Mexican Restaurants near Totowa

“Our first time going to the Totowa location (met up with friends for lunch). Staff was very friendly and helpful - we decided to eat outside and they brought the food to us quickly. We had the tacos, regular bowl with carnitas and fajita bowl with steak and pina-mango drink. Food was very tasty and freshly made. Will come back to try El Pastor. Definitely recommend Sombrero Tacoria.“

“kenny was very nice“

“It’s my first time at this place
I order taco pastor and I wasn’t disappointed
I love it big size taco meat wheel seasoned and soft . I did enjoy my Dinner will come back again.
I loved it so much I ordered another one“

“El concepto es muy padre y bonito. Me sentí en México por un momento. El sabor de la comida excelente. Pero mi mesera me descuidó y nunca me preguntó cómo estaba todo, nunca pasó a preguntar si ocupaba algo. No se ganó la propina, pero ya me la cobraron en la cuenta.“

“😍 I Love ❤️ their chicken and steak 🥩 tacos 🌮 and their Melanesa steak 🥩 sandwich 🥪 🥰❤️“

“Everything was good. The only complain i have is they give you only 90 min to eat and drink. After that time they just bring the check with out us asking and they refuse to keep serving you. They said they have others reservation and people waiting outside for your table. I think they should let you know when you do the table reservation or when you arrive to the place so you can have that on mind. We Drove 1 hr just to get there with a party of 6 and we were consuming all the time . So basically they kick us out.“

“The birria tacos were delicious! Excellent service.“

“If your looking for a good meal at a good price, try Sombrero Tacoria Livingston. A nice Mexican restaurant with quality food. My daughter suggested we try the spot and it did not disappoint. The store is clean, food is fresh, and the staff is friendly. If you are looking for change from hamburgers and pizza give the spot a try and I guarantee you will be back for more.“

“Definitivamente las mejores quesadillas de Tinga al carbón.“

“Ronny was absolutely amazing and made our visit to Chevy’s a great experience from start to finish. His kindness, professionalism, and genuine personality immediately made us feel welcomed. He didn’t just provide great service he made sure we felt comfortable, respected, and truly cared for.
What impressed us the most was the way Ronny treated my mom. He went out of his way to make sure she was happy and had everything she needed. His patience, positive attitude, and thoughtful way of helping made her feel special. My mom left Chevy’s with a big smile and kept talking about how wonderful Ronny was and how much she appreciated the way he treated us.
People like Ronny are what make a place stand out. He brings great energy, kindness, and dedication to his work, and it shows through the way he interacts with customers. He made our experience memorable, and we are truly grateful for the excellent service he provided. Chevy’s is lucky to have someone like Ronny on their team, and we look forward to coming back again because of him. THANK YOUUUU SO MUCH RONNY❤“

“The reviews I read to this restaurant really fooled me. The food served here did not taste fresh. Don't get me started on their drinks, more like ice. If you love spending money on bad food and iced drinks then this is the place for you. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone“

“Great atmosphere, friendly service and interesting menu offering plenty of delicious options. We will be back for sure!“

“This place is a hidden gem! I’ve been coming here for over a year and every single time I have a great experience. The people are super nice, and friendly. You can really tell they like what they do. And the food.. It is always AMAZING, very flavorful, authentic, and portions are very generous. The empanadas and burritos are my favorite but all items are great! Every time I get the chance to, I recommend it to friends and family!“

“Highly recommend the birria tacos 🌮“

“Un lugar muy hermoso 🤩 y encantador ☺️“

“Flavorful food here, especially their sauces! We had been looking in the area for a good Mexican spot and this is the place. Another star for being walking distance from the rock climbing gym right next door. So great for a good rock climbing sesh and great Mexican food after! Our waiters Yahir and Marilin were especially amazing! Great service and the food came out quick and hot. The horchata was especially good!“

“Just tacos. Maybe tacos and a little bit of everything else.
Food was delicious and Enrique was awesome very hospitable made the whole experience even better.
Served hot and wait time was no more than 5-10min for our food.
To be completely transparent a bit on the pricier side but overall 8/10 all around.“

“Queridos Alex y María, Desde el principio captaron mi atención. Su huella en la industria es única; a lo largo de los años, su constancia ha sido de primera. Oro para que cada proyecto en el que se aventuren multiplique su fe en Dios.“

“The food was absolutely amazing and the owners extremely friendly. This place is a diamond in the rough for sure! Value is beyond reasonable as a matter of fact I've payed twice as much in other places and received much less! We will be back!!“

“Ordered via uber eats tonight . I've wanted to try for awhile (since I did a delivery for Feed the Frontlines) and I wasn't disappointed! We shared several items and they were all yummy! I will definitely order again.“

“What do you do when your son eats your leftover enchiladas on Friday night? You go back on Saturday! Husband had the steak salad. Lots of steak.“

“Love the birria tacos and quesadillas! The food is always delicious, but what really makes the experience is the service. Andres always makes me feel right at home and takes great care of us. Amazing food, great atmosphere, and even better service. Definitely one of my favorite spots!“

“Hacienda Restaurant meet the best standards that we requested to enjoy a good time with a quality services.“

“Absolutamente amables y comida deliciosa ;
They’re incredible! Not only is their food delicious but they’re so kind and willing to work with my allergy to soy. I had Mexican family so I’m a pretty harsh critic to Mexican food but I absolutely enjoyed it here.“

“The Ridgewood location offers a fun, casual seating area with a laid-back vibe, simple and quick ordering, and top-notch service. The food is high-quality, authentic Mexican made with fresh ingredients—the fresh cilantro adds a wonderful fragrance to the dishes. Everything we tried was delicious, from the flavorful burrito box to the standout seasoned street corn and the tasty chips and guac. A variety of house-made sauces and a refreshing guava drink added a special touch to the meal, making for a great overall experience that's well worth a visit.“

“Fui a comer y todo está delicioso me encantan los burritos y el agua de tamarindo“

“Great food, excellent customer service. Cant complain when you get guac and queso for free :)“

“Been going here since they opened, in 2008 I believe...the best.“

“deliciosos los tacos de huitlacohe“

“Carlos Mexican Kitchen in Little Falls is hands down the best Mexican restaurant around — no contest. From the moment the food hits the table, you know everything is made fresh, authentic, and with serious care. The dishes are bursting with flavor and come in generous portions, so you never leave hungry.

The salsa dips alone are worth the visit— bold, vibrant, and completely addictive. And the corn quesadilla is to die for. Perfectly prepared, packed with flavor, and the kind of dish you find yourself craving again the next day.

What makes this place truly special is how the food transports you straight to a local home in the heart of Mexico. It’s warm, authentic, and full of soul. Nothing feels commercial or rushed — just real Mexican cooking done right.

Also a huge plus: there are several great vegetarian options, which are just as thoughtfully prepared and delicious.

If you love authentic Mexican food, incredible salsa, and meals that feel homemade in the best possible way, Carlos Mexican Kitchen is an absolute must.“

“los tacos las sopas y todo lo bueno que tiene“

“All made fresh! Delicious“

“From the moment we walked in, the service at Dulce Patria was incredible. We were warmly welcomed right away, and the ambience is absolutely beautiful with plenty of great spots for photos. Our server, Natasha, was amazing and took the time to explain all their promotions, including a great happy hour menu. We tried the Tussi Roll, Dominican Power, and Cuban Tempora sushi rolls. Each one was full of flavor, and I was honestly impressed by how good they were. My friend ordered the Bad Bunny drink and the Beso de Coco. She enjoyed both, but the coconut one was her favorite and she definitely recommends it for coconut lovers. Parking isn’t the greatest in the area, but this place is absolutely worth the effort to find a spot. Overall, I had a great experience here and will definitely be coming back with more friends.“

“Fandango’s street tacos are awesome. We took a tray of these to a New Year’s Eve party in Glen Ridge and they were a big hit!“

“We have visited this restaurant on multiple occasions and have had great experiences every single time.

Food is delicious & affordable! The staff is friendly and attentive! 🙂
On a couple of occasions we've had to wait to be seated (due to the popularity!) but our wait has never been over 20 mins.

All in all, definitely recommend for yummy, authentic mexican food at an unbeatable price!“

“Awesome deals and awesome
quality food! When I ordered I used pickup with door dash and they have buy one get one free on some great menu items. Even went back a few days later for more. Was able to feed 3 kids and 3 adults when I ran to ShopRite next door and got tortillas used them to make burritos and we were all fully satisfied.“
