“Rudra Indian Bistro on Cedar Lane is authentic as it gets. We have been here so many times and will always keep coming back because the food is high quality, healthy, and very delicious. We always start with the House Salad which is a great way to begin your meal. The Tandoori chicken is so juicy and succulent, and the Lamb Korma is one of our favorites. I highly recommend Rudra Indian Bistro! One of the best restaurants of Teaneck...“

“Small, hole-in-the-wall Indian spot tucked away in Cliffside Park that you could easily pass a hundred times without noticing. I decided to give it a try because of the solid Google ratings, and I wasn’t disappointed. The order was prepared quickly and overall the food was pretty good.
The tandoori chicken cubes were very tender, though they could’ve used a little something extra to really take them over the top. Still enjoyable. The lentil soup was very good and stood out.
The menu has a fair amount of options, prices are baseline for the area, and the place was clean. Definitely worth checking out if you’re nearby.“

“The goat curry was amazing! No gamey smell, the meat was super tender, and the flavor was spot on. I could eat the gravy by itself. Plus, they use less salt, and you can always ask them to adjust the dish to your taste.“

“Rudraks on the upper west side is a wonderful Indian restaurant. The food is fresh, delicious unique but familiar. The restaurant is cozy and people seem to really enjoy their time… having nice conversations. I have seen groups of families, couples and also individuals going to have a reasonably priced lunchtime meal Today. We had delicious lunchtime meal for $15 which included an entrée bread, rice, lentils, and dessert. You really can’t be that price and the food is really delicious not oily not greasy and the service is super kind and they make you feel like a very special customer. Thanks very much for such an enjoyable experience.“

“Went for lunch on a random Monday and had the prefix menu, which was absolutely exquisite. Fresh flavors, great portions, everything and I mean everything was just exquisite. I must stop if you find yourself in Irvington, and order a couple times a week if you’re fortunate enough to live there! This place is that good.“

“During the work day week, Bawarchi is one of my go to places for nutritious, tasty, and filling food. During certain time periods, I eat mainly vegetarian and need to go to restaurant or local food locations that authentically understand my dietary need. The channa masala and idli sambar are two of my favorites from here. It's vegetarian and delicious. If I am eating non-veg, I enjoy the Lamb Rogan Josh with basmati rice from time to time. I often enjoy fresh made Chai from here is the early mornings on my long office days.“

“This place was great, if you look at my profile it may see like I only leave good reviews but it’s because I usually only review if the place stood out and this place is one of them. Such a fun a delicious new twist on Indian food. The quality and quantity of the food was great for the price and their homemade mango lassi is delicious. Also got to speak with the owner briefly and he was very friendly. If you are craving Indian but want to try something a little different I would definitely check this place out“

“Overall, a 10/10 experience! Truly a gem to find after a long day at the museum and brisk walk through Central Park.
The food here was amazing! The vegetable samosas, chicken saag, and the chicken tikka masala with the garlic naan was the perfect combination. I really enjoyed the samosa sauces and the spices in each of the chicken dish… the garlic naan was also some of the best I’ve had.
The owner was so welcoming and kind, which made the experience even better. Definitely coming back!“

“Found this place as “Desi Vegan” on google maps, which doesn’t seem to actually exist but is just a sub-menu of this place or something like that. The restaurant itself is definitely a bit of a hole in the wall—just a few tables and no physical menus or anything—but don’t judge a book by its cover. We had some of the best Indian food we’ve had anywhere, and a full vegan lunch for two was like $25. Super authentic, and extremely nice people working there too, even gave us a couple of free samosas as we headed out. I think this’ll be our new go-to spot for the one time a year we fly out of JFK and are driving by near here Updated from previous review on 2026-01-11“

“My wife and I shared a lovely meal here last weekend. The food was delicious and high-quality (not too oily or salty), and the service was delightful. The restaurant operator was very friendly and pleasant to chat with. It’s a small, no-frills sort of place, but nevertheless charming and inviting. Highly recommend.“

“I highly recommend this place. The menu was diverse and had many amazing choices and the food was tasty and affordable. The waiter we had was incredibly nice. I strongly recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala because we enjoyed it very much. The place was small but we enjoyed it and the only thing that I would recommend the staff to do is add some music. A small speaker would make the meal even greater :) Truly a hidden gem!“

“Always outstanding service and willing to get my Tika masala just the right level of spicy for me. Not a beer fan but their 1947 and Taj Mahal are both super. We eat here about 4x a year and have never had a bad meal. They were even kind enough to divide our shared ice cream in three for us. Also, the portions are deceptive. Usually we end up bringing some home but if you are really hungry you might be able we to finish everything. Dishes come with rice but we always order 1-2 orders if regular or garlic naan. It's a small place but I've made reservations for 8 before. They are very accommodating.“

“Got there at 7pm, put our orders in at around 715-720, we got 2/7 of our things we ordered at 730. The rest of the food got to our table around 810ish (according to iPhone photo time stamps). I know the people next to us were also waiting for a second, but dont get me wrong, the food was amazing. Maybe it was just one chef working, but the food was absolutely amazing. A bit of wait, but all is good with good company.“

“I had to make a gmail account for this review. I don’t know why some people give this place 1-2 stars I absolutely love the food here. Another thing is trying some place all the time they may get 1 dish off balance which we all make mistakes especially for someone that cooks all the time. Anyway the food here is amazing. This is like my 15th time trying the food and it’s always great. Try the lassi everyone! Also the gentlemen in the front in the morning amazing service ! Thank you for the affordable lunch special! Hope you guys succeed!“

“Manhattan Valley is an absolute gem for Indian cuisine right in the heart of Manhattan. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm and welcoming, making it a perfect spot whether you’re dining casually or celebrating something special.
The food is the real star here. Every dish was bursting with authentic flavor, perfectly spiced, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. From the rich, creamy curries to the fresh naan and aromatic rice, everything tasted incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared. You can tell a lot of care goes into each plate.
The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to help with recommendations. Despite being in the middle of NYC, the experience felt personal and unrushed, which is hard to find.
If you’re looking for top-tier Indian cuisine in Manhattan, Manhattan Valley is a must-visit. This place delivers on flavor, quality, and hospitality, and it’s definitely somewhere I’ll be returning to again and again.“

“Paneer bhurji was delicious. Bhel appetizer was good. The tandoori veggies were meh. Salty lassi had perfect consistency. Staff was friendly.
There is only 1 restroom, forming a queue to wash hands. This was when we went on a weekday for dinner when there wasn't many people here.“

“Best butter chicken i’ve ever had!! There’s options to allow for spice levels which makes it great to order for groups. We ordered take out and the owner was nice enough to throw in an extra naan for us, thank you! Sauce was very flavorful, great portions of chicken. Even the plain white rice had wonderful hints of herbs and cardamom. Naan was soft, filled with cheese and huge portion for the price. Will be back!“

“This lovely place, formerly known as Modhu Mita, has delicious food with incredible nice service. They have many vegan options (as well as vegetarian and meat options) so give it a shot! Simply call the place and they will deliver to you even if you’re out of zone on different apps. I’m adding a picture of their vegetarian options, some of which are actually vegan.“
