just don’t stand there like a zombie waiting to be attended to… As a Dominican and fellow Caribbean person, the food was delicious. Some Dominicans also add the bigger beans in our rice and peas (Moro de guandules), but that’s like a niche Caribbean thing. LOVE THAT. That’s how I know it’s authentic. I got jerk chicken with rice and peas, sweet plantain and cabbage, and I got a beef patty with coco bread for my son. The chicken was cooked well and was juicy and the rice and peas wasn’t mushy or overly dry. I didn’t even take a picture because it looked so good I just started eating once I got home. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants ACTUAL Jamaican food. It tastes like someone aunty made it after school or something.“

Jerk House is a hidden gem! The fried chicken could use a little more seasoning, but once I tried the jerk chicken and oxtail, it was game over. Both were cooked perfectly juicy, flavorful, and packed with that authentic island taste. The jerk had that smoky heat you can’t fake, and the oxtail was fall-off-the-bone tender. If you’re looking for real Caribbean flavor, this is the spot. OH LAWDDD“

“Good patty spot for a quick bite, one lady was manning the whole spot and she made your order quick. Beef patty crust was a little stale but other than that beef patty and price was good. Ordered and beef patty with cheese and a jerk chicken patty because they didn’t have curry chicken. Jerk chicken patty was perfect buttery soft crust with a good amount of chicken. Highly recommend for the quality and price they offer. Not giving five stars because the beef patty crust was a little hard to chew but other than that great spot“

“Food is excellent. I wish it was a little bigger. Lunch time the line is long they need more room. In the back the cook need more room as well. Excellent seafood soup ,whole fish dinner must try. All the soups are great. Good food . Eat there 2 or 3 times a week.“

“They hooked me up! Delicious food; good portions. I usually get oxtail from Jamaican restaurants. I'd say it's one of the top of the restaurants I've eaten from.

That said, oxtail is generally an expensive meat to buy and can be hard to cook right. So, it can be difficult to find places like this that give you a decent amount. And I've orderd from them a few times, so I can say their potion size is generally consistent from what I've seen.“

“Don’t know why this has mixed reviews cause my experience was pretty decent, portions were good, service was excellent, the lady who served me went above and beyond to get me a nice plate and the food was good as well rice and peas with oxtail, the rice was soft and the meat was tender and juicy, absolutely no complaints, will come back to try their jerk chicken which they had ran out for the day when I came in, keep up the good work!“

“Been coming to Melting Pot for years. The food is always solid and consistent. I haven’t tried anything from here that I don’t like. Jerk chicken and oxtail is always fresh and flavorful. They make a fresh pineapple ginger juice that’s amazing. Everyone I’ve brought here always enjoy the food.“

“This is a great place to eat. Vendors are friendly and food is really good. The j*** chicken was my favorite (really hot, yes!) and the rice is soft, well cooked. They also have a variety of salad mix. The potato salad was really good. I'm not a fish eater but even the seafood smell good. Price is reasonable, I think it's 9$ a pound but less money if the weight is less. It's definitely worth it.

“I absolutely LOVE the food. I got a plate with oxtails, rice & peas, plantains and he makes sure your plate is full. Everything tasted like it was seasoned perfectly, the gravy was surprisingly light and delicious. I’m 1000% going back.
I sincerely doubt the bad reviews are from him, the plates aren’t even the same. I met his Mom too and she was really sweet! Made the experience even better ?

“I like that they offer a $10 lunch special, including veg and plantain with a soda...but it's only chicken. But seriously...you not gonna oder just that! “I Ordered the Large Oxtails and J*** BBQ Chicken . Both dishes were good and definitely worth the detour we took to get there. Oxails wasn't tough, it was almostmeltingin my mouth. The server was very nice and was ok with answering my questions. So service 5, taste food 5 but the decor of the store is definitely a 2. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong. it's a good store and I would definitely eat here a million more times.“
