“We dined at Robert’s for the first time. We were celebrating a relative’s birthday. The food was outrageous! The appetizers were amazing as were all of the entrees. I had chicken stuffed with mushrooms and I can honestly say that it was the best chicken I have ever eaten. The portions were plentiful. We had a large selection of desserts to choose from at the end of the meal. I chose one particular dessert but before mine came out, I asked if I could exchange it for one that someone in our party had in front of her. No problem. They accommodated me and it was beyond delicious. Also, the staff was very attentive during our whole meal. They could not have been any better. The only negative was the fact that there was also another birthday celebration going on at the same time and it was so noisy that we couldn’t hear each other talk. Despite that, I wouldn’t hesitate to return to this fabulous restaurant.“

“Hands down the best hole-in-the-wall restaurant I’ve ever been to! You walk into what feels like a cozy dive bar, but when you ask to sit in the dining room, they take you through the kitchen to the back—and wow, it’s like stepping into a hidden gem packed with memorabilia everywhere you look. The owner personally went around to every table, greeting everyone and chatting with us about the history of the place—which alone deserves 10 stars. Every single dish we tried was absolutely fantastic. The baked clams were massive, and the garlic clams in that buttery garlic sauce? I could honestly drink it with a spoon. Then came the steaks—perfectly cooked, melt-in-your-mouth delicious.

With an assorted buffet menu and a live band, our members had a memorable evening in the private room of Tavern 73. The cash bar was very busy, and people raved about the food as they left this 4-hour event. Special thanks to Kaya and Gail for the excellent job they did to help to organize and execute this event. But what is compelling me to post this was truly the regarding the service I received here. It brought me to tears!!! Patricio and Dylan were the most considerate, kind, attentive and understanding waiters I have ever met in my entire life. After dining in the tri-state area my whole life, exploring cities like Chicago and LA through food, I’ve been conditioned and numb to lackluster waitstaff and typically take the approach of trying just to avoid them spitting in my food, but Patricio and Dylan completely floored me in their attention to detail, knowledge, and service that showed me exactly what good waiters could be. Living with GI issues and intolerances, I consistently feel like an inconvenience at restaurants and that the entire responsibility of making sure I don’t fall ill after dining is based on how I modify the menu and pick around my plate. EXCEPT here at Rails with Patricio and Dylan, I had the first care-free dining experience in my life, their thoughtfulness allowed me to be truly present with my family, enjoy the wonderful food being served, and just live in the moment, which is so important to me. Dylan was explicit in the detail of every dish and always helped me navigate what was coming around and being served. My husband had the classic burger with French fries and it was huge and cooked to perfection. He said it was juicy and full of flavor with all the toppings. We both liked that the French fries came in a metal cup container because it kept the temperature longer which allowed us to eat them warm. I chose the green tea iced tea and thought it was perfectly not too sweet. Hubby got plain iced tea and it was unsweetened and terrific too. Prices are comparable to the area with tip just under $60.“

The staff were so welcoming and child-friendly. I have never been anywhere as child-friendly in Bergen County. Their outside seating area is perfect for families with young children in tow. “What a place with an old time feel! They are on their game, we ordered on the road 10 minutes out and when we showed up our food was waiting for us. After looking around the building, they have a great condiments bar for all your needs! All the employees were working to get people their food and everything from the kitchen that was on the shelf for customers looked awesome! We got cheese burger clubs and some dogs, which were awesome! Bathrooms and everything was very clean and these guys definitely pay attention to detail on everything! In conclusion, all the food we had was great and these guys will see a surge in patronage as word of mouth goes along way. We just stopped in for a quick lunch on coming home from the beach, and the place continued to fill up as we were there! Johnny, Christos, and company are doing a great job and we will be back very often, because their food and menu options are that good! As I am writing, my wife continues to tell me about the food choices available from the Lantern, which is making me hungry as I write this! You boys have a great thing going and keep it up as we will be continuous customers moving forward!
